Simba is a small adult dog with a sweet and loyal personality once he feels comfortable. He loves being around his person and enjoys a calm, structured environment. Simba is crate trained and does well with routine. He can be anxious in new situations and around unfamiliar people, which may cause him to bark or become defensive. He will likely bark quite a bit during the first few days as he adjusts to a new environment. Because of this, Simba would do best in a home with an experienced dog owner who understands how to give him time and space to adjust. He would do best in a home without small children. Simba would do best in a house rather than an apartment, as he can be vocal at times. A home without carpet is preferred. Simba has so much love to give and forms a strong bond with his owner. With patience, consistency, and the right environment, he can be a very loyal and rewarding companion. We are looking for a home that can provide him with stability.

Welcome ladies man Cash to OBG!  Cash is an absolute doll - affectionate, playful, obedient and 100% adorable. He is a 2-year-old, 23-pound cockapoo.  He is an active boy but settles down nicely and loves couch cuddles and sleeps all night in his own bed. On walks, he likes to engage with other dogs and is not leash-aggressive. Cash has been fine around his senior foster brother and may enjoy a playful playmate. Cash is house trained and will go to the door when he needs to go out. Cash is wary of men, so an all-female, adult home is his ideal home. He enjoy watching all the activity out the front door and will bark to protest his home, but is easily redirected. Due to his need for an all-female, adult home, condo and city living isn't ideal for Cash as he needs a quieter environment. Story
Shiloh came to us from a rural hoarding situation, one of those places where an animal can disappear unnoticed in a county with too few resources and too few people to notice a tragedy playing out next door. Thankfully, Shiloh made his way to us, and now he's living the good life and waiting patiently for his forever. On first meeting, Shiloh is shy. But give him five minutes, and he's happy to get pets and snuggles. He is super soft and charming. He is white and fluffy, like a cloud. Shiloh is the total package. He is a great walking companion, rides well in the car, is fine at home on his own, snoozing along on a dog bed. He is very quiet and would do fine in either an apartment/condo or with a fenced yard. His exercise needs are fairly low -- a few fun walks, and he's all set. He is very far along on his housetraining, although you may want to break out the belly bands or puppy pads to help him transition to his new home. He loves other dogs and is happy to play with them or just cuddle up and snooze. He would love to have a confident dog in his new home to help him get acclimated. He's also fine with having feline friends. Medically, he's in very good shape. He came in with an impacted tooth which will need to be removed, but no significant or long-term issues. He's plenty mobile, can do stairs, and sees and hears just fine. He's hoping his new home is fairly calm and quiet (so he can nap) and is full of love and snuggles. Story
Meet Zeke! Zeke came to the Haven from a home where he was a beloved family member. Unfortunately his family could no longer care for him, so he's in the market for a new one. The benefit of adopting a dog like Zeke is that he knows how to behave properly in a home and exactly how much he is entitled to be worshipped. Zeke is housetrained, rides well in the car, and sleeps through the night. He enjoys gentle walks around the neighborhood (10-20min/2-3x a day) and will try to chase squirrels and bark at birds, but walks very nicely on a leash. He has also started trotting like a little pony on walks when he's in a good mood! When he is left alone for a few hours, he usually just settles down for a nap. He should wear a belly band when he's alone, however, as he may want to stage a small protest to your absence. He LOVES cuddles and massages and gets "happy hops" and grunts like a piglet when he wants attention and cuddles but otherwise will settle in the same room as you. (He knows "go lay down"). He likes his licky-mat and treats, which he takes very gently. He has discovered he likes toys! He will do a very light version of "fetch" where you throw his favorite toy about 4ft away and he grabs and shakes it while bringing it back. He absolutely loves any type of affection and touch, massages and cuddles. He enjoys having lots of soft dog beds to choose from at naptime. Zeke has lived successfully with cats and other calm dogs, but he does sometimes engage in resource guarding. So, if he has other animal friends, they need to respect his space. He has done well with older children (we haven't had a chance to observe him around littles). He likes a calm environment and lots of naps, so it might be best to stick to older kids. He does not like being left in a room alone when you're home. When you're home he needs to be where you are or he will bark. (He's currently serving as a furry paralegal and makes a great office dog!) Zeke arrived with some masses, which are being addressed, and a cough from a mild case of collapsing trachea, which is helped by medicine. He has more limited vision at night and may have reduced hearing. He can still see well enough to go up and down the stairs. If you would like a polite, cuddly, well-behaved shadow, come meet Zeke.
