Welcome Maverick to CCPAL Foster Program. Maverick is a 4-year-old Chiweenie. He weighs about 19 pounds. He is good on a leash, good in a car. He is potty trained and very loyal to his person. He knows “go for a walk”, “stop”, “leave it”, “It’s the neighbor” and a few other commands. He is in a home and the owner is having some very big financial issues and need to find Maverick a new home. Maverick has some allergies to food and the food that he can is a Duck and Potato kibble. He has some allergies to grass. He has take Apoquel successfully to handle the allergies. He warms up slowly and is very loyal and bonded once he has bonded. He would be great for a senior couple or single wanting a companion. A nice yard for him to get exercise in would be nice or someone that could have the time to take him on a couple of walks would be great. He isn’t the social butterfly that some dogs are so a matching owner would be the best fit. He would be a great dog to alert you to someone at the door or something being off in the environment. He is good on walks and would help a senior be more active. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. He could go with children but we would like them to be teens. I think a quieter home would be best for this boy. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Addie is about 12 years old and she is super sweet. I took her in from my grandparents when they could no longer care for her. Now I am in the same situation. I want her to go to a home where someone can care for her better than what I am able to. She is an outside dog at the moment and she seems to be good with children and other dogs, from what I have seen. She has a lot of energy for an older dog but she also enjoys lazing around as well. She needs to be fed separately from other dogs and she seems to sleep best at night in her kennel. My hope for her is that she finds a loving home with people who will be happy to have her.

I am needing to find a new home for brownie our 6 year old chiweenie, a mix of dachshund and apple head Chihuahua as our family of 3 has grown with addition of our new born daughter who we have recently found out is allergic to brownie. She is well loved and cared for. Has beautiful black fur with white and brown feet, she is about 10-12 pounds. She is house trained with doggie door or she will whine at the door to be let out side to go potty, she will also use puppy pads if need be. She is playful and full of energy, she loves to fetch and play tug a war. She is good around small children, she will try and share their snacks if in reach, lol! She does bark when someone comes to the door, our little guard dog! she has been around other dogs. She is spayed. Probably in need of a current rabies shot.

Meet Trooper. He was rescued off the street with a litter mate by a good samaritan when they were only about 8 weeks old. The family is moving and could only take one of the dogs, unfortunately it was not Trooper. Trooper is very playful, friendly, knows some commands and has even had some formal training. He is not 100% house trained but is crate trained. He is a happy boy, loves his belly rubs, giving LOTS of kisses and would make a great new family member.
