Story
Pete and Pedro 😊are bonded “brothers”. Pete is 10 years old and weighs 18 pounds. Pedro is also 10 and weighs 14 pounds. They are both a little overweight but they are the sweetest, most lovable boys you will meet. They came to us when their owner went into assisted living and there was no one to care for them. They adapted very quickly and became little love muffins. They love attention and are very affectionate. They prefer to be the only pets. The adoption donation for the pair is $300 which includes their neuter, vaccinations, microchip. They are heartworm negative and on monthly prevention. They must be together so twice as much to love! https://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/store/p168/Pete_%26_Pedro.html We are only able to adopt within the state of Florida. Story
Shurri and Alayah are 2-year-old bonded female siblings. Shurri is a Chihuahua mix weighing 13 pounds, and Alayah is a Shih Tzu Chihuahua mix weighing 13 pounds also. They are very timid until they are comfortable with you, but they are presently in a foster home and doing very well. They enjoy playing in the yard and chasing lizards. They are still learning to walk on a leash, so they do require a fenced-in yard. They would be best with someone who is home most of the time. The adoption donation for the pair is $400, which includes their spay, vaccinations, and microchip. They are heartworm negative and on monthly prevention. They have the potential to blossom into loving, happy girls if someone will just give them the time to learn to trust. They are in a foster home, so we are requesting an approved application prior to a meet and greet. https://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/store/p79/Shurri_%26_Alaya.html

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Joey   Joey is a sweet Chihuahua mix—definitely larger than your typical Chihuahua—and while we’re not quite sure what other breed is in his mix, we are sure he has a gentle heart. He came to Pet Rescue By Judy after being lovingly surrendered when his owner could no longer care for him due to health reasons. Joey’s past has shaped him into a slightly shy and cautious boy. He was used to having just one person and spent a lot of time crated because of his owner’s limitations. Becuse of this, he is not housetrained nor is he accostomed to going outside for potty, walks, or playtime...something his fosters are working on. Having other dogs in his foster home is helping Joey to model after:) At 18 lbs, he is awkward to hold, so would not consider him a lap dog...but he loves to be near his people.  The good news is that Joey does very well in a crate and finds comfort there. Even more heart-melting is how much he wants to be part of whatever is going on around him—he watches with interest and clearly wants connection, even if he’s not quite sure how to ask for it yet. Joey wants to be loved and, with a little patience and understanding, he will blossom into a devoted companion. He would do best in a calm, quiet home with no/older respectful children who can give him the space and reassurance he needs to build confidence and come out of his shell. Having another dog in the home to buddy with and mdel after would be ideal. New owers should be prepared for continued potty reinforcement, walking on leash, and outside playtime. Owner(s) who are home most of the day and who are steady on their feet (as he can be underfoot wanting to stay near you) is best for this sweet boy.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 26, 2025, 2:16 pm

Story
Dexter is a 4-year-old Chihuahua/Dachshund (chi-weenie) mix weighing approximately 26 pounds. He came to us when his owner died and he was being kept in a tiny cage. He is timid but has come a long way. He loves to play tug of war and he is very strong. He gets along with the other dogs but has not been cat or kid-tested. He is friendly and lovable when he gets to know you. His adoption donation is $250 which includes his neuter, vaccinations, and microchip. He is heartworm-negative and on monthly prevention. He is still grieving for the loss of his owner and home so please help him heal. https://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/store/p42/Dexter.html We are only able to adopt within the state of Florida.
