Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Hi, I'm Astro, a 8-year-old Chow/Lab mix. Don't let my serious face fool you, I'm a goofy sweet guy! I like to get to know my people slowly, but once I do I love your pets and scratches and I'll even sit in your lap! I'm very food motivated and guard my food and toys with growls and can be stubborn. I love to go for walks and walk well on a leash. I know lots of commands (sit, stay, up, down, lay down, shake, wait, let's go) and love performing for treats. I was recently in a foster home and here are some of my likes/dislikes that they shared about me… Like: food!, exercise/walks and agility, butt scratches, sleeping in my crate, chewing my toys, watching out the window, music, water, other dogs, comfy beds, getting baths Don't like: brushes, towels and loud trucks Astro would do best as the only dog in a house without kids or other small animals since he can be protective and is strong. He will need a family familiar with protection breeds like chows. Astro is neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. His fee is $200.

Story
Background: Imagine a sweet, gentle soul, rescued from a dog meat farm, now ready to fill your life with quiet companionship and unwavering loyalty. That’s Samdol. In May 2022, we discovered this beautiful boy at a dog meat farm in Siheung, Korea, one of 101 lucky dogs saved that day. While his past left him understandably traumatized and fearful, his gentle nature shone through even then. The first two years after his rescue, Samdol lived in our boarding house, slowly learning to feel safe. Recognizing his potential, we enrolled him in training school for a year, and he blossomed! He graduated, a testament to his resilience and his desire to connect. He currently lives at our boarding house with other dogs, waiting for his forever home. Personality and Socialization: Samdol is a wonderfully gentle, submissive, and quiet boy with medium energy. He’s a great player with other dogs, large and small, puppies and seniors. He’s mindful and never pushy or aggressive in his interactions. While he’s a little shy with new people, Samdol’s love of treats makes it easy to gain his trust and affection. Once he warms up, he is sweet, gentle, and friendly, and very easy to care for. Behaviours: Samdol is pretty easy-going and low-maintenance. He’s non-destructive and doesn’t bark. He enjoys relaxing, often sitting quietly to watch the world go by. He loves his playtime with other dogs. He handles car rides, baths, and vet visits well, accepting them with quiet grace. He walks well on a leash and enjoys outdoor time, though he can be a little nervous in new environments. Health and Diet: When rescued, Samdol had severe skin diseases, but he has fully recovered and is now healthy. He is up-to-date on his vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered, and receives monthly parasite prevention. He eats dry food twice a day and has shown no allergies. He does have some worn front teeth from chewing the wires when he was at the dog farm, but our veterinarian has confirmed this doesn’t affect his health. He will undergo a dental checkup one more time before he leaves Korea. Ideal Home: His ideal home is with someone who has experience with dogs, especially rescue dogs. While Samdol is incredibly gentle and sweet, patience and guidance in a new environment will help him settle in. A quiet home, where his people are often present and appreciate a loving dog companion, would be perfect. He would thrive in a single-person household just as well as in a family setting. This amazing boy has been through so much; we want his forever home to be one where he is spoiled with love and lives a wonderful, happy life. Samdol is a very charming, cute, goofy, and lovely boy. With the right family, he will shine, and his adopter will feel so lucky to have him in their life. Story
[Sirius is ready for his flight to Seattle upon adoption] Background: Sirius was rescued from a city pound in Ansung last November—just days before his scheduled euthanasia. Since then, he’s been living safely at our boarding facility with other rescue dogs, waiting for his second chance at a happy life. Personality and Socialization: Sirius is a bright, affectionate boy with a medium energy. He bonds quickly with people and doesn’t take long to warm up to new faces. Friendly and social, he genuinely enjoys human company and loves being part of everyday life—especially when it includes a good walk or outdoor time. He’s intelligent, eager to please, and responds well to gentle training. Sirius gets along well with most other dogs, particularly those who are gentle and enjoy playtime. He can be a bit avoidant with dogs who are too dominant or overly energetic. He hasn’t been tested with cats or young children. Behaviours: Sirius loves cuddles and spending time close to his people, but he’s also happy to quietly entertain himself with toys or relax nearby. He’s independent enough to stay calm when left alone for a while, making him an easy dog to care for. He prefers outdoor potty breaks but is also comfortable using pee pads indoors when needed. He travels well in the car, behaves nicely during vet visits, and is patient during bath time. Health and Diet: Sirius is in great health. He’s neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and receives monthly parasite prevention. He eats dry kibble twice daily and has had no issues with allergies or sensitivities. Ideal Home: Sirius would do best with someone who’s home most of the time—perhaps a retiree, remote worker, or anyone who enjoys having a dog as a constant companion. He would love a family who enjoys walks, nature, or even just lounging around together. A home with another friendly, well-mannered dog would be a great match, though Sirius would also be happy as a solo dog receiving lots of love and attention. If you’re looking for a sweet, clever, and loyal friend who’ll stay by your side through it all, Sirius could be your perfect match. Story
[Ready for her flight to Seattle upon adoption—currently in Korea] 🐾Background: Luna was rescued from Chuncheon City in August 2024, along with her mother and siblings. Since her rescue, she has flourished at our partner shelter, growing up surrounded by other dogs and forming strong social bonds. Four of her siblings have already found loving families in Canada, and now it’s Luna’s turn to find her forever home. 🐾Personality and Socialization: Luna is a sweet and gentle girl with a happy-go-lucky attitude. Her friendly and loving nature reflects her mother’s calm and warm temperament. She adores people and greets everyone with enthusiasm, showing no signs of shyness. She gets along well with other dogs and thrives on playtime, especially with friendly canine friends around her age and size. Luna has not been introduced to cats or children. 🐾Behavior: For her age, Luna is well-behaved. She’s calm during car rides and handles vet visits well. Even bath time doesn’t seem to bother her much. As she’s been living in a shelter environment, Luna has limited experience with walks, but she’s eager to learn and takes in her surroundings with curiosity. She’s a quick learner who thrives on routine. While Luna prefers doing her business outdoors, she’s also comfortable using pee pads when needed. 🐾Health and Diet: Luna is spayed, microchipped, and fully up-to-date on her vaccinations. She is parasite and heartworm-negative and receives monthly preventatives. Her diet consists of dry kibble twice a day, and she has no known allergies or health concerns 🐾Ideal Home: Luna would do best in a loving home where someone is around most of the time. She thrives on companionship, so having another friendly dog would make her feel more at ease and bring out her playful side. Luna would be a wonderful addition as a second dog, as she enjoys having fur companions by her side. A calm, relaxing lifestyle would suit her perfectly, providing a gentle and nurturing environment for her to truly thrive.
