Story
Fluffy came into our lives as a puppy from a Rough Collie breeder in Kansas, and he has been a beloved member of our family ever since. Fluffy is a happy, sweet, and affectionate dog who genuinely loves being around people. He enjoys companionship and is happiest when he can simply be near his family. He loves children, is good with other animals, and has a gentle and loving personality. He has grown up alongside our son and has been a wonderful family companion. Due to changes in our family circumstances, our schedules have become much busier, and unfortunately we can no longer be as present or give Fluffy the time and companionship he deserves. This is a very difficult decision for us. We are not rehoming Fluffy because of a problem with him—we are doing it because we love him and want him to have a life where he receives the attention and companionship he enjoys. Fluffy is 8 years old, microchipped, up to date on his vaccinations, and receives regular annual veterinary checkups.

Story
Mrs. White entered the Humane Society of Imperial County in mid-July as a stray, and sadly, no one came to claim her during the required hold period. We welcomed her as a Frosted Face on August 28th. Mrs. White is estimated to be 10 years old and weighs 45 lbs. Shortly after her arrival, a volunteer took Mrs. White on a coastal outing and shared this rave review afterwards: "Mrs. White loved looking at everything and watched the waves rolling for several minutes. She really enjoyed laying calmly in the shade and watching people and birds, then sniffing in the grass. I felt honored to receive many sweet kisses! My dogs get too stressed being in those types of environments, so it was so lovely to have a chill buddy with me to enjoy Fletcher Cove!" Mrs. White is currently enjoying a two-week Frosted Fling, soaking up plenty of love and pampering in the comfort of a home while we get to know her even better. Stay tuned for updates from her foster family! To meet Mrs. White, please email: placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org

Story
Meet Mindi — Now It’s Her Turn to Shine Every once in a while, a dog comes out of the shelter and you find yourself wondering how on earth anyone ever let her go. Mindi is one of those dogs. Mindi was rescued from the Hesperia Shelter after giving birth to three puppies. Sadly, by the time this little family came into our care, Mindi and her newborn babies were very sick. Despite everything we did, two of her puppies did not survive. But Mindi and her little girl, Zilla, fought their way through. With proper medical care, lots of love, and one very devoted mama, they made it. ❤️ Today, Zilla is weaned and already living in a home of her own. And now it is Mindi's turn to shine. We don't use the word perfect very often when describing a dog, but it's difficult to find another word for Mindi. She is sweet, quiet, gentle and incredibly well-behaved. She gets along beautifully with every kind of dog we've introduced her to—big dogs, little dogs, seniors and youngsters. She walks wonderfully on a leash, is completely house-trained and already comes when called by name. She has never even needed to be crated in our home because she simply doesn't cause trouble. If her future family prefers to use a crate, we think she could learn very easily. Mindi currently weighs about 55 pounds and we believe she may be a little younger than two years old, although we'll never know her exact age for sure. After everything this beautiful girl has been through, what stands out most about Mindi is simply what a wonderful dogshe is. She raised her baby, watched her leave for a home of her own, and now Mindi is ready for the part of her story that belongs entirely to her. Spayed Fully vaccinated Microchipped House-trained Wonderful on leash Comes when called Fantastic with dogs of all sizes and ages Quiet and well-behaved Approximately 55 pounds Mindi's adoption fee is $450. To submit an adoption application, visit Green Dog Foundation . For more information, email greendogfoundation@gmail.com or call Krissy at (949) 456-7032. Mindi spent the first chapter of her story being a mama. Now we're looking for someone who will make her their baby. September 16, 2026, 11:51 pm

Story
Meet Kaillie! DOB: April 2020Weight: 56 lbsDisposition: Playful, Friendly, HappyHistory: Found stray with her bestie, Kaysha, and impounded at an LA shelter (where her records show she'd been at previously). Rescued by TBL when she was at risk of euthanasia bue to not having been adopted quickly enough.Looking for a dog who can slide right into your family and become your new best friend? Meet Kaillie — a beautiful 6-year-old Collie mix with the perfect blend of intelligence, affection, and adventure spirit.Kaillie already knows all of her basic commands and absolutely loves showing them off. She’s friendly with people, great with other dogs, and has moved beyond the chaotic puppy phase while still having plenty of energy for hikes, jogs, beach days, or any adventure you want to share together.Like many herding breeds, Kaillie is incredibly smart, eager to learn, and deeply loyal. She has some classic Collie herding instincts, but what shines most is her happy personality and that bright, joyful smile that lights up every room she walks into. ❤️ Kaillie and her friend Kaysha were owner-surrendered and found themselves at immediate risk in an overcrowded LA shelter. Thankfully, we were able to rescue them in time. Kaysha has already found her forever family — and now it’s Kaillie’s turn. She would thrive in an active, loving home ready for a loyal companion and adventure buddy. If you're interested in meeting Kaillie, please visit our website to fill out an adoption application: www.thebarkinglot.net/adoptOur dogs are located in San Diego County, CA. Story
Shadow is a high drive working breed border collie who needs someone with breed experience (preferred). Fulfillment requirements: She will need more than just an hour long walk a day to meet her physical requirements. She currently bikes, hikes, and loves to swim. She is also well versed in carrying a weighted pack on her hikes, which helps her tune into her body and slow her mind. She's an athletic girl and needs someone to match that lifestyle. Sociability (Dog preferences): Shadow is dog selective. She would be perfectly fine in a home with no other dogs but would also do ok if she found a home with the right dog for her. No little dogs or other small animals though. She doesn't enjoy every dog but enjoys most in the proper introductions are taken. She doesn't enjoy chaos with other dogs but loves to partake in structured pack activities. She is NOT a dog park or high-energy daycare type dog. Training: She's crate trained and sleeps, eats and rests in one daily. She's highly intelligent and learns quickly. She is well versed in basic obedience cues: sit, down, stand, stay, recall, place, middle, and loose leash walking. She does not enjoy being approached, touched or spoken to by strangers but has increased her thresholds for tolerance by quite a lot. She can navigate public spaces with the proper guidance but is probably never going to be a "coffee shop" dog. Shadow's Adoption fee is $250 and includes spay, microchip and current vaccinations. Story
How this pet arrived: Phoenix was brought in by their previous owner on September 2, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Phoenix! If there's water involved-whether it's chasing the garden hose, splashing around, or even hopping into the bath-he is totally in his element. Phoenix is a clever, active guy who loves a good game of fetch, daily adventures and having a "job" to keep his busy brain happy. Phoenix can be timid when meeting new people, so the trick is just letting him come to you. Give him that bit of patience and you get the full package: goofy playfulness and top-tier cuddles. The whole family must be present to meet Phoenix before adoption and any kids should be 8 or older. If you already have a pup, an on-campus meet is required to make sure the vibes are right-he prefers mellow dog pals who won't overwhelm him. Ready for a smart, splash-loving sidekick? Phoenix is ready to meet you!Shy/Fearful Dog: Phoenix requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. At SDHS: Phoenix has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Phoenix is now ready for his new home! Primary Color: Red Merle Weight: 38.4 Age: 3yrs 6mths 2wks

Story
Meet Rosie, a sweet 1 1/2 year old, 33 lb female Red Heeler/Shephard mix (the perfect size), ready to be your new best friend! Rosie is house trained at her foster home, sleeps in the bed with her foster sister, and is good with other dogs, adults and children, although she has some cattle dog tendencies (like herding), so older children would be best. Rosie can be shy at first but warms up quickly, and would make a great running or hiking buddy, she loves to go go go and was found running on a large property. Rosie would love to go to training classes with her family, it's a great way to bond, and she would benefit from the structure and training, something she most likely has never had in her young life. This pretty, petite girl is a diamond in the rough, waiting for a loving home to shine her to perfection! Her adoption fee is $350 and includes her spay, microchip and current vaccinations.
