Meet Chance – So Full of Hope Abandoned, suffering, and covered in horrible mange... all Chance hoped for was someone to care. Imagine being just a year old, all alone in the world, with no warm bed, no gentle touch, and no one to comfort you when your little body is hurting. Chance didn't understand why he had been abandoned. He only knew he was suffering and needed someone to give him a chance. Thankfully, someone finally did. When Chance was found, he was suffering from horrible mange, and his poor skin needed serious care. It's heartbreaking to think about what this tiny boy endured all alone. But his story didn't end in sadness. He was rescued, received the care he desperately needed, and began his journey toward a happier life. This precious 12-pound boy is steadily healing, and although his skin will continue to recover, his sweet spirit is already shining. Despite everything he's endured, Chance has blossomed into the most wonderful little love bug! We're guessing he's a Chiweenie and Jack Russell Terrier mix, but whatever his mix, he's 12 pounds of pure sweetness! He loves other dogs, cats, and kids, and he's ready to fill a home with happiness. Now, Chance needs one more miracle: a forever family. He deserves to know what it's like to be someone's beloved little companion. To curl up in a cozy bed, receive endless belly rubs, and wake up every morning knowing he's safe and loved. He has already survived so much. Now it's his turn to be cherished. Please don't let Chance's difficult past—or his still-healing skin—keep you from seeing the beautiful soul he is. Duchess has been returned after 6 mos. Her current adopter became ill and returned her to the shelter. We picked her up today 10/24 and she will decompress with us . She is a shy gal, rightly so at this time. we will see how she does and hopefully she will gain some confidence . Duchess needs a family that will keep her forever . We all know circumstances change, but for this shy girl to lose someone she knows twice is a bit overwhelming. Unless you are committed to her, please do not apply. If you cannot handle a shy gal, and give her the time and patience she needs to acclimate, please do not apply. Cute is cute, but she needs an understanding loving patient person to help her out. below is her original posting. Duchess is a 8 yr old long hair chi. She came to rescue because her owner passed away. She is very shy and needs some time to acclimate to new surroundings. She is hw negative, vacs are up to date and she is spayed and chipped. At the time of her spay, a mammary tumor was completely removed. Since she has been in rescue, this shy girl is slowly coming around. She always has a wag of the tail for you, and enjoys small amounts of petting. Can be a rather independent girl, likes her quiet corner. She does shy away from hands coming too fast at her, but once you are petting her, she does love belly rubs. Crate trained, housebroken and we are working on leash skills. She will need a quiet home, a very patient person who will aloow her to bloom at her own pace. I would recommend a fenced yard and definitely another dog in the home. Retired would be great. Fostered in Bradenton.

This lil 14 pd chi mix came from a hoarding situation on the east coast of Florida. She is unsocialized, needs a quiet home, is not aggressive to people. She just needs time. allowing for decompression is very important. Right now an airline crate is her safe space. She has made no attempt to bite just wants to be as small as possible. Fostered in Bradenton. Someone who has experience with hoarding dogs, fearful dogs will be good for this girl. Must have a fenced yard, and another calm dog, not in your face type of dog. We have made some progress 3/7!! Brown is taking food from my hand and will approach you for more!!! She is intimidated by other dogs that are in her face and will stay on the outer circle. Once you have her alone she will approach and take food and actually allow petting. She needs a lot more one on one. She has a habit of spinning in the crate when being fed. Not so concerned about that, it should go away in time. it does not prevent her from eating and she has a good appetite!! Brown needs a very patient foster maybe one other dog. She does crate well prefers an airline crate, She is housebroken and uses a dog door! She needs to learn to walk on lead, get used to being touched, and to trust people. She is a special needs and a project dog. I know there are not many of you out there, but inside this lil gal is a gem of a dog once you win her over. Currently fostered in Bradenton. The trip to the vets was good!! We were able to hold her, pet her , get a collar on her. With time and a lot more of touching and petting she will be fine!! She doesnt like a lot of dogs around her so she would do so much better in a home with less dogs, and come around much faster!! She is a happy joyous soul, we would really love to see her blossom in that special home!!
