Meet Rocco: Rocco is estimated to be about a 2 year old (as of December 2025) chihuahua mix (best guess) that weighs 16 pounds. Rocco was found as a stray around some garbage cans looking for food. Rocco is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Rocco has a very sweet personality. Rocco gets along well with other dogs. Rocco can be a little shy at first but warms up quickly. Rocco loves snuggling in your lap and is a really sweet boy. Due to Rocco’s size, we would recommend a home with children over 7 or children with dog experience. Rocco is house trained and prefers to cuddle in bed at night with you. We would love for Rocco to have a home with a fenced in yard so he can play freely, but it is not a requirement. Rocco is up to date on his shots and neutered. "Do you like Velcro dogs?  Are you looking for a shadow/cuddle buddy?  Do you like to take walks?  If so, Gerald and his extra large kissable ears would love to meet you! Gerald demands to be in the presence of his people at all times and gets along with three other dogs of similar size in his current foster home.  Gerald has free run of the house when the humans are not at home and is not destructive.  He enjoys sleeping in the humans' bed and hanging out in the fenced back yard.  Gerald is very playful and affectionate once he gets to know and trust a person. He loves to be held and to snuggle. One of his favorite things is to sleep under the blankets with his people. He thrives on human interaction and just wants to give and receive love. Gerald is estimated to be about a 7 year old (as of August 2025) chihuahua / Jack Russel terrier mix that weighs around 19 pounds. Gerald is currently being fostered in the Lancaster, PA area and would love to meet his forever family. Gerald has a little bit of hair loss due to a previous flea allergy. With or without the fur, Gerald is a handsome guy. He is good with other dogs that are his size. He is still active, although not as playful as the younger pups. He would do best in a home without cats, as his prey drive kicks in when he sees the foster's cats. Gerald is house trained. We would love for Gerald to have a home with a fenced in yard so he can play freely, however it is not a requirement. Gerald is up to date on his shots and neutered. Meet Pearl: Pearl is an approximately 8 year old (as of December 2025) dachshund/small mixed breed (best guess) that weighs about 20 pounds. She came to us from a small rural shelter in Tennessee and is now being fostered in the Hallam, PA area while she waits for her forever home. Pearl is the definition of a lap dog. While she may be consider a "senior," she still has plenty of life and love to give. She's not quite a playful puppy, but she's also far from slowing down - she enjoys short bursts of activity followed by lots of cuddle time. When Pearl first arrived in her PA foster home she was very shy, but she has truly blossomed in foster care. She's now the ultimate velcro dog and wants to be as close to her person as possible at all times. The moment you sit down (and sometimes before!), Pearl will be right there, ready to curl up in your lap. If she gets nudged out, don't worry - she'll hope right back in! Like many small dogs, Pearly can be a little vocal and may fuss when competing for lap space with other dogs. Because of this, we think she would do best as the only pet in the home, where she can soak up all the attention. Her sass is more amusing than serious, but she definitely prefers to be the center of your world. We are still assessing how she is with cats. Her foster family has a dog-savvy cat that is interested in Pearl. Pearl gets excited and barks at the cat, but she hasn't chased him. Pearl is house-trained and does well on a leash. She enjoys going for walks and taking in the world around her, then coming home to relax in her favorite cozy spot - your lap. Pearl would be happiest in a home where she can get plenty of love, attention, and cozy spots to relax. Pearl is up to date on her shots and spayed. If your lap is feeling a little empty (and maybe a little chilly), Pearl is ready to fill it with warmth, love, and plenty of snuggles.
