You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet King ✨ — Your Loyal New Best Friend Hi, I’m King! I’m a 3-year-old Spitz/Collie Shepherd Mix. My rescue says I'm a Mix of love with a big heart and a happy spirit, willing to give and receive lots of love. I had a rough start in life after my human family abandoned me, my mate, and our puppies, but thanks to our rescue, my family is now safe—and I’m ready to leave the past behind and start my best chapter yet. I’m a social, affectionate boy who loves spending time with my people. Walks, car rides, and cozy snuggles are some of my favorite things. I do great with older, considerate kids, get along well with other dogs, and even do fine with cats (as long as they’re friendly too ). If you’re looking for a sweet, fun-loving companion who will be a loyal sidekick through life, I might be your perfect match. If you live in LA, San Diego County, or surrounding areas and would like to help me on my journey, please apply to foster me at www.tlck9rescue.org ❤️Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 29, 2026, 2:18 pm

Story
Meet Benjamin “Benny,” a four month old,  approximately 10 pound puppy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This smart and playful little guy loves cuddles just as much as treats and playtime. Benny is doing great on walks, enjoys exploring with his people, and is making wonderful progress with potty training. Benny would thrive in a home with a yard where he can run, play, and burn off his puppy energy. He would love an active family that will include him in adventures, exercise, and plenty of quality time. Affectionate and eager to learn, Benny is sure to grow into a loyal and loving best friend for a very lucky family. If you are interested in adopting, please visit the I.C.A.R.E. Story
How Vesper arrived:Vesper was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on May 1, 2026. Why Vesper is the one for you:Vesper is the kind of companion who feels like evening calm in dog form, a sweet soul who started off a little unsure and has steadily shown just how affectionate he can be once he settles in. When he is comfortable, he seeks closeness on his own terms, leaning in, offering gentle kisses, and melting into chest and butt scratches like it is his favorite pastime, and his signature move might be those adorable tippy taps when the pets hit just right. True to his name, Vesper shines brightest in the quieter hours, happiest with patient people who let him approach first so he can choose more snuggles or a breather. He is not especially interested in rowdy games and would rather hang out nearby, sniff around, then come back for more affection. With thoughtful introductions and coaching, he could be a lovely match for a home that values calm routines, gentle boundaries, and a dog who bonds deeply with the people he trusts. He has lived with other dogs before, and any children in the home should be at least 6 years old, with everyone present for an initial meeting. Vesper is also working on a healthier body and may have some knee discomfort, so a steady pace and supportive care will help him feel his best. Please bring a leash & collar when adopting. At SDHS:Vesper has been vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. Primary Color: Red Secondary Color: White Weight: 78 Age: 5yrs 6mths 4wks

Story
Shadow is a high drive working breed border collie who needs someone with breed experience (preferred). Fulfillment requirements: She will need more than just an hour long walk a day to meet her physical requirements. She currently bikes, hikes, and loves to swim. She is also well versed in carrying a weighted pack on her hikes, which helps her tune into her body and slow her mind. She's an athletic girl and needs someone to match that lifestyle. Sociability (Dog preferences): Shadow is dog selective. She would be perfectly fine in a home with no other dogs but would also do ok if she found a home with the right dog for her. No little dogs or other small animals though. She doesn't enjoy every dog but enjoys most in the proper introductions are taken. She doesn't enjoy chaos with other dogs but loves to partake in structured pack activities. She is NOT a dog park or high-energy daycare type dog. Training: She's crate trained and sleeps, eats and rests in one daily. She's highly intelligent and learns quickly. She is well versed in basic obedience cues: sit, down, stand, stay, recall, place, middle, and loose leash walking. She does not enjoy being approached, touched or spoken to by strangers but has increased her thresholds for tolerance by quite a lot. She can navigate public spaces with the proper guidance but is probably never going to be a "coffee shop" dog. Shadow's Adoption fee is $250 and includes spay, microchip and current vaccinations.
