MEET ARCHER…who could pass as a Doodle, but we’ll just call him a 3-4 yr old, creamy white, 16 lb, Poodle mix, whose hair has finally grown back. He came into the shelter matted to the bone with a slash on his neck, which needed to be surgically repaired. We have no idea how or where it happened, but it is all better now 🙂 Then, this poor baby was neutered, pulled his cone off and “went to town” on his groin area and his testicle blew up to be the size of a large pomegranate! OUCH!! Now that he is back to normal, he is a rambunctious boy who is calming down after his ordeal but he is definitely an active boy.
Archer does have an abundance of energy and really needs a home that can embrace and direct him with walks, hikes, playing, experiencing the world! Archer is great on walks. He has two speeds….fast and faster BUT he will heel for you and be very obedient when you direct him. He would be great to go on a run with you! He is very smart and will train easily. Seems to understand potty training, but we never guarantee!
One thing we know for certain, Archer doesn’t like being left alone. Having a canine companion with him will do the trick. He is a real gentleman in the car, once he settles in, and loves to go everywhere with you. Need a companion for coffee? He’s your guy! But we think that Archer would love to have a brother or sister so that he doesn’t get bored when you have things to do! A yard would be a plus so that he can run around and play, play, play.

Lhasa Happy Homes will be now holding our adoption events the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month on Main Street in Santa Monica (check calendar link below for special events and directions). Our event is located at 2116 Main Street, in Santa Monica, CA. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household. Main Street is famous for its innovative shops and is close to the beach! Make a day of it!! Metered parking on the street and free parking on 4th and Bicknell Streets.
Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household....and do some fantastic shopping at the same time! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring pictures or video of your home and yard if we have not done a home check (preferred)! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting!
