Story
SIMBA IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO VA ONCE ADOPTED!    Simba is shy at first, but warms up.  That is classic chow chow behavior. His lovely reddish coat is more labrador like.  Known for their loyal nature, chows may not be the life of the party, but they love movie night with their family! He is friendly to other low key dogs. When he met a younger small dog, his body language relaxed completely and his tail went to wagging.   He is house trained, crate trained, walks well on lead, and loves a car ride. He is treat motivated and a quick learner. He is wary of strangers (to him) that approach the fenced yard, which is pretty standard for the chow breed. They are known to be protective of their family.  Simba's best home will have a secure fence and medium activity level, where he can take walks with his family or hang out on the couch. A previous history of excellent vet care for current or previous pets is required. We have not kid tested Simba, so we would not place in a home where there is a lot of activity without additional assessment.  If you love the chow breed without the chow fluff, Simba will be a great companion. He is fully vetted. Vetting includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies and all puppy vaccinations. His adoption fee of $600 includes the transport to VA. We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Simba up north to his new family.   If you have any questions, please email us at: newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com   You can apply to adopt Simba here: www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net   THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 21, 2026, 10:14 am

Story
Meet Minnie! Minnie is a 1 year old mix who was found as a stray in PG County. Though her breed is unknown, she does have a blue tongue and a silky soft grey coat (And bonus-she doesn’t shed much!) Minnie has playful puppy energy and is very affectionate. She’s a bit low to the ground, only 35 lbs, and loves to stand on her hind legs to get closer to your level. Minnie is still very much a puppy, and while she is house trained, she has just started learning basic obedience commands like “sit” and “down”. Although she is crate trained and does well inside it, she also makes it clear that her favorite spot is right next to you. She hasn’t had formal leash training yet, but she doesn’t pull too much, she just is enthusiastic to sniff everything! She’s tough on toys (stock up!) and adores: * Playing with other dogs * Car rides * Kongs stuffed with peanut butter * Meals served in puzzle feeders Minnie is brave, friendly, food-motivated, curious, funny, playful, and very snuggly. She does show some resource guarding with high-value items, so she may do best as an only dog or with an experienced adopter. That said, she loves other dogs and would be thrilled to have doggy playdates. If you’re looking for a loving, cuddly companion with lots of personality and silly antics, Minnie may be your perfect match 💕 https://www.fureverhome-rescue.org/adopt

Story
Meet Boswell! This handsome man was transferred to from Animal Rescue Corps & he is ready for a fresh chapter full of love and patience. Boswell is a lovely gentleman, but we do not recommend him for first time dog owners, he`s a very sweet & loving Chow Chow who can certainly benefit from an adopter who can help him work on his confidence & leash manners, just remember to do any introductions with either people, places, or animals slowly! He can be a bit nervous/timid around new people & places, so he will require any children in his future home to be at least 12+(but if you have younger kids and experience with Chows we can discuss this!) Additionally, he is a double coated breed so adopters should be prepared for regular grooming & brushing. Lastly, Boswell is recommended to have a full blood panel once a year to monitor his liver enzymes! This handsome gentleman needs a special home that will give him the time, love, and patience for him to grow into his family. Our kennel team will be happy to answer any questions about him when you come to visit!
