Story
History: Jedrek is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon! A Note from the Foster: Jedrek is such a sweet pup. After having some time to warm up, he loves to play and snuggle. He has the funniest zoomies! Jedrick is so far tolerant of baths and likes to be brushed which is very helpful considering he has the luxurious cocker spaniel hair! That being said, he needs a home that can provide him the regular playtime, ample amount of snuggles, and regular grooming. Jedrek has so far been staying quiet in his kennel over night but will destroy any blankets or towels left in with him. Due to his young age, I imagine he could adjust to many house types whether that is kids or other pets. Apply now for a chance to meet this lovely boy!

Story
History: Chinny is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon! A Note from the Foster: Chinny (or as we like to call him, Jimmy Choo) is a sweet, gentle guy. He’s happiest when someone is nearby to snuggle or play with him, especially children! Jimmy loves attention from people and will “hug” your legs when he wants attention or pets. Chinny is working hard on his potty training and does best when kept on a consistent schedule. He’s doing great overnight and has had very few accidents. He does potty best when on a short walk around the neighborhood (Chinny is great on a leash!). Chinny goes into his kennel without issue and sleeps soundly through the night. He doesn’t mind spending some time in his kennel during the day and has been using it at his “safe, calm space”. He has been a very quiet dog and only barks a few times at night in his kennel when he's not quite ready for snuggle time to be over :) Chinny is still learning the ropes of being a house pup. He’ll need a patient family willing to help him continue his potty training and manners. Chinny is still learning what all of the sounds of a regular household sound like and he is nervous around loud noises/quick movements. Being a curious boy, he tends to jump up to see where the great smells are coming from in the kitchen. He's a smart guy and with consistent training he'll have no trouble learning to stay down. As a cocker spaniel, Chinny will require regular grooming (every 4-6 weeks) and weekly brushing to maintain his beautiful, soft coat and prevent matting, tangles, and skin issues. Chinny has NOT been introduced to other dogs in our care but we feel he would do just fine with another dog in the household and may enjoy the extra attention and play time from another furry friend. If you’re looking for a snuggly, playful companion to come home to, Chinny is your guy! He’s ready to find a forever home to love him up. He would make a truly amazing family dog with his chill, easygoing personality and interest in playing with children.

Story
Grenas (born approx 11/8/21) is my first cockapoo and apparently, they’re very sweet dogs. Grenas is an absolute love. He is shy and his favorite place for his first week with me was under my sofa. However, no matter how timid he feels, his tail is always wagging. It took a bit for him to not pull away when I moved to pet him. He doesn’t like hands coming at him from above in a way that makes me think he may have been abused. A woman who works outside collects strays she notices, and that’s how he came to NDLB. We don’t know anything about his history. The day I took him, I also took a little chi mix foster, Lourdes. They had never met before, but they were instant friends and have become best pals. They play, wrestle, snuggle and sometimes sleep together. Grenas loved Lourdes right away, while it took some time before he was totally comfortable with me. For this reason, I think he would do best in a home with another dog. I think a dog friend makes him feel more secure. He is mostly potty trained. The few accidents he’s had happened because I didn’t let him out in time. My schedule can be random and I expect with a set schedule he would have no accidents. I don’t crate because it doesn’t work well in my home, but he would like a crate if he doesn’t have another place to make a ‘den.’ (Under the sofa is his safe place here, but my sofa is raised on legs and easy to get under.) He is awesome in the car. Just lays down in the back seat the whole ride. He loves treats and is food motivated, which makes training easier. He couldn’t care less about his kibble and he grazes his meals. He was terribly matted when I got him and had to be shaved. The groomer said one shoulder was so matted he had some bruising! He won’t let me put a jacket on him yet and so I haven’t walked him much, but he’s fine with the leash. He will bark sometimes at stuff going on outside and he will snap at Lourdes if she plays too rough, but otherwise, he has zero aggression. I’ve not seen him with kids, but I’m positive he would be fine. He shouldn’t be in a home with rambunctious kids as that would make him nervous. I would not describe him as a ‘hardy’ dog even if he did live outside for a while. Once he’s comfortable, he loves pets and a little wrestling, but is never clingy or demanding. He sleeps with me at least part of the night. He is not really a lap dog. He got out once, and it took a minute or two to get him back in, but he didn’t go anywhere. My backyard is fenced so he is let out back freely. The only issue anyone could have with Grenas is his shyness. For anyone not wanting a social butterfly type of dog, he’s a total prize. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:$525.00  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 1, 2025, 3:44 pm

Story
Age: DOB: 3/9/2025 Weight: 25lbs. Dog friendly: yes Cat friendly: unknown Kid friendly: yes Potty trained: good on a schedule Crate trained: yes This adorable 9-month-old Cocker Spaniel is as loving as they come. He absolutely adores people of all ages and gets along beautifully with other dogs. In his foster home, he’s done wonderfully with a 4-year-old child and fits right in with his two large foster dog siblings. Though he came into rescue without any formal training, he’s proving to be a quick learner. He’s making great progress with potty training by following the lead of his foster siblings and is eager to continue learning in his forever home. One of his most endearing quirks? He often leaves his little tongue sticking out—especially when he’s sleeping—which makes him impossibly cute and guaranteed to steal your heart. At night, he sleeps soundly in his kennel and does great settling in for bedtime. With his gentle nature, loving personality, and goofy charm, he’s going to make a truly wonderful companion. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate pup who’s ready to grow and learn with you, this boy might be your perfect match. Adoption fee: $695

Story
Age: DOB 3/9/25 Weight: 17lbs Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes, with dog savvy cats Kid friendly: Unknown Potty trained: Almost! Crate trained: Yes REQUIRED: Physical fenced yard & another dog within the home Hi! I'm Frannie! The happiest and most joyful cocker spaniel you'll ever meet. I can't wait to meet my new family and become part of your lives forever. I'm still a puppy with an endless supply of puppy energy and love to give to my entire family. I love everything soft and snuggly: blankets, pillows, beds (human and dog), sweaters (do you know how cold it is in these MN winters???) and even more than all of that stuff, I love to snuggle and cuddle on the shoulder or in the lap of my humans. Chin and ear scratches are the BEST and sometimes they even make me fall asleep. Oh - and I love to give you puppy kisses, too. I hope you like puppy kisses - they're just one way I show you how much I love you!!! I'm a very good eater, too (food is awesome!!) I'm currently on the same schedule as my foster brother and sister, so I eat breakfast each morning around 6 a.m. and dinner is served promptly at 5 p.m. - or else my foster Mom is gonna hear about it from me and my foster siblings!! I also get these awesome things throughout the day called treats - and man are they yummy. Usually I get them every time I go outside and potty and whenever I "sit" - but if I had it my way, I'd have full access to that jar of treats all day long. They are soooo yummy. Speaking of potty training...my foster Mom says I am a super fast learner and have nearly mastered my potty training skills since coming to their family one week ago. It's super important that I have a routine and as long as my family and I stick to that routine, I am perfect (duh - does she know who she's talking about? I'm obviously perfect all the time!) I don't even mind my crate if my foster Mom and Dad have to leave for a while - after all, the big human house is a bit overwhelming for a young pup like me, so my crate makes me feel safe and with one of my stuffie toys and my blankets, I snuggle right in until they're back home. If you'll let me, I'd prefer to snuggle right next to you in your big bed at night, but I will also sleep in my kennel if needed. TOYS!!! Have we talked about toys yet?!?! I LOVE them. LOVE. THEM. Especially the stuffies with crinkle paper in them. They are the best and I will play with them with another dog or on my own. I like to stash my toys and will also steal my favorite human's socks, sweatshirts and slippers to add to my stash pile. I don't even chew on them - I just like to have them near me if I can't have my human nearby. I am so excited to meet my new family and am ready to open my heart and share all my love and joy with you. We're going to be the best team. **Frannie is still learning to walk on a leash and came to us very scared/skittish of a leash, so if her new family has a fully fenced backyard where she can run, play and potty safely while she continues her leash training that is ideal. She is still pretty skittish when the leash comes out and I'd hate to see her bolt unexpectedly if she was in a backyard without a fence while she's still learning.** Adoption fee: $695
