For such a young pup (estimated at about a year old), Harvey is a true romantic. He enjoys long walks, watching rom coms and being serenaded by his human (he’s told us low, crooning love songs are his personal fave!) He is good with kids, friendly with people and loves to play with other dogs. He is however, decidedly not a fan of the rain and likes a warm sweater when it is cold - can you blame him? Harvey is looking for a family that loves to play and loves having a lowrider under their feet. Expect the pitter patter of little feet wherever you go. He would also love to be allowed in bed with you, as his love language is physical touch so expect a good snuggle. Introducing, Meemaw! Miss Meemaw was found as a stray and wasn’t reclaimed. Which is crazy, because she’s definitely been loved. Meemaw is around 10 years old and 8 lbs. This little lady is the sweetest and your heart will burst when she starts wagging her tail! She is housebroken, good with other dog (does prefer if they’re calm like her), and likes going on walks. Introducing, Queso! Queso was found as a stray in Southern Virginia in rough shape. What we suspected was a partial prolapse turned out to be a bleeding mass. In addition to the obvious, an X-ray showed another mass on his spleen. He had surgery to remove the mass, but sadly the vet wasn't able to get good margins. The histopathology of the mass came back as rectal papillary carcinoma. The good news is that type of cancer doesn't move throughout the body. The sad news is that there is no treatment for it. We don't know how long Queso has left, but we do know that he deserves a happy ending with a family of his own. Queso is about 10 years old and 15 lbs. This sweet Chi mix has mastered the art of being the perfect companion. He’s a mellow, easygoing little guy. His idea of a perfect afternoon? Climbing onto the sofa, settling in comfortably, and taking a nice, long snooze with his favorite human close by. He’s house-trained, has a heart full of sweetness, and comes with a few adorable quirks that make him all the more lovable! He likes to give his food bowl a little bark now and then, and he loves to walk around proudly carrying his favorite pet pig. We are really hopeful that there is a big-hearted adopter willing to give Queso a wonderful home to spend whatever time he has left. Interested in learning more about Queso?
