Story
History: Jedrek is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon! A Note from the Foster: Jedrek is such a sweet pup. After having some time to warm up, he loves to play and snuggle. He has the funniest zoomies! Jedrick is so far tolerant of baths and likes to be brushed which is very helpful considering he has the luxurious cocker spaniel hair! That being said, he needs a home that can provide him the regular playtime, ample amount of snuggles, and regular grooming. Jedrek has so far been staying quiet in his kennel over night but will destroy any blankets or towels left in with him. Due to his young age, I imagine he could adjust to many house types whether that is kids or other pets. Apply now for a chance to meet this lovely boy!

History: Darwin is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon! A Note from the Foster: Darwin is a gentle, old-soul dog with a naturally sweet disposition and quiet charm. He has a polite way of approaching people that makes it hard not to fall for him, especially once he feels comfortable in his surroundings. When settled into a loving home, he shows pockets of playfulness and enjoys calm companionship with his people. Darwin is sensitive to change and can be fearful in new environments. Sudden loud noises or unexpected objects may cause him to retreat and shake, though reassuring pets and a calm presence help him regulate. He is currently comfortable in his foster home but will need a patient adopter who understands that confidence comes slowly for him. Darwin also has Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca (dry eye), a manageable condition that requires daily eye medications to keep him comfortable and protect his vision. With proper care, he does well. Darwin is best suited for a quiet, predictable home with compassionate adopters who value patience, routine, and a strong human-dog bond. In return, he offers steady affection, loyalty, and the kind of presence that quietly fills a room. He is working on potty training, and while he may be an older dog, he is proving that he is capable of learning "new tricks" with consistency and encouragement.

Story
History: Chinny is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon! A Note from the Foster: Chinny (or as we like to call him, Jimmy Choo) is a sweet, gentle guy. He’s happiest when someone is nearby to snuggle or play with him, especially children! Jimmy loves attention from people and will “hug” your legs when he wants attention or pets. Chinny is working hard on his potty training and does best when kept on a consistent schedule. He’s doing great overnight and has had very few accidents. He does potty best when on a short walk around the neighborhood (Chinny is great on a leash!). Chinny goes into his kennel without issue and sleeps soundly through the night. He doesn’t mind spending some time in his kennel during the day and has been using it at his “safe, calm space”. He has been a very quiet dog and only barks a few times at night in his kennel when he's not quite ready for snuggle time to be over :) Chinny is still learning the ropes of being a house pup. He’ll need a patient family willing to help him continue his potty training and manners. Chinny is still learning what all of the sounds of a regular household sound like and he is nervous around loud noises/quick movements. Being a curious boy, he tends to jump up to see where the great smells are coming from in the kitchen. He's a smart guy and with consistent training he'll have no trouble learning to stay down. As a cocker spaniel, Chinny will require regular grooming (every 4-6 weeks) and weekly brushing to maintain his beautiful, soft coat and prevent matting, tangles, and skin issues. Chinny has NOT been introduced to other dogs in our care but we feel he would do just fine with another dog in the household and may enjoy the extra attention and play time from another furry friend. If you’re looking for a snuggly, playful companion to come home to, Chinny is your guy! He’s ready to find a forever home to love him up. He would make a truly amazing family dog with his chill, easygoing personality and interest in playing with children.

Story
History: We welcomed a group recently from a partnering organization of ours, Villalobos Animal Rescue. Scrub has warmed our hearts with his goofy and loving personality and would love to find a forever home soon! A Note from the Foster: Todd is an amazing pocket rocket! He is loving, very energetic, very food/treat motivated, smart, goes into his kennel like a champ to sleep and to take breaks from the everyday hustle and bustle of daily life. He loves people and laps at naptime. He has energy for days and his tail never stops wagging. He doesn't mind cats or dogs. He is a little protective of toys and food and needs some management when he has something he should not have (trade vs take). He is extremely smart and is learning so much in his foster home. He picks up new commands very quickly. He would love to do all sorts of training. He is a lovely dog and good companion for anyone….individual, couple, or family with mature kids.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  I know you want to meet me!!! Come to the Underdog Headquarters (3345 Dakota Ave, St. Louis Park, 55416) on Thursday, February 12th from 5:00-6:30 pm. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs. Lady is an 18&#226&#128&#145pound Cocker Spaniel sweetheart who believes her true calling in life is to be your personal shadow, couch companion, and professional snuggle consultant. She’s friendly and outgoing at home, and while she may start off a little cautious in new places, she warms up quickly—especially if treats are involved. She is extremely food motivated and will happily demonstrate her “sit,” “come,” “shake,” and “outside” skills in exchange for snacks. She’s partially blind in her right eye, which gives her a bit of mysterious pirate&#226&#128&#145princess energy, and may explain why she’s not a fan of chaotic environments or overly enthusiastic dogs. Big, bouncy dogs? Hard pass. Bossy little female dogs? Also no thank you. Calm senior pups? Absolutely—she’ll happily share space with the chill crowd. Lady came to us with 30% vision in her right eye due to juvenile cataracts because of this she will be more prone to glaucoma in that eye and will need annual eye check ups. Lady loves small squeaky toys, stuffies, and anything that makes noise when she pounces on it. She’s slightly active with a moderate energy level, meaning she’s always up for a walk, a car ride, or running errands, but she’s equally thrilled to curl up next to you and soak up all the affection you’re willing to give. She’s a world&#226&#128&#145class snuggler and will happily join you on the couch or in a chair, molding herself into whatever shape is required for maximum coziness. She’s potty trained, walks nicely on a leash, and prefers a fenced yard because she’s not consistent about going potty on leash. She can be a bit barky in the crate at first, but she settles with time. She’s good with cats, good with adults, and likely best with older or considerate kids who understand her gentle, slightly nervous nature. Lady is a happy, goofy, affectionate little love bug who just wants to be with her people. She’ll make you smile with her antics, warm your lap with her snuggles, and brighten your days with her sweet, soulful presence. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
