I'm a sweet southern gentleman who loves a nice stroll through the woods. I walk nicely with a harness and love exploring. I love adventures and car rides. I'm the perfect passenger and will look out the window or lay down in the back seat. I may even poke my head up front to give you a kiss. I know "sit" and "down" and will do both happily and even without a treat! Since I can be a little shy, I do best with a slow introduction. Once I warm up and trust (doesn't take too long especially with some yummy treats and a gentle touch), I love with my whole heart. I'll lean in for snuggles and belly rubs. And I'll be all tail wags. I've even been known to do some zoomies when I get excited to see my favorite people. I will be best in a home with no kids under 10 years old. And I'd really love to be the only dog for you to love. I can be reactive in new situations so living in a condo, apartment or townhouse are not recommended. I'm really good at letting you know if I'm feeling uncomfortable and my usual happy wagging tail will droop. I prefer to live a nice quiet life. City life isn't my style. Meet MUFASA the lion king! Mufasa is a gorgeous 2.5 year old, 47 pound, red Chow Chow! This strikingly handsome guy is sweet, friendly, and lovable. This tail wagging pup loves to get pets, is becoming playful, and also settles down nicely -- Mufasa can chill comfortably when you are busy with your work. He has great house manners and would be fine in apartments/condos as well as houses; he would be great with a single person, couple, or family with older children (e.g., 8 or above). Mufasa is smart, and LOVES to go for walks. Poor Mufasa was found and turned into a Maryland vet practice and then the overcapacity Baltimore County shelter! It is clear that he had a home that taught him to sit for treats, etc., but he apparently ended up homeless for sometime and no one came to look for him! He is so happy that PetConnect has come to his rescue to find a forever family that will give him the attention that he deserves and never end up in such a scary place as a kill-shelter ever again. Mufasa would love to curl up with you to hang out on a cool spring night; he loves to get pets! He would be an excellent new member of the family! Sissi is a black Chow Chow mix, DOB approximately 5-10-2023. Sissi has a front leg elbow that was broken sometime in her past and healed so that she cannot bend that leg. The vet calls it chronic dislocation of the right front elbow. She has hip dysplasia on the right hip. Sissi has a very pronounced limp, but she can climb and run and play. She is a sweetheart, loves to be petted and loves to play. The adoption fee is $50. This covers the cost of spay/neuter, DHPP, Rabies, Flea, tick, heart worm check, worm treatment, and microchip. Clifford. is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. Clifford was dumped on the side of a rural road with a litter of puppies. They were rescued by good Samaritans. Clifford is a super wonderful dog. He is very sweet, gentle, and good-natured. He is super sensitive and scared of mean voices, rough treatment, and dogs that are mean to him. He needs to be treated gently so he will trust you. Once he trusts you or another dog, he is very playful and loves playing. He especially loves puppies and gentle children. Clifford has shown an interest in cats, so he may not be good with them. Clifford is mostly Chow. He weighs around 60 pounds and we estimate he may be around 2 years old. Clifford is crate-trained, knows how to sit, and walks well on a leash. He rides well in a vehicle but is a bit nervous about getting inside the vehicle. Clifford is fabulous with nice children. He is shy with new people (especially men) and takes some time to trust. We are sure he was abused by whoever had him before. Clifford does need work with housetraining (sure he has never been in a house before) and could probably use other gentle obedience training. We want Clifford to be in the house as a loved member of the family. He needs to be walked on a leash and would like a securely fenced yard to run and play. Clifford is healthy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Clifford has been treated for heartworms and they are now dead. He is on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Clifford's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to Hagerstown MD or Quicksburg VA. Clifford is being fostered in Texas and cannot be transported until after he is adopted.
