Louie’s previous owner’s health issues meant they could no longer properly care for Louie, so he is looking for a new home. Like most Chiweenie’s he is a very LOYAL VELCRO dog and bonds quickly to one person, and all he wants to do is be near his person. He is the quintessential lap dog He seems to prefer women, but previously lived with a man and a woman and was sweet with them both. He can become protective of his person - barking and growling on occasion when someone new he doesn’t know very well gets close. He has no history of biting, but he has shown resource guarding behavior towards his favorite people in this way. He does great with our big dogs, but he has gotten snippy with smaller dogs who approached his person in the past. Basically he needs someone – dog or human – to remind him he isn’t in charge and can stand down, then he relaxes and is a very chill, sweet little guy. He is about 19lbs and has no known health issues.

Hello, I am looking to rehome my 10-year-old Chiweenie to a caring and patient family. She is a sweet, mellow dog who loves to relax, lounge around, and spend time with her people. She has a calm personality and enjoys a quiet environment. Due to my work schedule, I am away from home for long hours and can no longer give her the time and attention she deserves. Because she is left alone for much of the day, she has accidents in the apartment and is not fully potty trained. She would do best with someone who is home more often and can provide a consistent routine, frequent potty breaks, and patience. Eva lived in an assisted living facility with her beloved Papa. After he passed, another resident tried to care for her, but it quickly became too much. When the family reached out to us, we knew right away that this sweet girl belonged with Tails of Gray. 8-year-old Eva is a mellow, house-trained little lady who loves to cuddle, gets along beautifully with both people and dogs, and is happiest snuggled on the couch surrounded by a mountain of blankies. Aside from a heart murmur and minor arthritis, she is considered healthy. She arrived a bit underweight at 12 lbs, but she’s steadily filling out. Since joining us, Eva has truly blossomed — even showing a cute, playful side we hadn’t seen before. She’s ready for the next special chapter of her life and can’t wait to meet her forever family.

Turbina came into the shelter with her four siblings after her parents left the country and the remaining family member was unable to care for them. She is 10 years old, weighs 16 pounds, and has quickly made herself right at home in foster care. Turbina has already shown us she’s a champion sleeper, an enthusiastic eater, and a world class snorer. While she can be a little shy at first, Turbina is incredibly sweet once she knows she’s safe and cared for. She is really starting to come out of her shell, seeking out her foster family for affection, following her foster mom around the house, and happily joining in on little adventures. She loves sleeping on the bed, is eating well, and is even beginning to ask for walks. Turbina is also learning house training and doing great. She will thrive in a calm, quiet home without young children where she can continue to build confidence and feel secure. She recently underwent cherry eye surgery and is ready to head to her forever and ever home.

***COURTESY POST*** FRESNO, CA We are pleased to introduce you to youngster Chachi, a neutered male chi/dachshund/mystery mix. He was rescued as a stray from an elementary school 7-8 months ago by TOG Buddy Love’s foster mom. One of the other big rescue dogs in the home picks on him, so they have to be separated, and it’s a lot of effort. The need in that area is overwhelming, and we’re hoping that he can find a wonderful forever home by capturing the heart of a family looking for a younger dog. Chachi is very sweet and will cuddle next to you until you wake up. He loves fetch and the water hose. He has a big bark, but no bite. He’s fine with cats and friendly with all dogs, if they like him too. Please consider opening up your heart and home to this sweetheart.
