Foster Homes Needed! Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html *****************   Chihuahua Mix Male (neutered) - Adult Looking for that smart, funny guy that can go anywhere and considers new adventures the very best thing in life?  Just pick up a leash and Ace starts dancing around ready to roll. And speaking of rolling, rolling around on the couch or in bed is probably his second most favorite thing to do.  So expect to share both with him and expect to laugh. Treats can also be used to persuade him in to learning cute tricks and are expected when he heads to his crate because that's what a good boy does. Want a dance partner, Ace is your guy. He can do the best little hind leg twirling. He also does love to give soft kisses and snuggles and his coat is so soft, who wouldn't want to snuggle with him. He also watches and is incredibly smart, he may think he is a bit human too.  Ace is a 2-3 years old chihuahua/spitz mix who is fully vetted. Crate trained but not his favorite thing and remember the treat. Potty trained, set ground rules about marking when he enters his new environment and he is smart so knows its not allowed. He has a voice and is not a barker but probably not the best for an apartment. Ace is good with canine family members (a little loud when he plays).  Cats are ok too.  **BECAUSE OF OUR REQUIREMENT FOR A HOME VISIT, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ADOPT TO HOMES IN THE NORTHERN VA / MARYLAND / DC METRO AREA** We have adoption events EVERY SATURDAY from 12-3 p.m. Please note that not all dogs can attend every event, so if you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please complete a no-obligation application on our website at http://www.muttloverescue.org/application.html OR write to adopt@muttloverescue.org. IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit: Caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. ***Special adopter needed*** Meet Winter – The Chihuahua who doesn’t know she needs you. Are you looking for a dog who will love you instantly, sit in your lap and cuddle sweetly, come when you call, stare lovingly into your eyes and gently kiss your nose? Yeah… that’s not this one. Winter came from a hoarding situation, so she missed the class on How to Dog 101. She’s kind of… let’s say… socially awkward and deeply suspicious. She thinks companionship is unnecessary, affection is a scam, and the floor is lava unless she decides otherwise. She’s not broken—just running on some “alternative software.” She possesses the independence of an aloof cat and the stubbornness of a Bassett hound, wrapped up in the tiny body of a Chihuahua that’s bursting with trust issues. This little 15-pound gremlin is all flight and no fight, and those little legs can take her fast and far, so you better hold onto that leash tight. What she’s into: ~Dodging you ~Clutching her pearls with offense and judgment ~Side-eyeing you like you just stole her credit card ~Redefining “personal space”, think big! ~Doing absolutely nothing you asked her to do, unless it’s her idea ~Slowly, very slowly, realizing some humans have tasty treats, but not all treats are good enough ~Leash walks are her jam, just face forward and don’t look at her What she’s not into: ~Fast friendships ~Being touched, picked up, looked at or approached without her express permission, which she won’t give you ~Normal dog things (fetch? kisses? toys? puppy play dates? Pass.) Is she good with other dogs and cats in the home? Like her feelings about you, she couldn’t care less about other pets, as long as no one is trying to eat her or run her over. With time, patience, and a sense of humor, she’ll learn the world isn’t so scary. If you adopt her, and her trust issues, eventually, you’ll probably earn the rarest prize of all: her very reluctant affection (no guarantees). Apply today if you’re ready to love a dog who isn’t ready to love you, but is super cute, deserves better than the hand she was dealt in life, and might one day think you’re alright. Every dog deserves a home! Winter is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from Canine and Kitties Rescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $375.00, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit: Caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Faith! Faith is about 1 year old and weighs about 12 lbs. We believe she looks like a Chihuahua/Doxie Mix - JUST A GUESS. Faith is a very sweet, loveable and smart girl. She is a bit shy at first and needs a minute to warm up to new people. Faith is good with other dogs and would probably be ok with a dog savvy cat. Due to Faith being on the timid side, if there are children in her forever home, they should be dog savvy and 12 years and up. Faith is doing great on her house and crate training. If your looking for a wonderful little companion - Faith is your girl. Faith will require an adopter who is a home a good portion of the day as this is what she is used to in her foster home. Faith is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. The Adoption Fee is $375.00. ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check.
