Story
I'm Narang, a 6-year-old Jindo Chow mix with a heart full of love. I was rescued just in time from a shelter in Iksan Si where I was sadly facing euthanasia. I adore people so much that I might bark a bit when I first meet someone new, but it's just my way of saying hello. In no time, I'll be nudging you for pets and cuddles. I'm polite with other dogs; I'll say hello, but I'm not much of a rough player. If another dog barks, I might get a bit excited, so I prefer a calm atmosphere. Food, though, I don't mind sharing at all, whether it's with humans or furry friends. During walks, I might pull on the leash a bit, but I'm generally good at following your lead. I'm currently recovering from heartworm treatment, so occasional diarrhea is part of my healing process. However, I'm a good eater and prefer doing my business outside. I dream of finding a forever home where I can be the center of someone's world. If you're looking for a loving companion who craves your affection and is ready to share a lifetime of joy, I'm your girl. Let's make memories together! Adopt me, and let's start our journey of love and happiness. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIsLTtIpe3Jzj_0ZnVvkvGDkBXoz2jVy1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H40gvTvIdsc&list=PLIsLTtIpe3Jzj_0ZnVvkvGDkBXoz2jVy1&index=4 https://youtu.be/H40gvTvIdsc?si=RsAUfxedNW1lXidc https://youtu.be/F4ec8oStfa8?si=OjuCqoVAgFVeFy8x https://youtu.be/HsilthM_ef0?si=reHSkb851kMpBHKt

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Hi, I'm Astro, a 8-year-old Chow/Lab mix. Don't let my serious face fool you, I'm a goofy sweet guy! I like to get to know my people slowly, but once I do I love your pets and scratches and I'll even sit in your lap! I'm very food motivated and guard my food and toys with growls and can be stubborn. I love to go for walks and walk well on a leash. I know lots of commands (sit, stay, up, down, lay down, shake, wait, let's go) and love performing for treats. I was recently in a foster home and here are some of my likes/dislikes that they shared about me… Like: food!, exercise/walks and agility, butt scratches, sleeping in my crate, chewing my toys, watching out the window, music, water, other dogs, comfy beds, getting baths Don't like: brushes, towels and loud trucks Astro would do best as the only dog in a house without kids or other small animals since he can be protective and is strong. He will need a family familiar with protection breeds like chows. Astro is neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. His fee is $200.

Story
Animal Profile:  Millie was listed as a ~2 year old retriever mix, but based on her personality we think she is maybe a little Chow with a sprinkle of street dog. She weighs 32lbs. She is a traveler at heart - she walked herself right across an international bridge and found herself in Del Rio, TX. Our rescue partners scooped her up and she is enjoying life in foster care. Warm bed, squeaky toys, and people and pets to play with. We are excited to meet this happy girl here in Seattle! Foster Update: Update on this girly.  She's doing great! She has settled in enough that she will work for cheese on our walks and is giving good engagement. She's getting 2, hour plus walks every day and is now way more comfortable around bikes and strangers. Honestly if I didn't have a senior kitty I'd be tempted to keep her; she’s got good house manners and is very well behaved in her crate. Millie is a little insecure meeting new people that come right into her space, and she prefers to take things slow but does warm up. With continued training and proper socialization she’ll be a wonderful addition to the right family. She has already learned sit, down and come and has pretty good recall with minimal effort. Millie does have some reactivity when other dogs bark and lunge or come right into her space. We are working on this, but she will need an adopter committed to continuing her training. She lives to sniff and enjoyed her hike, pretty easy going on leash, but also needs proper intros to new dogs. Millie would do best in a single family home with a fenced yard - she loves to sit outside and enjoy the smells. She would do well with a confident, dog social cat, but does have prey drive towards small animals outside the home.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog is being transferred from Animal Advocacy & Rescue, our partner in Del Rio Texas, and arriving via Paws Up Rescue on 03/25/24 to the Seattle area. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated in foster care. September 15, 2024, 1:38 am

Story
In a round-about way, through a friend of a friend's daughter, we have been fostering this cute, 10-month old Chow for about 2 months. We've tried to do a good job of socializing him & feel he is ready for his forever home. He's fully potty trained, knows sit, working on come, heel & stay. Does well on a leash, except when he sees a rabbit & wants to chase it. Doesn't bark at people or other dogs while on a walk. Seems to like most people, but has growled & jumped at a few that have approached him. When meeting a new dog he doesn't warm up quickly, but he does have a few neighbor dogs that he enjoys walking with. Seems to like cats. He's good with waiting to eat his food, but does get a little possessive of chewing treats. He is still a puppy & kind of a goof ball at times, especially when he gets the zoomies at night. Loves belly rubs. He would do best with an experienced dog owner. Hope to find someone who will love & appreciate him for the dog & breed that he is.

Story
Angus is a gem! This strikingly handsome 2-year-old Chow/Pitbull mix is ready to be your new best friend. Whether it's going for walks, hiking, zooming around the backyard, or chilling out to watch some tv, Angus is thrilled to do all of it! Angus' foster has so many good things to say about him, but if they had to pick one thing that's their favorite, it's that "he will play with stuffies by himself for SO long, shaking them, chewing them, romping around and throwing them." Angus has met several dogs and can be picky about who he becomes friends with. Any introductions to resident pups should be done slowly. We don't know if he's ever lived with cats, but he does enjoy chasing rabbits and birds, so introductions to cats should be done carefully. Angus can be a little shy with noises and commotion, so he will likely do best with just teens and adults. Angus is not a fit for an apartment or condo and prefers to live in a quiet, calm neighborhood. If you're ready to open up your heart and home to this lovely lad, send in an adoption application today! *Angus is currently located in foster and is not in the shelter#playful #cuddler #activelifestyle

Story
Meet Aiden, rescued from Korea and a young Jindo pup.  Aiden is a good boy but he is worried at first about meeting new people. He did not have a great start in life and as a result he can be unsure of himself. He is in a wonderful foster home where he is patiently guided to become a little more confident. Aiden will do best with other dogs who are social and confident so that he can learn from their example. He is not suitable for a home with kids or cats.   Aiden is young and has a full life ahead of him. We hope to find him a dedicated person who is willing to continue working with him so that he can live his best life.  Aiden is vaccinated, chipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $395. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! Fill out the form, save it to your hard drive, then email back to sian@gingerspetrescue.org Hi!  My name is Venus from Korea and I am a wonderful approximately 6 month old female Jindo.  I am approximately 22 lbs. and so excited to find my new forever home.  I am very happy, affectionate, and friendly.  l was saved from the Korean dog meat trade.  I don’t know how I ended up there, but I was so scared and I used to hear the cries from the other dogs as they were taken away.  The activists came and saved us and I can't wait to come to America and find a family to love and care for me forever.  Approximately over a million dogs a year are slaughtered to be eaten.  I am so lucky to get a one-way ticket to Seattle to find my new family.  Take me on car rides, walks in the park, and I will become your best friend.  I get along well with people of all ages, gentle kids, and other dogs.  I will do best with a loving family that can give me lots of love, and affection!  On all overseas adoption, we highly recommend our pet rescue dog trainer who will come to your home and help train your new pup for only $75.  My adoption fee of $1,495 will cover my spay/neuter, DA2PP shots, Rabies, Bordetella, Deworm, Heart Worm Test, Microchip, Boarding Fees, Health Certificate and airline transport cost from Korea to Seattle.  A GPS tracker or Apple AirTag is required for all adopted dogs. You can bring your own when adopting or you can purchase an AirTag from us   We cannot guarantee breed or age. The adoption fee is firm and helps save the life of another dog needing rescue and our other dogs in need of medical care.  Donations are always appreciated to help pay down our vet bills at Greenwood Vet.  Ginger's Pet Rescue is a non-profit 501C-3 organization.   The adoption fee is donated to the rescue and is tax deductible.   Please e-mail   admin@gingerspetrescue.org   for an adoption application.
