Urgent, Local Foster Home Needed. You must live in the Salisbury, Kannapolis, Concord area of NC to be taking her to our rescue vet in Kannapolis as needed. Meet Jackie, a 7-year-old chocolate and tan Cocker Spaniel girl. She is a retired breeder dog that has not had much attention or love. She came in with another retired breeder dog and we quickly found out that the owners lied to us when they had their vet evaluations. Both girls have major mammary masses requiring extensive radical mastectomies. Jackie also has mastitis too. She is now spayed; tumor was removed and just need to let mastitis clear. Biopsy on tumor came back as carcinoma, low grade cancer so we will have to find out how vet wants to handle this issue and removal if possible. The ideal home for this sweet girl must be willing to house train, teach her to walk on a leash and have a secure fenced yard. She craves attention and love and is a busy girl who likes to explore. Watching her outside, she knows how to open an unlocked gate, so you must always have a closed padlock on it to keep her safe from getting out. She does not do well with male dogs and will only be placed into a home with female dogs. We have no past history with big dogs, cats or children. If you can help us by fostering this girl until she can be adopted, it would be greatly appreciated. She had a foster home and lost it due to family health issues that got worse. When ready for a home, her adoption fee will be $400.00.

If you are interested in fostering this sweet girl, please read bio below and send an email message to larrydonnacarp@aol.com to discuss. She will need to be in a foster home until she is ready to be adopted out. Meet Teenie, an 8-year-old Cocker Spaniel girl. She is a retired breeder dog that has not had much attention or love. She came in with another retired dog and we found out that the owners lied to us when we took them to our vet for their evaluation appointment. Both girls have major mammary masses requiring extensive radical mastectomies. First surgery was done on Teenie to remove tumors and spay will be done after a 2-month recovery time to heal before it can be done, when the rest of the mammary chain will be removed. Tumor biopsy came back as benign. Final surgery in several weeks after skin has healed up. The ideal home for this cocker girl must be willing to house train, teach her to walk on a leash and you must have a secure fenced yard. We have no past history of how she does with big dogs, cats or children. Patience and understanding will be a plus to help her thrive as a house dog in a home environment. She is friendly, easy going, good with other dogs her size and she is a calm girl. She is so sweet and craves attention and love. She will be spayed at our vet after her skin has time to heal from tumor removal. She was in a foster home and doing well until things changed due to family issues that just happen as a part of life. Adoption fee will be $400 when she is ready to find her new home.

Urgent --Foster Home Needed for Prince. You must live in the Salisbury, Kannapolis, Concord area of NC to be taking him to our rescue vet when he needs to go. Please email - larrydonnacarp@aol.com if you are interested and can help us. No big dogs, he doesn't do well with them. No phone calls. If you are interested in adopting this red n white cocker boy, please go to charlottecockerrescue.org to download and save our application. Fill it out and email it back to us to be approved. We will review it and return calls. Meet Prince, a very friendly, neutered 2-year-old, red n white Cocker Spaniel boy. He was an abandoned dog taken in at a NC shelter. He was cleaned up, vetted for shots and then got adopted out to a new home. A short time after, he was brought back to this shelter because it just didn't work out with a senior owner. He is a healthy, somewhat thin, easy going, lazy kind of boy. He is crate trained but will wine some if he's in it for a long time. He has been updated on all vet care and overall is a super friendly guy. We have learned that he doesn't seem to know his name when called, so he either has select hearing or may possibly be hearing compromised in one ear, not sure. He will need guidance and patience to adapt to a home environment. He gets along best with Cockers his size that are not dominate but is not good with big dogs. We will not be placing him into any home with a senior owner as he did not do well when he was adopted out to an older couple, started nipping at their feet and they returned him. He cannot be in a home with young kids, but he can be with older teen children. A fenced yard is an absolute must. This boy is looking for his forever home where he can be happy, and his family is willing to work with him to help him thrive. He was with one of our foster families but now they can't do this any longer and we urgently need to find a new place for him to live until he can be adopted out. Adoption Fee $500

Honey is just as sweet as her name and her foster mom calls her Honey Bunny. Her owner loved her so much but she passed away so she came to live with us. Very loving baby girl. Loves to snuggle and likes to follow her humans around.  She is a 13-year-old, chubby, Cocker Spaniel. Her favorite things are snuggling with her foster mom and watching television.
