Story
Meet Red, a 3-year-old Chihuahua mix weighing approximately 10 pounds who is looking for a very special Forever Home. Red came to A Forever Home Animal Rescue after being rescued from a large hoarding situation. Along with several other dogs, he arrived scared, unsocialized, and completely unfamiliar with what it meant to be loved and cared for.
While the other dogs have made tremendous progress, Red remains the most fearful of the group. Although he now understands that people provide food, safety, and kindness, he still struggles to trust and is not yet comfortable being handled. Because of this, Red will need an exceptionally patient adopter who understands that building a relationship with him will take time, consistency, and compassion.
Red's story is one of hope. Every day, he learns a little more about the world and what it means to feel safe. He deserves a home where he can continue that journey at his own pace, without pressure, and with people who will celebrate even the smallest victories. The right family will understand that earning Red's trust won't happen overnight, but the reward of helping him blossom will be priceless.
Red's adoption donation is $300, which includes his neuter, vaccinations, and microchip. He is heartworm negative and on monthly prevention to keep him healthy and happy.
