Story
Our half brother abandoned this sweet boy, and we would like to find a forever home for him as we already have animals of our own to take care of. Duke is a little sweetie; he likes cuddling, he enjoys running around outside, and he is one of the only dogs you’ll see to actually chase their tail! Will upload pictures very soon!

Story
Meet a sweet, spirited Chiweenie looking for a fresh start. She’s affectionate, expressive, and full of personality — a soulful little dog who loves indoor snuggles, outdoor adventures, and bursts of playful energy. She’s also content to relax and enjoy quiet time. Her one challenge: she’s not house trained. This will require patience and a setup that can accommodate accidents. She’s not a fit for someone expecting a perfectly behaved pup, but she could thrive with someone experienced in rescue or willing to work with her quirks. If you’re looking for a loving companion and are open to helping her grow, she’ll reward you with loyalty, laughter, and lots of heart.

Story
Paisley is an absolutely adorable 4 1/2-month-old Chiweenie (Dachshund/Chihuahua) mix weighing 9.5 pounds, with a lovely tan, smooth coat. She was born (04/7/25). She’s a little shy but very sweet, and she’s looking for a loving forever home—either alone or with her siblings Piper, Parker, and Prince. Her story is heartwarming—her mom was purchased for just $20 from a homeless man, and when she was pregnant, the family who bought her didn’t realize she was expecting. Thankfully, she delivered her puppies safely, and now Paisley and her siblings are ready to bring joy to new families. Paisley is scheduled to be spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated. As a puppy, she will need house training and leash training when old enough, but she’s eager to learn and love. Are you ready to open your heart and home to this sweet little girl? Paisley can’t wait to become a cherished member of your family! Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. Story
Egg yolk is ready to find his forever home here in sf Bay area! He's appx 3 to 4 yrs old, mixed breed but he's such a cute lil guy. He weights about 17lbs, loves to eat, crate trained. He does well with other dogs and is a bit shy in new environment and people but he will gradually open up. No aggression at all! He still needs to learn to walk on leash but he's a smart pup and will learn fairly quickl. He doesn't bark much and he loves to rub himself on the floor for back rubs 😄

These pups are in Livermore, California too!

Story
We adopted Coco about 2.5 years ago. He is a small 9 year old mixed breed dog. He really likes being petted, loves walks and even going for a run, but is also OK to lay low at home. Due to our busy routine we aren’t always able to take him out everyday. He likes small, squishy toys and chasing squirrels in our backyard. We haven’t had much experience with him spending time with other pets, but when he’s at the park with other dogs, he’s always Ok and sometimes just keeps to himself. An ideal home would be someone who has time to take him out for walks and to chill with him at home, preferably a female since he seems to be much more comfortable around women than men, at least at first. Coco knows to use the doggy door to go outside and is also crate-trained. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccination up to date. Coco has a heart murmur, and needs to take medication (Vetmedin) twice a day. The cost of the medication is about $60 per month.

Story
Chip earned this name for two reasons: he's a 10 pound chi, like a chip of wood, i.e. a small part of a big dog, and also he's amazingly chipper at all times, taking off from the front stoop like a long jumper and sort of hopping around on his wobbly back legs at quite a rate of speed. He gets along fine with other dogs, though a little awkward. He can be a little shy and, as with many of them, he'll need a little understanding as he settles in to his new home on his time. Though he follows his foster mom around constantly, his idea of affection seems to be head butts in the morning and occasionally sitting next to her on the couch. He's still getting used to the idea of being loved. We think that he's about 10-years-old and he is 10 lbs. He is hearing impaired but has adjusted fine to this. Chip is very happy to meet another day and we are thrilled to have him in our care. He will do well in a mellow, adult home where he is surrounded by understanding and lots and lots of love.

Story
This little charmer may only have one eye and a toothless grin, but he makes up for it with a huge personality. Pepe gets along well with other dogs, though he’ll do best in a home without children since he can be a bit feisty at times. Pepe’s past hasn’t slowed him down - he came to us with a previously broken jaw that healed on its own, so he does best with soft food. While he has a couple of teeth left, his heart murmur means we won’t be pursuing further dental work. At the moment, he isn’t on any long-term medications, just some ear medication for a minor infection. He is about 8 years old and a whopping 6 lbs. He’s a boy who knows what he likes and isn’t afraid to let you know! Above all, Pepe adores snuggling under cozy blankets, so his forever family will need to make sure he has plenty to burrow into. If you’re looking for a spunky, opinionated, and oh-so-snuggly companion, Pepe just might be your guy.
