Doran is a 5-year-old Chinese Crested/Terrier mix who was sadly left behind by his previous people… but don’t worry, he’s handled it like the brave little champ he is. He’s learned that humans can actually be pretty great, especially the kind who give him a little time and a lot of patience. Once you’re in his trust circle? You’re in for life. This funny, quirky guy loves hanging out with other dogs and can often be found running around playing tag with his foster buddies like it’s recess. When he’s not zooming, he’s perfecting his sun-lounging skills, popping in and out of the doggy door like he owns the place, or chasing squirrels who absolutely started it. Doran’s favorite things include: Toys (all of them) Treats (yes, please) Couch cuddles (non-negotiable) Sunshine naps Being your little shadow once he feels safe He’s equal parts playful and cuddly, silly and sweet, and ready for a home that will let him settle in at his own pace and show him he’s finally home for good. He can be timid at first, but every day he’s learning that people can be kind and love can be safe. Once he feels comfortable, Dan shows his sweet side—curling up on the couch, soaking up the sunshine, and happily sharing space with other dogs. Dan enjoys the simple joys in life: sunbathing like a pro, chasing squirrels and birds, and letting deer know (from a safe distance) that he’s on neighborhood watch. He’s a soft, sensitive boy who thrives in calm environments and would love a quiet person or couple who can give him patience, consistency, and all the affection he’s been waiting for. Shy little one! Meet Maria! Sweet Maria is looking for a special forever home and that just might be you! She’s an adorable 7-pound Chihuahua with a cheerful and upbeat personality. She’s sure to make you laugh and smile! While Maria is a sweetheart, it's important to note that she has a fear of being touched. Despite her gentle nature, Maria struggles with being handled and avoids physical contact. It's something that her foster family has been working on. That said, Maria has recently gone blind out of the blue, so that changes her world quite a bit. One interesting outcome is that she's a little less shy, but we will see how that play out. One of Maria's favorite pastimes is playing with other small dogs, exploring in the yard and sunbathing. When she's not busy playing, Maria chills and hangs out near her people. (She will need a home with a small-dog-proof fence). She would do well in a home with one or more friendly, playful small dogs and one that’s pretty low-key without a lot of people coming in and out. If you already have snuggly pets, Maria’s presence won’t change that. No fighting for your lap! Be a true hero and give this sweet, playful girl her forever home.
