Name: Yeti Best Guess for Breed: Shih tzu and poodle mix Best Guess for Age: 5 years as of June 2026 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 16.5 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! He currently lives in a foster home with a five year old and has been extremely respectful. We haven't seen him with cats but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Yeti is Looking For: His forever home! Yeti came into the shelter with his coat severely overgrown and matted, which is not cool at all (literally and figuratively). He's eager for his new chapter, where he gets to walk without painful mats all over his body and without his vision hindered by his overgrown coat. This means he wants an adopter who will ensure he gets brushed daily and goes for regular professional grooming. He deserves better than he got before this! He's gonna be right there by his humans' side on sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up, and when they're chilling together after a fun day together. What My Foster Says About Me: Yeti is the sweetest boy! If you're looking for a calm, cuddly, companion to keep you company, Yeti is your guy. He may take a little time to warm up to new people because he's been through a lot, but once he trusts you, he is incredibly affectionate and loves to be near his people.Yeti is mostly potty trained and does very well in his crate, which he considers his safe space. He happily uses it for naps and sleeps soundly there overnight. He has a very gentle play style and will often initiate play with other dogs by adorably poking them with his nose. Overall, Yeti is a gentle, loving dog who is looking for a patient family that will give him the time he needs to build trust and show his wonderful personality. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
