Zamboni is a 1–2 year old Cocker Spaniel/Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix who weighs 16 pounds. Small enough to fit comfortably into almost any lifestyle, handsome enough to turn heads everywhere he goes, and charming enough to win over even the referees, Zamboni is ready to skate straight into his forever home. If you're looking for a dog who can join you on neighborhood strolls, weekend adventures, coffee shop patios, or even air travel, this little guy checks all the boxes. Just like the famous Zamboni glides across the ice making everything better, this Zamboni has a remarkable talent for making every room he enters a little happier. The MVP of Your Home Every hockey team has its superstar. Every family deserves a Zamboni. After just a few days in his foster home, he decided his official job description was Personal Assistant, Professional Supervisor, and Full-Time Best Friend. Need to unload groceries? He's there. Making dinner? He's inspecting your work. Folding laundry? Clearly requires supervision. Heading to another room? Don't worry...your tiny coworker is already following you. He's what we lovingly call a Velcro dog, but not in an overwhelming way. He simply enjoys being part of your life. Whether he's stretched across your feet while you answer emails or quietly lounging beside the couch, he just wants to know he's included. And while he enjoys affection, he isn't demanding about it. A few scratches behind the ears? Perfect. A kiss or two in return? Absolutely. At bedtime, he'll happily curl up at the foot of the bed, content simply knowing his people are nearby. Possibly Smarter Than Your Smart Speaker We're beginning to suspect Zamboni has secretly been downloading software updates while everyone is asleep. Nobody has intentionally taught him many of the words he knows... ...yet somehow he keeps figuring them out. The longer he's been in foster care, the more language he's picked up. Conversations that once meant nothing now seem crystal clear to him. His foster family jokes that he's basically becoming Siri or Alexa. Mention a walk? He's ready. Ask where someone's going? He's already there. Wonder aloud where his toy is? He'll probably help you find it. He's incredibly observant, highly intelligent, and genuinely enjoys using his brain. Hide-and-Seek Champion The kids in his foster home invented one of Zamboni's favorite games: Hide-and-Seek. His mission? Locate the missing human. He proudly uses his nose and impressive detective skills to track everyone down, looking ridiculously pleased with himself every time he succeeds. He would absolutely thrive with a family that enjoys teaching tricks, inventing games, puzzle toys, or simply talking to him throughout the day. He's the kind of dog who pays attention. Really pays attention. Future NHL Draft Pick: Fetch Specialist If there were professional fetch leagues... Zamboni would absolutely try out. Fetching is his greatest passion. Well...almost. Here's the catch. Zamboni has opinions. He doesn't believe fetch should involve one person standing in exactly the same spot endlessly throwing the ball. After several identical throws, he'll look at you like... 'Seriously? We're doing this again?' He prefers interactive fetch. Move around. Change directions. Keep the game interesting. He's not looking for a pitching machine. He's looking for a teammate. Honestly...he may be onto something. The Perfect Blend of Energy Zamboni has settled into what we'd describe as a wonderful medium energy level. He's become a bit more playful as his confidence has grown, and he enjoys daily walks, games of fetch, backyard adventures, and exploring with his family. Once he's had his fun? He's completely content stretching out nearby for a nap or quietly hanging out while life happens around him. He's equally happy joining you on an adventure or spending a lazy Sunday watching hockey from the couch. (He'll probably critique the officiating.) Blanket Engineer Extraordinaire Every great athlete has a pre-game ritual. Zamboni buries things. Obsessively. Blankets are apparently magical vaults designed specifically for hiding prized possessions. Favorite toy? Hide it. Chew bone? Hide it. Treat? Definitely hide it. Watching him carefully 'bury' something under a blanket that everyone can still plainly see is comedy gold. Sometimes his foster family has to gently remind him that perhaps one hiding spot is sufficient. Walking Partner Material Zamboni enjoys neighborhood walks and generally strolls with a loose leash while taking in all the interesting sights and smells. Squirrels? Worth noticing. Birds? Very suspicious. Cats? Also interesting. Fortunately, he's responsive and redirects nicely when reminded it's time to keep moving. He's curious about the world without being difficult to handle. A Gentle Soul Like many thoughtful dogs, Zamboni doesn't feel the need to introduce himself to every stranger immediately. He prefers to observe. Take everything in. Decide everyone seems trustworthy. Then... His affectionate personality shines. Give him a little patience, and you'll be rewarded with one of the sweetest, most loyal companions imaginable. He's also wonderful with children and genuinely enjoys interactive play and spending time with people. The Perfect Home Zamboni would thrive with a family that wants a dog involved in everyday life. Someone who enjoys walks. Someone who likes tossing a ball... ...while also being willing to move around a little. Someone who appreciates a clever dog that understands far more than you'd expect. He'd make an outstanding companion for families, couples, retirees, or anyone looking for a loyal best friend with a wonderful sense of humor. Your Starting Lineup Needs One More Player Some dogs simply live in your house. Zamboni becomes part of your team. He'll celebrate your victories. Comfort you after long days. Follow you through every room simply because you're his favorite person. And before long, you won't remember what life looked like before your own personal Zamboni came along and made everything run just a little smoother. Now taking applications for his forever team. No hockey experience required...but enthusiasm is highly encouraged. July 9, 2026, 5:24 pm
