Story
Take a look at this handsome guy- it's Todd! He was affectionately named Todd because he looks like the fox from Fox and the Hound! He's a 3 year old neutered male possible Chow Chow mix weighing around 42lbs. Todd is such a happy boy who loves to play with toys. He's already mastered fetch, bringing you the toys that he wants you to throw. When playtime is done, his favorite thing to do is cuddle with you on the couch. Todd was a little uncertain at first when meeting another dog here, but once he got comfortable he was ready to play! He'd probably do best with a patient doggy sibling who will give him the time he needs in his new home!If you are interested in meeting this pet, please call us at (804) 748-1683, option "2", to schedule an appointment. Our hours are Monday - Friday, 10:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, 10:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Primary Color: Red Weight: 42.4 Age: 3yrs 0mths 2wks

Meet teddy! Teddy is a loving and loyal dog with a great personality. He’s the kind of dog that quickly becomes part of the family—he enjoys being around people, getting attention, and just hanging out with his owner. Teddy has a calm side but still enjoys playtime and getting his energy out. He does well with a routine and would thrive in a home where he gets consistent attention, exercise, and care. He’s the type of dog that bonds closely and likes to be near his person. This isn’t an easy decision, but i want to make sure Teddy goes to a home where he’ll be well cared for and given the time and attention he deserves. He would do best with someone who can provide a stable, loving environment.

Story
Meet Bronco! He arrived at the shelter as a stray and he is about 3 years old. He has been neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.Bronco is a quiet soul with a gentle heart. He arrived at the shelter unsure of the world around him and is still learning what it means to feel safe. At first, he can be shy and reserved, taking his time to observe and understand new people and situations. But beneath that cautious exterior is a deeply sweet dog who just needs a little patience and kindness to truly shine. The shelter environment can be overwhelming for Bronco. He much prefers the calm of being outside, where he can relax and enjoy the company of his people at his own pace. Those quiet moments are when you start to see the real Bronco; the one who leans in gently and is learning to trust. He’s still figuring out how to just 'be a dog'—learning how to play, how to let his guard down, and how to embrace the simple joys of life. With a patient and loving home, he has all the potential to blossom into a loyal, affectionate companion. If you'd like to be Bronco's furever home you can call (540) 778-2101 or email animalshelter@pagecounty.virginia.gov.

Story
Meet Ursula! This elegant 7-year-old chow chow retriever mix is as loyal as they come and carries herself with a calm, confident charm. Ursula may be a bit shy when first meeting new people, but once she feels safe, her bold and devoted personality truly shines. She forms strong bonds with her people and will happily follow you wherever you go.Ursula is a big fan of the quieter side of life. She absolutely loves cuddling up with her humans and enjoys being brushed—spa days are her favorite! When she’s in the mood to play, she gravitates toward hard plush toys that squeak, happily entertaining herself or inviting you to join in.Because she can be a little reserved at first, Ursula would do best in a home that will give her time to adjust and build trust at her own pace. Once she’s comfortable, she becomes an incredibly affectionate and loyal companion who just wants to be by your side. We’re not yet sure how Ursula does with other animals, so slow, thoughtful introductions will be important to help set her up for success. With patience, love, and understanding, Ursula will blossom into a deeply devoted companion. If you’re looking for a calm, loving dog with a loyal heart and a gentle soul, Ursula is ready to become your perfect match.

Meet Mickey! 🐾 Mickey is a 1-year-old Chow mix with the most handsome face — and yes, that adorable purple tongue definitely turns heads! At 45 lbs, he’s the perfect medium-sized companion with a balanced, medium energy level that makes him a great fit for so many homes. This friendly, affectionate guy loves everyone he meets. He’s wonderful with children and does great with other dogs; in fact, he absolutely loves playing with his canine buddies! Mickey walks nicely on a leash, is house trained and crate trained, and shows no signs of separation anxiety. Mickey is adventurous, athletic, curious, and very food motivated (training win!). He’s often seen proudly carrying his toys around, ready to spark a game at any moment. He thrives on interaction and would do beautifully with a family or an active single looking for a loyal, playful companion. He has met cats and is curious about them and learning appropriate boundaries! Mickey is sweet, obedient, and full of personality, a truly special dog ready to find his forever home. If you’re looking for a loving best friend with a playful spirit and a heart of gold, Mickey might just be your guy. Apply today -
