Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Babe is super sweet and adores playing with other dogs. She had come from a hoarding situation so she takes time to warm up to new people. She will only go to a home with another small dog because that is what she is used to and she LOVES playing. A fenced yard is also a MUST. Once babe decides your her "person" she absolutely loves you with everything in her :)  She would also do best with a home that dose not have people running in and out 24/7  as that can be a lot for her :) REQUIREMENTS:  MUST have a fenced yard,  MUST have another small dog   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
Kobe is a 2yr old mini dachshund looking for an experienced forever home. He is tiny at 8lbs. He was a breeder and is not used to human attention so he is a very scared/skittish boy in new situations. He needs someone with alot of patience to allow him to open up on his timeline. You must have another dachshund or small dog in your home to help with his confidence. NO kids. And I have no idea how he would be with cats. We can discuss the rehoming fee but most importantly he finds a home with experience with a guy like him.

Meet Tater! He is about 2 1/2yrs old and 10lbs. He is a brindle piebald wirehair. He is neutered. Crate trained and uses the doggie door to go out to potty. Loves to go for walks. Does well on and off leash! He gets along great with other dachshunds and would do best with another one in his new home. Tater, however, is not a fan of men. So a home with women only would be best for him as well. I don’t know about cats or kids so teens and older only please. 717-650-9928 text only
