Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Foster or Forever Home Wanted: Meet Max! Max’s journey began with a kind stranger who saw a puppy in need and said, “Not on my watch.” A Good Samaritan found him, cared for him, and kept him safe while waiting for his owner to step forward. When no one ever did, we stepped in to rewrite his ending. This Collie mix is a classic young dog—brilliant, busy, and full of life. He wears a mostly black coat with a sharp hint of white on his chest and chin, like a perfectly placed design detail that says, “Yes, I was born this handsome.” Max is playful, social, and charming in that goofy puppy way that makes you laugh even when he’s trying to launch himself into the air out of sheer excitement. He loves people, he loves other dogs, and he loves every moment of being alive. Because he’s still very much a puppy, continued training will be key in helping him grow into the thoughtful, well-mannered boy he’s already practicing to become. His forever home—or foster home—should be ready to keep that learning going. We can’t say for certain how he feels about cats just yet, but we can confidently say chickens are not part of his social circle. Max will do best in a home that can either securely separate and protect their chickens or plan on living a chicken-free lifestyle altogether. Max is the kind of dog that gets better every day. With his intelligence, eagerness to please, and natural Collie instincts, he’s primed to be an incredible companion for the right person or family—one who enjoys play, structure, and a dog who will absolutely keep life interesting. If you’re interested in fostering or adopting Max, please visit LabradorsandFriends.org and submit an application. Let’s get this clever pup into the home he deserves, where the words “Good boy, Max” will be said often—and genuinely meant. Max is located in Southern California.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 1, 2025, 1:15 am

Story
Meet Riley, the 11-month-old puppy who runs on 90% affection, 10% snacks, and 0% understanding of why the vacuum is definitely out to get her. She’s got an amazing personality—sweet as sugar and determined to be a Very Good Girl™… even if she’s still figuring out what that actually means. Thankfully, the other dogs in the house are giving her daily “How to Dog 101” lessons, and she’s taking notes like her future depends on it. She’s a crate superstar, a leash-walking legend, and a full-time employee in the “Please Love Me” department. Riley has puppy energy for days, but we’re learning how to channel it into something other than spontaneous zoomies and enthusiastic tail smacks. All Riley really wants is affection. Like… nonstop. Forever. She’s basically a furry love sponge. If you’re looking for a sweetheart who’s eager to please and even more eager to snuggle, Riley is your girl. 🐶💛
