Addie is about 12 years old and she is super sweet. I took her in from my grandparents when they could no longer care for her. Now I am in the same situation. I want her to go to a home where someone can care for her better than what I am able to. She is an outside dog at the moment and she seems to be good with children and other dogs, from what I have seen. She has a lot of energy for an older dog but she also enjoys lazing around as well. She needs to be fed separately from other dogs and she seems to sleep best at night in her kennel. My hope for her is that she finds a loving home with people who will be happy to have her.

Welcome Maverick to CCPAL Foster Program. Maverick is a 4-year-old Chiweenie. He weighs about 19 pounds. He is good on a leash, good in a car. He is potty trained and very loyal to his person. He knows “go for a walk”, “stop”, “leave it”, “It’s the neighbor” and a few other commands. He is in a home and the owner is having some very big financial issues and need to find Maverick a new home. Maverick has some allergies to food and the food that he can is a Duck and Potato kibble. He has some allergies to grass. He has take Apoquel successfully to handle the allergies. He warms up slowly and is very loyal and bonded once he has bonded. He would be great for a senior couple or single wanting a companion. A nice yard for him to get exercise in would be nice or someone that could have the time to take him on a couple of walks would be great. He isn’t the social butterfly that some dogs are so a matching owner would be the best fit. He would be a great dog to alert you to someone at the door or something being off in the environment. He is good on walks and would help a senior be more active. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. He could go with children but we would like them to be teens. I think a quieter home would be best for this boy. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Howdy y’all! I’m Raz––a handsome, sensitive soul looking for a fresh start after my previous owner sadly passed away. I’m a loyal and independent guy searching for a quiet, low-key environment. Recently, I’ve been loving my training boot camp at Lone Star State K9, learning how to be a polite pup and stay in my crate. I may be a cowboy, but that doesn’t mean my manners can’t be top-tier! Despite still being a puppy, I’ve been told I’m kind of an old soul… so I’d prefer hanging out in an adult-only home or one with older, dog-savvy kids who respect boundaries; I love to be around my people, but I also just like my personal space sometimes! When it comes to other pets, I’ve got kind of a lone wolf attitude, and personally, I’d love to be your loyal one-and-only. My feelings have been hurt by other dogs before, but I’ve been doing a great job at camp learning how to dust off my boots and handle it. That doesn’t all mean this cowboy can’t get rodeo-rowdy. Te quiero SNIPSA! Te quiero nine Chihuahuas! Okay, eight Chihuahuas, and one very friendly imposter. But we could easily gobble each one of them up with some queso fresco. Meet Tomatillo, Pastor, Pico, Carnitas, Fideo, Migas, Chilequiles, Asada and Enchilada. This adorable variety pack took a freedom ride to SNIPSA on September 3rd, stacked shoulder-to-shoulder in our iconic van. Prior to their rescue, they were all living together under one roof in unfortunate circumstances. Sadly, each pup was suffering from a myriad of issues: fleas and ticks, overgrown toenails, upper respiratory infections, and lack of socialization. Now, they have received some much-needed veterinary care, and they are ready to embrace a brighter reality in foster homes! This squad is learning to live a normal life, one day at a time. They’re looking forward to long snoozes on cushy couches, slow but thorough inspections of giant backyards, and plenty of love from the people in their lives. They’re very sweet despite their rocky past, and they are eager to trust. Chihuahuas make great pets because they have huge personalities. Their tiny bodies are full of energy, bossiness, affection, and occasionally–spite! They will snuggle up on your lap or curse your enemies with equal amounts of enthusiasm.
