Are you looking for a cozy cuddly older but not yet ready for full retirement pup? Oscar would love to be your new new best friend. He is great with kids and just loves being next to his human or curled up on the couch. He will walk on a leash and follow you around where ever you go. He is ok in the car and loves meeting strangers. Oscar is still working on house training but with the help of belly wraps he does really well and goes outside anytime he is let out. Oscar came to rescue because his family had to leave their home and they had too many dogs to bring into the new apartment. It was a very hard decision for his mom to let him go and is grateful that the rescue will help find him the best second act home. All who meet Oscar love him and vise versa! Apply today! ST 4.13.26

Hi! I’m Kyser! I’m a 10 year old chiweenie minpin mix! I get nervous but once I get to know you I’m stuck like glue! I LOVE to love. I’m huge on cuddling, following my person around and cuddling under the covers (I think most call it being a Velcro dog?) I would love to have an owner that is home the majority of the day! While I do well with kids, smaller little ones can make me a little nervous, I don’t really like my legs, paws, or belly messed with and sometimes they aren’t really respectful. I’m great with other dogs, but I think rowdy ones are rude and would likely do best in a home with calmer dogs. I don’t care about cats (unless they try and lay on me).

Story
Lady Mae is a particularly special pet. She came to us with 2 two other pets. One was another 2-legged chihuahua the other had all of her limbs. These pets were taken in by a kind person who wanted them to have the best home. All the pets were timid, Lady and the 4-legged pet, Teya were overweight, the 3rd one was much smaller. All showed a lack of socialization and hadn't spent much time outdoors. Since coming to rescue several months ago, Lady has learned to get around well, has lost some of her excess weight and is able to be social with other pets and people. Taking into consideration her special needs, the home we want to place her in would have experience with or at least a strong understanding of "biped" pets. She isn't a novelty, she is a special needs dog and we want her to live her best, most fulfilled life. If she finds her home in another state, we would have the adopter help with transport and the costs of that. She has an adoption fee of $450. She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and has been heartworm tested negative.

Story
Moose came to the Rescue as an owner surrender. He is a sweetie who is friendly to people he doesn’t know, though he does take a minute to warm up. He’s mostly housebroken if you let him out often enough. He’s not a fan of being in a crate but will tolerate being in one for short periods of time. When Moose is happy to see his person, he will bring his toys that he plays with at times. Like most Chihuahuas, Moose is independent and wants things his way. Moose had a neuter, a dental, and his left eye was removed, which means he is happier with no longer needing that eye to be cleaned and medicated. These procedures were done in mid-April 2025 and Moose is healing well. Moose is ready to go to an approved forever home! Local Indianapolis adoption only. SP 4/7/25

Bella, DOB 11/15/2019, had belonged to the cousin of the man surrendering her. Cousin became severely ill, Phil and his wife took the dogs in. But then the cousin died. Two dogs became too much for the couple who now have health issues of their own. Bella didn't have vet care for the time she was with Phil and his wife, but luckily, is in good shape. Her shots are now up to date. She is scheduled for a dental on 11/5/26. Bella is making great progress toward being potty trained. She needs to be asked if she wants to go out, however. She's not quite figured out asking you to let her out yet. She will use potty pads if they are available. Bella loves to be next to her human. Whatever room you're in she'll be there. If you sit, she wants to be next to you. She'd love to sleep in bed with you, though that is not on offer in her foster home. She will be OK with sleeping in a dog bed next to your bed. Can you be the soft place to land for this good girl and her best buddy?
