Story
Meet Mojo! Mojo is a 10-year-old gentleman that is officially ready to be your professional cuddly companion! This gentle boy is only 10 pounds, but what he lacks in size he makes up for with happy tail wags and good vibes. Before he came to us, Mojo was found as a stray with some unfortunate signs of neglect, but with a little makeover and some love, his spirit is as bright as ever...you could say he got his mojo back! In his foster home, Mojo is clearly the definition of ‘the best boy’. He even got rave reviews from his veterinarian, who crowned him the most well-behaved chihuahua they have ever seen! This sweet and polite nature is sure to show itself in your home the moment he hops up on the couch to get cozy next to you. In between lounge sessions, Mojo turns into an enthusiastic explorer the minute he steps outside. Wait until you see the pep in his step and a-mile-a-minute tail wags when you hook on his leash! While he is excited to sniff on his neighborhood strolls, he is a complete gentleman and effortless to walk. Mojo is a sweetheart that truly has every quality to be the perfect pet, and he hopes that he can find a place in your heart (and your lap!) very soon. Mojo has a heart murmur, which is common in dogs his age and breed. He's currently doing well and simply takes daily medication to help manage it. He feels great, enjoys his normal activities, and doesn't let it slow him down. As with many senior dogs, he'll need ongoing veterinary care and occasional cardiology follow-ups. Story
Tito is a tiny 5.5-pound Chihuahua with a big personality and an even bigger story. This little survivor was originally found living on his own in the woods, and it took rescuers quite a bit of time to safely capture him. By the time he arrived at the shelter, Tito had clearly learned how to take care of himself — and he carried that “big dog” attitude right along with him! Like many Chihuahuas, Tito has that classic spicy charm. He knows what he likes and isn’t shy about letting you know. He’s currently living in a foster home with several other dogs and has happily taken on the role of the boss. Tito is looking for a special adopter who understands Chihuahuas and appreciates their bold personalities. He has been adopted twice before and returned, so we want to be completely transparent: Tito needs an experienced Chi owner who knows and loves the breed’s quirks. He does best in a home where someone is around a lot, or in a home with other small, very submissive dogs for company. Tito doesn’t enjoy being left alone as the only dog and may bark if he’s lonely, so apartment living may not be the best fit if he’ll be alone for long periods. The good news? Tito has plenty of wonderful qualities to balance out that sass. He walks nicely on a leash and has the cutest little prance when he strolls along. Even better — when he gets excited, he smiles! It’s absolutely adorable. Bedtime is Tito’s favorite time of day. Like any true Chihuahua, he loves to burrow under the covers and snuggle up close to his person to stay warm. He is house-trained and goes outside, but since small dogs have small bladders, he’s also comfortable using a pee pad. If there are other dominant male dogs in the home, he may mark, so a belly band or little pants may be helpful. Once Tito bonds with you, he becomes incredibly sweet and loyal. He’s the kind of dog who will be your constant companion — a sometimes spicy, always devoted best friend. Tito would thrive in a quiet, stable home without small children. Cats are okay! After being moved around so much, he deserves a place where he can finally settle in and feel secure. Adoption Fee: $200 Tito is fully vetted and microchipped. Story
🐾 Thatch - A Loyal Little Shadow with a Big Heart Meet Thatch, a 3-year-old, 24-lb Dachshund/Labrador mix with a sleek dark brown coat and an adorable white patch on his chest — and just enough personality to steal your heart. Thatch is a sensitive, thoughtful guy who likes to take a moment to size up new situations. On leash, he can be reactive toward people, but with patient handling and continued training, he’s making great progress. Give him a minute to warm up and you’ll quickly see his true self: a devoted, affectionate best friend who just wants to be near his people. We are currently in the process of working with a trainer to help build his confidence with meeting new people! Thatch absolutely loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with another friendly or playful pup to show him the ropes. He enjoys playing with toys — both with humans and his dog friends — and when he gets excited, he does the cutest little prance with both front legs that will make you smile every time. He’s fully potty trained and leash trained, sleeps well in his crate at night and when left alone, and is a dream work-from-home companion, happily lounging nearby while you tackle your day. Thatch would do best in a home: With no kids With another dog who has a calm or playful temperament With adopters who are confident, patient, and committed to slow, thoughtful introductions to new people Thatch likes to know who’s around so he feels safe — and once he does, he becomes an extreme cuddler. He loves building cozy blanket forts, exploring the backyard, rolling in the grass, and soaking up the sun. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who bonds deeply and will reward your patience with endless love, Thatch might just be your perfect match. Apply to adopt Thatch today!
