🎤 Oops... she stole your heart again.
Meet Britney Spears, an 8-year-old, 10-pound miniature poodle with undeniable star power. She may be a young senior, but don't tell her that. Britney still has plenty of pep in her step, loves her toys, adores her people, and fully expects to be treated like the celebrity she knows she is.
When Britney landed at our local shelter, they reached out to us for help because she was a senior with KCS (chronic dry eye). We were more than happy to make her an official Misfit—and while she was in our care, she also received a full dental with the extractions she needed, so she's all cleaned up and feeling fabulous.
Like any true diva, Britney has opinions. She gets along well with other dogs and has even lived with cats, but she's not afraid to remind everyone who's the headliner. She does best with someone who understands the wonderfully sassy poodle personality and isn't afraid to lovingly tell her, "Nice try, Britney." Think of yourself as part owner, part talent manager.
Her favorite thing in the world? Snuggling with her favorite humans. She especially bonds quickly with women, although she does warm up to men too. She can be a little reserved when meeting new people, but once you're in her inner circle, you'll have a loyal little shadow who wants to curl up beside you, follow you around the house, and accompany you on all of life's adventures.
Britney would be happiest in a quieter home without young children or lots of chaos. We think she'd make an incredible companion for a retired person or anyone looking for a sweet little best friend who still enjoys getting out and about before coming home for couch cuddles.
Her KCS simply means she needs daily eye ointment or drops and an occasional gentle wipe to keep her eyes comfortable. It's an easy part of her routine, and it certainly doesn't slow this little superstar down. As with any medical condition, we recommend regular veterinary checkups to keep her eyes healthy.
If you've loved poodles before, you already know exactly what you're getting: intelligence, charm, comedy, just a tiny sprinkle of sass... and enough personality for a dog three times her size.
Britney is ready for the next chapter of her career: being the center of someone's world, collecting toys instead of awards, and reminding her family every single day that she's still got it.
