Addie is about 12 years old and she is super sweet. I took her in from my grandparents when they could no longer care for her. Now I am in the same situation. I want her to go to a home where someone can care for her better than what I am able to. She is an outside dog at the moment and she seems to be good with children and other dogs, from what I have seen. She has a lot of energy for an older dog but she also enjoys lazing around as well. She needs to be fed separately from other dogs and she seems to sleep best at night in her kennel. My hope for her is that she finds a loving home with people who will be happy to have her.

Welcome Maverick to CCPAL Foster Program. Maverick is a 4-year-old Chiweenie. He weighs about 19 pounds. He is good on a leash, good in a car. He is potty trained and very loyal to his person. He knows “go for a walk”, “stop”, “leave it”, “It’s the neighbor” and a few other commands. He is in a home and the owner is having some very big financial issues and need to find Maverick a new home. Maverick has some allergies to food and the food that he can is a Duck and Potato kibble. He has some allergies to grass. He has take Apoquel successfully to handle the allergies. He warms up slowly and is very loyal and bonded once he has bonded. He would be great for a senior couple or single wanting a companion. A nice yard for him to get exercise in would be nice or someone that could have the time to take him on a couple of walks would be great. He isn’t the social butterfly that some dogs are so a matching owner would be the best fit. He would be a great dog to alert you to someone at the door or something being off in the environment. He is good on walks and would help a senior be more active. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. He could go with children but we would like them to be teens. I think a quieter home would be best for this boy. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Meet Dolly! Dolly was rescued by a kindhearted woman who had the very best intentions. She hoped this sweet, energetic puppy would become a playful companion for her two older Chihuahuas and bring a little excitement into their lives. Unfortunately, the older girls were set in their ways and had no interest in keeping up with a busy puppy. Worried that Dolly might accidentally get hurt, her new mom made the difficult decision to find her a more suitable home. Having previously adopted one of her Chihuahuas from Mini Wonders Adoptions, she knew she could trust us to find Dolly the loving family she deserves. At approximately 13 weeks old, Dolly is a bright, affectionate little girl who loves dogs, cats, and people! She is still learning to potty outside but uses her puppy pads like a champ. Dolly is smart as a whip and eager to learn—she just needs a patient family willing to guide her as she grows. If you are ready to welcome a playful, loving puppy into your family, Dolly may be the perfect match for you!

Meet Leo! Leo’s world was turned upside down when his beloved owner passed away. With no family able to take him in, he suddenly found himself alone, confused, and being passed from one home to another. As time went on, it seemed like no one was willing to give this sweet senior the second chance he deserved. Thankfully, one of our fosters came across a Facebook post saying there were no more options for Leo. We knew we couldn’t let his story end there, so Mini Wonders Adoptions welcomed him into our rescue family. At 8 years old, Leo still has plenty of love and life left to share. He’s happiest curled up in a warm lap, snuggled beside his favorite person in bed, or simply enjoying the comfort of being part of a family. Like many dogs, Leo can be a little protective of his food around other dogs, but with proper management he does well and is eager to be loved. Leo is looking for a forever home where he will never have to wonder if he’ll be left behind again. George was a stray that found his way into someone’s backyard. They didn’t know how he got in but they were determined to keep him in. They were unsuccessful. They tried to fix their fence to keep him in but he kept finding ways to escape. Finally they decided he wasn’t a good fit for them. George wanted to be an inside dog! He wants to be a part of the family. He wants to sleep in the bed with you and sit in your lap! George has done great with his temporary family. He does not try to escape anymore.
