Story
We adopted Coco about 2.5 years ago. He is a small 9 year old mixed breed dog. He really likes being petted, loves walks and even going for a run, but is also OK to lay low at home. Due to our busy routine we aren’t always able to take him out everyday. He likes small, squishy toys and chasing squirrels in our backyard. We haven’t had much experience with him spending time with other pets, but when he’s at the park with other dogs, he’s always Ok and sometimes just keeps to himself. An ideal home would be someone who has time to take him out for walks and to chill with him at home, preferably a female since he seems to be much more comfortable around women than men, at least at first. Coco knows to use the doggy door to go outside and is also crate-trained. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccination up to date. Coco has a heart murmur, and needs to take medication (Vetmedin) twice a day. The cost of the medication is about $60 per month.

Story
Chip earned this name for two reasons: he's a 10 pound chi, like a chip of wood, i.e. a small part of a big dog, and also he's amazingly chipper at all times, taking off from the front stoop like a long jumper and sort of hopping around on his wobbly back legs at quite a rate of speed. He gets along fine with other dogs, though a little awkward. He can be a little shy and, as with many of them, he'll need a little understanding as he settles in to his new home on his time. Though he follows his foster mom around constantly, his idea of affection seems to be head butts in the morning and occasionally sitting next to her on the couch. He's still getting used to the idea of being loved. We think that he's about 10-years-old and he is 10 lbs. He is hearing impaired but has adjusted fine to this. Chip is very happy to meet another day and we are thrilled to have him in our care. He will do well in a mellow, adult home where he is surrounded by understanding and lots and lots of love.

Story
This little charmer may only have one eye and a toothless grin, but he makes up for it with a huge personality. Pepe gets along well with other dogs, though he’ll do best in a home without children since he can be a bit feisty at times. Pepe’s past hasn’t slowed him down - he came to us with a previously broken jaw that healed on its own, so he does best with soft food. While he has a couple of teeth left, his heart murmur means we won’t be pursuing further dental work. At the moment, he isn’t on any long-term medications, just some ear medication for a minor infection. He is about 8 years old and a whopping 6 lbs. He’s a boy who knows what he likes and isn’t afraid to let you know! Above all, Pepe adores snuggling under cozy blankets, so his forever family will need to make sure he has plenty to burrow into. If you’re looking for a spunky, opinionated, and oh-so-snuggly companion, Pepe just might be your guy.

Story
Eva lived in an assisted living facility with her beloved Papa. After he passed, another resident tried to care for her, but it quickly became too much. When the family reached out to us, we knew right away that this sweet girl belonged with Tails of Gray. 8-year-old Eva is a mellow, house-trained little lady who loves to cuddle, gets along beautifully with both people and dogs, and is happiest snuggled on the couch surrounded by a mountain of blankies. Aside from a heart murmur and minor arthritis, she is considered healthy. She arrived a bit underweight at 12 lbs, but she’s steadily filling out. Since joining us, Eva has truly blossomed — even showing a cute, playful side we hadn’t seen before. She’s ready for the next special chapter of her life and can’t wait to meet her forever family.

Story
***COURTESY POST*** FRESNO, CA We are pleased to introduce you to youngster Chachi, a neutered male chi/dachshund/mystery mix. He was rescued as a stray from an elementary school 7-8 months ago by TOG Buddy Love’s foster mom. One of the other big rescue dogs in the home picks on him, so they have to be separated, and it’s a lot of effort. The need in that area is overwhelming, and we’re hoping that he can find a wonderful forever home by capturing the heart of a family looking for a younger dog. Chachi is very sweet and will cuddle next to you until you wake up. He loves fetch and the water hose. He has a big bark, but no bite. He’s fine with cats and friendly with all dogs, if they like him too. Please consider opening up your heart and home to this sweetheart. If you are interested in learning more about him, please email us at info@tailsofgray.org. A “not-senior” dog deserving of love is waiting for you. Please SHARE THIS POST so we can help this boy find a forever and ever home.

Story
Mika is a gentle, friendly girl with a sweet soul. At around 6 years old and weighing just 10 pounds, she may be small in size, but she has a big heart and gets along well with dogs of all sizes. Mika is a quiet companion who rarely barks and sleeps peacefully through the night on her dog bed. While she’s not a big cuddler, Mika happily offers her belly for rubs and enjoys being near her people. She's still working on her house training and currently needs a little help getting outside to do her business. Mika enjoys short walks—about a quarter mile is her comfort zone—and doesn't need much more to feel content. She’s shown little interest in the feral cats she encounters on her walks, so she would likely do well in a home with a cat. If you're looking for a calm, loving, and low-maintenance companion, Mika could be the perfect match. If you are interested in adopting Mika, please complete our application at 1luckydogrescue.org or email Nancy at nancymoore016@gmail.com and tell us a little about the home you would offer Mika.
