Meet Fancy! 🖤🤍 This beautiful 5-year-old black and white Cocker Spaniel is a breeder release with the softest coat and the sweetest, gentle soul. She’s looking for a patient, loving family that will help her continue discovering how wonderful life as a cherished companion can be. Since arriving in her foster home about a month ago, Fancy has had time to decompress, adjust, and begin showing her true personality. She’s become much more comfortable with everyday life and isn’t nearly as worried about loud noises, TVs, or quick movements as she once was. With a little patience and a loving home, she’ll continue to grow in confidence and show just how special she really is. Fancy is potty trained, kennel trained, and trustworthy when left loose in the home. She’s calm, quiet, and respectful indoors, making her an easy housemate. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, happily following them around for comfort and companionship, and she peacefully ignores the resident cat. While she isn’t much of a playmate, she enjoys simply being part of the pack. She’s still building confidence on a leash and will benefit from continued practice. Like many breeder release dogs, Fancy can become frightened in unfamiliar situations, so she should always remain securely leashed and should never be off leash. A secure, above-ground fenced yard is required, as her curious nose loves to follow scents, especially chipmunks and other little critters! Car rides are another area where Fancy is making progress. She rides nicely when secured in a kennel, though she should always be securely leashed before the kennel door is opened, as she may try to dart out. Because travel can make her anxious, she may need a quick potty break after car rides before heading indoors. Regular grooming will be an important part of keeping Fancy looking and feeling her best. Harper is a 3.5 month old Yorkie and Cocker Spaniel mix who weighs about 7 pounds. She is energetic and playful, but loves to crash for naps. Harper loves being with people, can be timid with larger dogs, and enjoys splashing in her water bowl. She enjoys toys and wrestling with her sister, Spot. Harper will be spayed Monday, August 10th. She will have a vet check at that time as she is possibly hearing and/ sight impaired. She and her sister, Spot, will be at the events on August 15th and 16th. It is a requirement to have a second dog in the home as a guide dog. Harper is not potty trained but will bark to go out if in her kennel. Adoption fee is $450.00 plus applicable taxes and fees. It’s clear Daisy spent most of her life confined to a kennel or small space with very little human affection, and now she’s learning — step by step — that she deserves so much more than simply being used to have puppies. She’s discovering what it means to feel safe, cared for, and truly loved for the very first time. Daisy is shy and cautious at first, but beneath that timid exterior is a dog who desperately wants connection. She has started climbing onto the bed beside her foster family and will quietly inch her way within arm’s reach for gentle pets, though she still avoids eye contact while she builds confidence. The sweetest part? The moment you stop petting her, she scoots just a little closer, silently asking for more. She’s also beginning to discover how to simply be a dog. Daisy watches her foster siblings carefully and has started sneaking toys away to investigate when she thinks nobody is watching. She enjoys turkey tendon chews, carrots, lick mats, and just about any treat you leave for her in a quiet, safe spot. She’s never pushy for attention or food and would much rather hang back and observe until she feels comfortable. Daisy is crate trained, does very well in her kennel, and knows commands like “outside” and “kennel/crate.” She’s making great progress with potty training when kept on a consistent schedule. She is still learning leash skills, but because she is easily frightened and remains a flight risk, a secure fenced yard will be required for her safety. Loud noises, thunderstorms, and overwhelming commotion can still be very scary for Daisy, so she would thrive in a calm, patient home that understands healing takes time. She greatly prefers the company of female dogs (who can blame her after all those years of breeding) and simply asks another confident canine companion (who won’t give off baby making vibes) in her forever home to help continue showing her the world is a safe place. Daisy Duke is not the kind of dog who will rush into your arms on day one — she’s the kind who quietly changes your heart forever. Watching her learn to trust, seek affection, and slowly bloom into the dog she was always meant to be is something truly special. She’s ready for a family who will give her all the love, patience, and gentle kindness she has waited her whole life to receive. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe.
