Sometimes the most resilient souls come from the hardest beginnings, and Shane is the living proof.
Found abandoned and tied to a pole on the streets of Philadelphia, Shane spent days waiting for help that didn't come. When he finally arrived in our care, he was in unimaginable pain from a severe leg infection. To save his life and end his suffering, we had to say goodbye to that leg—but in doing so, we said hello to the real Shane.
Now that the pain is gone, Shane has been completely transformed. If you saw him today, you’d never know he had a rough start. This sweet boy doesn't see himself as "limited"—he just sees a world full of things to love!
He navigates the world perfectly on three legs. Being pain-free has given him a second lease on life, and he spends his days soaking up every bit of joy.
His absolute favorite place is outside in the grass, feeling the sunshine on his fur.
Shane is "easy-peasy." He is gentle, sweet, and gets along wonderfully with his foster siblings.
He doesn’t ask for much—just regular meals, a soft place to land, some good head scratches, and a family to call his own.
Shane has spent enough time waiting. He waited for days on that street corner, and now he’s waiting for you. He is a master of resilience and a total lovebug who just wants to share his new, happy life with a forever family.

A very small population of our dogs will not be altered. A refundable deposit of $125 will be added to the adoption fee for any dog that is not spayed or neutered. The deposit is refundable with proof of surgery and a copy of your contract.
Many of our dogs have lived with cats. While we don't assess for cat compatibility, with thoughtful introductions and your guidance, successful dog-cat relationships are common.
