Story
He is a loving member of our family and we are having a very difficult time with letting him go, since he will miss him terribly. However, he requires a home that is not as busy as ours. We have had SalCzar for three years, adopting him when he was only a few weeks old. Which may have been too young. He has high anxiety with other dogs and young children. He has bitten in the past. His triggers are... if he is away from our home for a few days on a family vacation or gets a new toy, he gets very agitated after returning and growls aggressively to warn us to stay away. That lasts for 24 hours. Our family does travel a lot and most of the time we are able to take him with us. However, he may require a home with an owner that is not away often and does not have children. Overall he is a good dog. But, will require training to navigate his aggression. We tried ourselves, unfortunately our family dynamic with children and our travel really impacts his ability to adapt.

Story
How this pet arrived: Mufasa was brought in by Humane Law Enforcement on November 15, 2023. Why this pet is the one for you: Introducing Mufasa, a majestic boy in search of a new place to call home. Mufasa can be a bit conflicted when meeting new people but he has made a set of friends in the shelter who can brush him and handle him! It takes time for new people to get to this level, so he's looking for a patient and understanding adult home with low traffic where he can decompress at his own pace. Once he is comfortable, this boy can be quite the goof ball! Mufasa loves to chase small critters and finds it his duty to walk the perimeter and scan for intruding wildlife. Familiarity with the Chow Chow breed is a must for his new owners, as these dogs have unique characteristics. If you have experience with Chows and are ready to provide a calm and stable environment, Mufasa could be the loyal companion you've been looking for. If there's a resident dog, a meet-and-greet is required to ensure compatibility. Bring the whole family in to meet Mufasa and bring a leash and a martingale collar (or purchase one when you arrive), to take him home! Be a part of his journey to a new beginning and enjoy the rewarding experience of having this regal pup by your side! Primary Color: Brown Weight: 51.4 Age: 3yrs 5mths 0wks

Story
Ooo ooh! Pick me! Pick me! My name is Maddy and I was dumped at at high kill shelter. I was super sick (antibiotics cleared me right up!) and I was all skin and bones. Angels at AWFA rescued me in the nick of time and I am ready to find my forever family! I am such a good girl - A loving, beautiful, sweet blonde bombshell who loves everyone I meet.  I'm good with some other dogs but would love to be an only dog to get all of the attention.  I like kids but would probably do best in an adult home.  I am house trained! I'm a quiet girl but will alert you if needed. I am looking for my furever family to snuggle and cuddle and love. Is that you?! ***************************************************************    Interested in adopting this pet? Story
Meet Rocky! He’s a sweet 8.5 year old Korean Jindo mix who loves attention. He loves to cuddle and be with his people. He’s smart and food motivated to learn new things. His current foster puts him a sit/stay while he places his food down and then releases him to eat, which he does very well. He’s also potty trained. When you talk to him he'll give you this funny look like he’s trying to understand. He is ok around other dogs, until he gets impatient with them. This is very common for Jindos. He would do best in a house without other animals. His healthy recently took a turn and he can only use his back legs 5% of the time. He has seen a primary Vet, a Chiro, an internist and an Neuro and they’re not sure of the cause. He is still very cognitive and fully aware of everything around him, his back legs just do not want to cooperate. He has a wheel chair which he is learning to use. He’s hoping his forever home is out there to help him navigate his remaining years. He can’t wait to find his forever home.   Meet Rocky!
