Story
Poor Layla was forced to live on a rope for most of her young life in a backyard in S. Central. No socialization or engagement. Just complete isolation from everything that she needed. We got her and boy are we glad we did. She is so much fun, so full of life. She is very house respectful, loves to play and toss her toys around. She also is a great cuddler when it's time to wind down. She is about 2.5 years old and 16 pounds. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Please direct all questions to adopt@crdogrescue.com. All our dogs can be met with an approved application. Story
Lilly was brought into a veterinary clinic to be euthanized because she had become "inconvenient". One of the vet techs (along with the vet) decided against that route and took her to the Carson shelter for a temporary hold until a rescue could be found. We could not say no. Lilly is sweet, even tempered and loves to take walks. She is a very good eater (and could actually stand to lose a few pounds) Medically, Lilly had some issues. She had a badly injured right eye which had to be removed. There was also the issue of an umbilical hernia and four mammary tumors. All of which have been take care of. Lilly's foster says she is an absolute delight! Having one eye doesn't slow her down and neither does her age. 12/1/25- Pepper came to us with her puppies about 2 and half months ago. Now is her time to shine. She is a wonderful . Sweet but shy pup. She loves all dogs of all sizes. She is very passive and shy. She does wiggle her cute butt like crazy but will dance around debating if she should come pick your hand. She is great with children. If you have the time and patience to give. You will never regret her. She had a very gentle spirit and lots of love to give. She rides well in thr car. She went to the vet and received her clean bill of health and shots. She is about a year and half and 15lbs. He can sometimes guard people and may lash out if he feels cornered, so he would do best in a home committed to helping him work through these behaviors with patience, consistency, and plenty of exercise. This girl is on fire! Meet Leasha Keys (AKA Alicia Keays), the tender terripoo who is ready for her second chance. This 1.5-year-old and 16lb sweetheart came to us as an owner surrender from Taft after her family moved into a home that didn't allow pets. All four of their dogs were surrendered to Shelter Hope. Leasha is a soulful girl who loves quiet moments and gentle pets. Even when she is feeling nervous, she’ll lean in for snuggles and return the love with little small kisses. She does great with other calm dogs. She walks well on a leash and likes car rides! She's a pro at using the doggie door and appears to be housebroken. Her foster tells us that she is such a love, and that they enjoy her every day! Right now, Leasha is being treated for an eye injury that has caused some swelling. She’s safe, comfortable, and getting lots of love in her foster home as she rests and heals. We’ve started her on a new eye drop to help with inflammation, and it’s possible she may need ongoing medication unless the eye is removed. That decision will be made at her 8-week checkup.
