Story
Kingston is a sweet boy, but was not socialized properly as a puppy so he is anxious and reactive toward other dogs, especially on a leash. He has bitten several people, in situations where he is resource guarding or feels like his space has been invaded. He needs a new owner who has a very quiet household, and will respect his space. He is house-trained, loves doing brain games, playing fetch and learning new tricks. He is adorable and is mostly a love, but his unpredictability with nipping and biting means we can't keep him.

Story
Coco is a lovable 7-year-old female Cockapoo who weighs about 15 lbs. She is a sweet, affectionate companion who enjoys being with her family and thrives in a calm, predictable environment. Coco does experience some separation anxiety, and we've been giving her calming anxiety treats, which have helped her stay more relaxed when we're away. She does best with people who can provide her with consistency, patience, and plenty of companionship. She has been wonderful with our own children, but she is not comfortable around other kids. Because of this, we believe Coco would be happiest in a home with adults or a family with older children who understand and respect her boundaries. This has been a difficult decision for our family. As our schedules have become increasingly busy, we can no longer give Coco the time, attention, and routine she deserves. We want to find her a home where she can receive the love and care she needs for the rest of her life.

If you are interested in adopting or fostering this dog. Please visit our website - www.cockeradoptions.org   There, you will find the current status of the dog, the links to our adoption and foster applications, and detailed information about our adopting and fostering procedures.   08/11/2026 - Videos: Meet McFlurry. McFlurry likes treats. McFlurry on the move. MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is McFlurry, and I arrived at CSAC about a month ago from a shelter. I have had a tough start. I was found stray, and I had a broken back leg. Everyone was amazed that I was walking around on it. I had it for so long, the bones could not mend back together so the vet suggested amputating the leg. Unfortunately, I had to wait for surgery to remove the leg. I had an upper respiratory infection and a skin infection around the area where my surgery was going to take place. No one wanted to put me in even more danger. The great vets kept me comfortable while I waited for the antibiotics to clear up the infections. I finally had the surgery to remove my broken leg. You can see I am on the mend and waiting to find my new, loving home. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished pet. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen. 🐶 Looking for a Loving Home for Jake❤️ This is one of the hardest decisions I've had to make, but I'm looking to rehome my sweet boy, Jake, to a loving family. Jake is a young, friendly dog who loves people and does well with children. He's playful, affectionate, and has so much love to give. My hope is to find someone who has the time, attention, and space to give him the life he deserves. This decision was not made lightly, so I will be selective about where he goes. I want to make sure he's placed in a safe, responsible, and loving home. If you or someone you know is interested in giving Jake a forever home, please send me a private message. Serious inquiries only, please. Please share this post to help Jake find the perfect family. Thank you. ❤️🐾

Story
Angel came to us after being surrendered by her owner's son, following her owner's passing. She arrived horribly matted, with bleeding warty masses, severely diseased teeth, and inches of dirty, tangled fur. She is feeling much better now! In her foster home, she has learned her name, where to line up for meals, and how to go up and down the stairs. Angel is a sweet girl who is doing so well with all the changes in her life. She is basically housetrained, although it wouldn't hurt to have some potty pads available, especially when she transitions to her new home. She rides well in the car. She doesn't seem to have much experience with leashes, so she'll need a fenced yard at her new home. She is fine when left loose alone in the house and generally sleeps through the night. Angel's vision and hearing are not 100% but she can still get around very well. She would like to be the one and only dog in her new home, so she can get all of the attention. She would do best in an adults only home or one with children old enough to respect her boundaries. She's hoping her humans are home a lot and want to give her lots of snuggles. When Angel first wakes up, she dances like she's excited to greet each new day. When she goes out to potty, she barks to let the world know that she's there and will be doing her business imminently. Angel is approx 12 years old and 11 lbs. Fostered in Gaithersburg, MD. Please apply at mirishaven.org.

Story
Biscuit just celebrated his 13th birthday, and he's hoping that 13 will be his lucky year! He is soft, fuzzy, and the perfect size to sit in your lap. He wants to be your constant and forever friend. One look into his gentle and loving eyes, and you'll know he is the perfect addition to your family. Biscuit clearly has experience living with people, as he has excellent house manners. He is housetrained, good on the leash, and respectful of your property. He is a consummate snuggler. He is good with other small dogs and would be fine in a household with older children. Biscuit sees and hears well and is fine with going up and down stairs. Biscuit enjoys leisurely walks and will get a burst of energy during play time. He likes toys that squeak and can be rough with them, but it's his way of releasing stress. He loves to be attached at the hip and will lay his head on any part of your body! Biscuit wants to be around his humans as much as possible, preferably directly in his line of sight. When left on his own, he will be anxious and will bark and whine. He is currently taking some medication to help him control his anxiety but the best medicine is being near his people. He also gets anxious driving in the car and will be happier if someone holds him during the car ride. If you want a curly white shadow to share your life, come meet Biscuit right away. Biscuit is approx 13 years old and 11 lbs. Fostered in Haymarket, VA. Please apply at mirishaven.org.
