Story
I'm Narang, a 6-year-old Jindo Chow mix with a heart full of love. I was rescued just in time from a shelter in Iksan Si where I was sadly facing euthanasia. I adore people so much that I might bark a bit when I first meet someone new, but it's just my way of saying hello. In no time, I'll be nudging you for pets and cuddles. I'm polite with other dogs; I'll say hello, but I'm not much of a rough player. If another dog barks, I might get a bit excited, so I prefer a calm atmosphere. Food, though, I don't mind sharing at all, whether it's with humans or furry friends. During walks, I might pull on the leash a bit, but I'm generally good at following your lead. I'm currently recovering from heartworm treatment, so occasional diarrhea is part of my healing process. However, I'm a good eater and prefer doing my business outside. I dream of finding a forever home where I can be the center of someone's world. If you're looking for a loving companion who craves your affection and is ready to share a lifetime of joy, I'm your girl. Let's make memories together! Adopt me, and let's start our journey of love and happiness. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIsLTtIpe3Jzj_0ZnVvkvGDkBXoz2jVy1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H40gvTvIdsc&list=PLIsLTtIpe3Jzj_0ZnVvkvGDkBXoz2jVy1&index=4 https://youtu.be/H40gvTvIdsc?si=RsAUfxedNW1lXidc https://youtu.be/F4ec8oStfa8?si=OjuCqoVAgFVeFy8x https://youtu.be/HsilthM_ef0?si=reHSkb851kMpBHKt

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Hi, I'm Astro, a 8-year-old Chow/Lab mix. Don't let my serious face fool you, I'm a goofy sweet guy! I like to get to know my people slowly, but once I do I love your pets and scratches and I'll even sit in your lap! I'm very food motivated and guard my food and toys with growls and can be stubborn. I love to go for walks and walk well on a leash. I know lots of commands (sit, stay, up, down, lay down, shake, wait, let's go) and love performing for treats. I was recently in a foster home and here are some of my likes/dislikes that they shared about me… Like: food!, exercise/walks and agility, butt scratches, sleeping in my crate, chewing my toys, watching out the window, music, water, other dogs, comfy beds, getting baths Don't like: brushes, towels and loud trucks Astro would do best as the only dog in a house without kids or other small animals since he can be protective and is strong. He will need a family familiar with protection breeds like chows. Astro is neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. His fee is $200.

Story
Clifford. is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. Clifford was dumped on the side of a rural road with a litter of puppies. They were rescued by good Samaritans. Clifford is a super wonderful dog. He is very sweet and good-natured. He is a beta and almost all of the other dogs love him. Some of the little male dogs like to intimidate him but he simply tries to ignore them. He is very playful and loves playing with all of them. Clifford has shown an interest in chasing cats, so he may not be good with them. Clifford is mostly Chow. He weighs around 60 pounds and we estimate he may be around 2 years old. Clifford is crate-trained, knows how to sit, and walks well on a leash. He rides well in a vehicle but is a bit nervous about getting inside the vehicle. Clifford is fabulous with children. He is a bit shy with new people (especially men) and takes some time to trust. We are sure he was abused by whoever had him before. Clifford does need work with housetraining (sure he has never been in a house before) and could probably use other gentle obedience training. He gets scared when someone yells or talks in a mean voice. Clifford must be in the house as a loved member of the family. He needs to be walked on a leash and would like a securely fenced yard to run and play. Clifford is healthy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Clifford has been treated for heartworms and they are now dead. He is on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Clifford's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to Kent, Arlington, or Bellingham WA. Clifford is being fostered in Texas and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. Story
MEET JULIAN - a 4-5yr. old Pure Bred petite Chowchow, rescued from Apple Valley shelter, CA - and he so wants a lovely home in WA that he can call his own! It is his Christmas wish~. ADR.org primarily rescues (one dog at a time) from high kill CA shelters. The situation and the damage that is done to these incarcerated dogs is unbelievable. JULIAN had been abandoned in Apple Valley and was barely alive when he was admitted as stray into the shelter. They did not know that he was so weak due to canine corona virus and another pneumonia, they thought he was only hungry (!). When ADR.org saved him from this shelter, he went straight to the vet where was diagnosed with beforementioned pneumonias. JULIAN immediately was put on IV with antibiotics, vitamins, and fluids. At that point he was down to 36lbs while he should have at least 47-50lbs. ADR.org is thankful that he survived. In September he was cleared by CA vet and ADR.org could put him on a trusted ground transport (https://www.startrescue.org/. (used for most of ADR.org's rescued dogs) and has been living with the founder of ADR.org on Orcas Island, WA, and other furry friends ever since. Enough time for assessment, socialization with other dogs. JULIAN is pure bred Chow Chow but smaller in size than other chows that ADR.org also has on Orcas Island (e.g., posted BUBBA, and ZITO). JULIAN is under 5 years old, weights now 48lbs. shows a “typical chow personality: he wants HIS Human with a calm but strong pack leader mentality. JULIAN can be feisty and playful at times- so we would not recommend a home with children under 12years – All dogs adopted through ADR.org are altered, microchipped, fully vaccinated (Rabies, Distemper/parvo, Leptospirosis, Bordetella, Furthermore, you will have their shelter record and a full bloodwork report and other documentation from the vet clinic. From observation and assessment, ADR.org would recommend a structured, and calm home with not too many people coming and going; a home where people cherish him, love to go on hikes on the weekend and during the week intend to go on multiple walks with him. He walks nicely with the right harness. A solid fenced in backyard would be a nice PLUS as he loves to run and “patrol” his one acre here on Orcas Island). JULIAN also likes things structured, likes his routine. His compatibility with cats is guarded and would need an experienced owner around in that case. ADR.org has cat evaluated him and I am happy to share that video with you. He would love a girlfriend, but would accept with a non-boisterous, too energetic male dog. If you are interested in hearing more about JULIAN, contact me, the founder of ADR.org by emailing me to ADR@animaldefenserescue.org and tell me something about you and why you think you want to give JULIAN a home that I so wish for him. There are more videos that can be shared with you as well. He so deserves his own home! Share a bit about yourself in email, add some photos and we will have a phone call then to discuss more and get to know each other better. WOOFLY, JULIAN and ADR.org

Story
MEET BUBBA - a gentle 5yr. old Chowchow/Samoyed Mix (ADR.org did gene test) rescued from New Mexico rural shelter - and he so wants a lovely home in WA that he can call his own! ADR.org primarily rescues (one dog at a time) from high kill CA shelters. The situation and the damage that is done to these incarcerated dogs is unbelievable. BUBBA came up with a trusted ground transport https://www.startrescue.org/. (like most of ADR.org's rescued dogs) and has now been living for a while with the founder of ADR.org on Orcas Island, WA. Enough time for assessment, socialization with other dogs. BUBBA is 94% Chow Chow and 6% Samoyed. BUBBA is about 5-6years old, weights 58lbs. He was owner surrendered at a New Mexico shelter located close to an air base: Owner had no more time for him and was going out of country to another airbase. All dogs adopted through ADR.org are altered, microchipped, fully vaccinated (Rabies, Distemper/parvo, Leptospirosis, Bordetella, Furthermore, you will have their shelter record and a full bloodwork report and other documentation from the vet clinic. BUBBA is a good soul, very calm, settled, and balanced. From observation and assessment, ADR.org would recommend a calm home with low energy, not too many people coming and going; a home where people cherish him, love to go on hikes on the weekend and during the week intend to go on multiple walks with him. He likes its structured, likes his routine. BUT BUBBA is not compatible with cats, be it in the household itself or visiting over the fence from somewhere else. He has a strong cat prey drive. He likes female friends, and would be compatible with a non-boisterous, too energetic male dog. He walks wonderfully on a leash and does not pull. If you are interested in hearing more about him, contact me, the founder of ADR.org by emailing ADR@animaldefenserescue.org and tell me something about you and why you think you want to give BUBBA a home that I so wish for him. There are plenty of videos that i can share with you from Google Drive as well. He so deserves his own home! Let me know a bit about you in the email, add some photos and we will have a phone call then to discuss more and get to know each other better. WOOFLY, BUBBA and the founder of ADR.org
