Jude is a delightful guy that has the goofiest personality you could imagine. CODE RED- 10/11 DEADLINE FOR BEAUTIFUL, YOUNGER CREAM FEMALE CHOW AT COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA ANIMAL SERVICES in San Martin, CA in NOR CAL- “MISS SNOW”- ID #A139623 - SHELTER ASKING FOR IMMEDIATE EXIT ON 10/9 THAT WAS EXTENDED TO 10/11 - needs ADOPTER, OR FOSTER AND RESCUE NOW TO SAVE Her LIFE! See adorable videos in here Facebook post (you will need to copy and paste the link shown below into your browser to view them - they are too large to post here - allows pets all over, and fine with other dog in video This beautiful girl came into the shelter on 10/2 as a stray. She has no estimated age, but appears quite young and mobile in video, and weighs only 44 lbs. We have named her Miss Snow. Shelter notes from 10/06/26 state, “Environmentally distracted, no interest in handler, does not come to handler when called. When attempting to pet displays lip licking and yawning and moves head away. Did not complete any additional handling at this time. Needs rescue by 10/9/26 5pm”. While she is not a regular adoption candidate, she may be considered for adoption with a waiver per the manager, Lorance. CODE RED/EUTH LISTED - Must exit by 3 pm on 10/13 w/ commitment by 2 pm - now has URI and needs entropion surgery DOWNEY, CA- SEAACA KILL SHELTER-ID #27-03470- “PUMPKIN” HANDSOME BUT NEGLECTED to be PTS - NEEDS RESPONSIBLE FOREVER HOME, OR FOSTER AND RESCUE ASAP Please help us find a chow savvy or forever home (or foster and rescue) for this very handsome, but neglected boy found as a stray on 9/25 who now needs medical. We are calling him “Pumpkin ” and we are trying to find placement asap, before he is killed. Rescues need a foster and place for him to go. He needs entropion surgery that a rescue could assist with. The shelter initial notes stated, “able to handle and pet, matter fur, appears to have hot spots on front legs.” Additional notes we just received state: “51.4 lbs., 6 yrs., intact male, able to handle and pet, muzzle needed for exam, unpredictable behavior noted 10/1/26, does not like face handled, appears to have hot spots on front legs, bilateral entropion (superior and inferior lids) both eyes (r/o congenital/breed-related), otitis externa both ears (r/o yeast, bacterial, parasitic, cerumen), severely matted coat (r/o chronic neglect/poor husbandry), pelted mane, on second treatment for kennel cough, sneezing, nasal discharge, needs further medical care. Must receive commitment no later than 2:00 pm 10/13/2026 and pick-up no later than 3:00 pm 10/13/2026, will not hold past 3:00 pm 10/13/2026. No extensions will be given.” We have several videos showing this dear boy. Due to his needs, we are looking for both a forever home, as well as a foster we can refer to as rescue to save him in time, as most rescues need a place for a dog to go. X-URGENT - DEVORE, CA, So Cal - SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY ANIMAL CARE - ID #A85208 'HARRIS' an adorable 1 yr old, small male chow mix under 30 lbs. Rare blue color. Kenneled with an unrelated puppy. Forever home or foster and rescue needed asap at this very full kill shelter. Please note most rescues need a foster or foster to adopt home to save. Help! This dear little, young boy was found as a stray and ended up in a high kill shelter where most dogs do not have long. He has been waiting since 8/17 and is running out of time. The shelter has named him Harris and estimates he is only 1 year old and weighs 29 lbs so he may just be still growing, but was also noted as being a bit underweight and is now on extra feedings. Harris sadly appears to have been dumped, and came in understandably quite shy and scared as is so common with chows and chow mixes. However, he had an upper respiratory infection too which has since been treated. Now feeling hopefully better, he continues to warm up to staff. The shelter provided us with Behavior and medical Notes and most recently state. 9/22/26 - Dog is fearful. With treats and gentle coaxing, dog comes forward and solicits attention. Dog was able to be leashed and walked around facility. Dog is fearful of male staff members and attempts to run away when staff slows down and coaxes dog, dog will go over and start sniffing. Male staff was able to pet and leash walk dog. Dog also climbed into the lap of a male staff member. 9/23/26 - Dog was paired with a young hyper puppy. Dog is tolerating puppy and giving appropriate corrections. If a fight occurs attempts to repair with calmer dog suggested. Dog has solicited attention from other dogs in kennels. Medical Notes: 09/23/26 Noted dog is slightly underweight w/ BCS of 4/9. Placing dog on BID feedings and weekly weight checks. However, the shelter noted that 'During his time at the shelter his behavior has improved drastically and has allowed staff to weigh him.' We are therefore now desperately looking for an adopter or foster and a rescue (please note rescue groups NEED fosters) to save this dog in time.
