Story
Age: Almost 5 years Weight: 33lbs Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Unknown Kid friendly: Yes Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes We have been fostering Snickers for 2-1/2 weeks. He is a super sweet almost 5 year old chocolate cocker spaniel. He is calm and friendly with everyone he meets. He may be a little shy at first but laps up every bit of attention he can get. He loves to snuggle with me on the sofa. He has mixed feelings about his crate. He had done well when we’ve left him crated during the day (30-60 minutes). He sleeps well at night (in bedroom) once he’s in it. After getting him in with a treat and help on the last step, and talking to him for a few minutes he’ll settle for 8 hours or so. He has been good about potty training, but does need more leash training as he still circles and tugs some. He has been learning “come” (with a treat and hand signal) and “sit” when inside. Good with dogs and kids (5+). If it is too much activity, he goes and lies out of the way. Snickers would be a great addition to any dog friendly home. Adoption fee: $695

Age: Est DOB 11/30/25 Weight: 18 pounds Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Yes, Older/considerate kids only Potty trained: Almost! Crate trained: Yes, especially good at night. Still learning daytime crate use. Leash Trained: Yes “Hello! I’m Magneto (although my foster family has called me Tod, and I’ve come to learn this name). I’m a friendly, spunky puppy looking for my best friend.” From the moment Magento came into our home he was immediately attached to the foster “mom”. He will likely be someone’s constant shadow. He did well with our middle-aged cat and relatively well with our toddler but we are recommending that he not be with smaller children in the home. When meeting strangers, he takes a second to warm up but is immediately a best friend, looking for cuddles and pets. He has done well with other dogs we have met, and is very playful with dogs who want to play with him! He is an eager and quick learner of commands. He has “sit” down already! When let outside, he does well with “go potty” and gets a treat when successful. We have had just a few accidents inside with regular letting out to potty. He does not necessarily enjoy his crate and will cry out for attention during the day and eventually settle down to take a nap. At night he goes to sleep in the crate without issue. He’s a big fan of squeaky toys and will play fetch with them! More than anything he is looking for someone who wants lots of cuddles and kisses and a constant companion. Could that be you? 🤗 Adoption fee: $795

💜 Come meet me at our Adoption Event at Spike & Houles in Stillwater on Sunday, 9/13 from Noon - 2pm! 💚 Age: EST. DOB 11/09/2022 Weight: 28 pounds Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Unknown Kid friendly: Yes Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Working on it! Does well in a gated area Hello, world! My name is Grogu, and I’m searching for my forever family! My foster family says I’m making wonderful progress every day. I am sweet, affectionate, loving with an adorable personality. I adore the people in my foster home and love following them around just to stay close. I’m truly happiest when I’m with my humans. My Favorite Things Couch time: If you’re watching a movie, I’ll be right there, happily snuggled beside you. Bedtime: Sleeping near my favorite people is the perfect way to end the day. Toys: I love playing with toys! I’m still learning to share my favorites with other dogs, so supervised toy time helps me be successful while I continue practicing. House training: I’m fully potty trained with a consistent routine. My Skills & Manners Walking: I’m doing wonderfully on leash, and outings with me are a breeze. Crate time: I’m still getting comfortable with my crate. I share my opinions when crated or left in a gated area for about 15 minutes. When I've been allowed to have free roam, I'm quiet and make no messes. I'm continuing to work on this! I’m a loving, devoted dog with so many snuggles to give. I can’t wait to find my person—or people—to love for good. Could that be you? Adoption fee:$695

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Quigley is a gem—and the best friend you’ve always wanted. Quiggley, a 5-year-old Cocker Spaniel with a gentle spirit, a curious nose, and a heart that’s deeply devoted to his people. This very happy boy is even happier now that he is free from ear pain after having TECA surgery on both ears. Although most of his hearing is gone, Quiggley remains alert and incredibly aware of his surroundings. Whether he is hearing certain sounds or sensing vibrations, he still responds when our resident dogs bark. We’ve been working with Quiggley using a vibration collar to teach him commands, and he is doing so well! He is a very smart, loving boy with so much potential. We are also using hand signals to communicate with him and to praise him, including when he does his business outside. Quiggley loves his people and is happiest when he is right by your side. No matter where you go, he wants to be near you—which is especially helpful when he can’t hear! His potty training is about 90% complete, although he does still have occasional accidents. With patience and consistency, we expect him to continue making progress. And then there’s his loyalty. Quiggley is devoted to his people and wants nothing more than to be your constant companion. His fur is incredibly soft, and his eyes sparkle when he looks at you. He has a way of making you feel like you are his whole world. Quiggley will need continued follow-up care for his itchy skin, but he is already receiving help from a fantastic dermatologist who has been working closely with us. Quiggley is smart, affectionate, loyal, and incredibly special. He may have lost most of his hearing, but that hasn’t diminished his ability to love or connect with his people. We all need a Quiggley. ❤️ Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Good with dogs,
Story
Harper is a 3.5 month old Cocker Spaniel/Yorkie mix who weighs about 12 pounds. She is energetic and playful, but loves to crash for naps. Harper loves being with people, can be timid with larger dogs, and enjoys splashing in her water bowl. Harper does well with the larger foster dogs in her current foster home. She enjoys a wide variety of toys and wrestling with dogs her size. She also enjoys a wide variety of chews like cod sticks and pig ear strips. Harper loves to climb stairs and enjoys having an elevated crate. Following a human around while they complete household chores is great fun for Harper. She enjoys exploring everything as long as she’s close to her humans. Harper is a double merle so her hearing is minimal, and it could affect her vision when she is older. She has merle ocular dysgenesis. Harper currently has difficulty seeing in low light, but is a very happy dog. It is a requirement to have a second dog in the home as a guide dog. She shouldn't be let off leash as she can't hear you call her back. Harper is not potty trained, but will bark to go out if in her kennel. Adoption fee is $450.00 plus applicable taxes and fees. Apply to adopt at campcompanion.org.
