There are many breeds that simply don’t end up in rescue often and Rough Collies are one of those breeds. In all our combined years working in dog rescue, we’ve only seen a handful of Rough Collies in need locally. When we heard of a Rough Collie in a tough situation who needed help fast, we didn’t hesitate to make plans to take her in. We’d like to introduce our FSDA family to Brinz, our newest camper at Camp FSDA! Brinz is a five year old blue merle Rough Collie who is the definition of a Certified Pre-Owned Good Girl™️. Our girl Brinz is friendly to humans of all ages and sizes, dog friendly, house trained, crate trained, good on a leash, good with livestock, and very mellow. She has modest exercise needs and would be perfectly happy lounging around with her new people all day. Brinz unfortunately spent most of her recent days living outdoors and she was shaved recently, so her skin and fur are looking pretty rough. Shaving a double coated dog is not generally recommended, but we are optimistic she will grow her beautiful, elegant fur back out in time! Brinz is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and ready to go home! She is here with us at Camp FSDA in Parrish, Florida and her adoption fee is $400. Story
Molly (9 on Dec 12) has been with us since 8 weeks old. She's crate trained, house trained, great in the car, and good with strangers. She knows stay, sit down, lay down, head down, and wait, and won't eat until you say "OK." Her passion is fetch: total focus, endless energy. She needs to be the only pet. She has shown aggression toward our other dog several times and isn't suited for cats or other animals. She recently growled at our infant, so we're looking for a home without young children. Health: microchipped and vaccinated. She's had a few teeth removed and some worn down, likely from rough play with a herding ball, so softer toys are best. If it doesn't work out, please return her to us rather than a shelter or rehoming her elsewhere.

Meet Peggy. Although Peggy was born with a congenital deformity where her front leg did not fully develop, this does not hold her back from doing anything! She is always excited to get out of the shelter with her Woof Pack leader, Jen, showing off her love of life. Going on leash walks, romping around the agility yard, playing fetch, and displaying her ease at running in the yard. She looks like she should be able to fly with those ears! Peggy can be shy at first when meeting new people but give her a few minutes and she’s your friend. This chill girl loves belly rubs and is looking for “her” person to hang out with. She doesn’t much care for other four-legged beings and would likely do best in a single pet home where she can soak up all the attention. Peggy is the perfect size for people looking for that medium-sized dog – just 40 lbs! With a personality as strong as the one he is named after, eight-year-old Apollo is a legend all his own. He is full of fiery spirit and is eager to go and do almost everything. He is very handsome and knows just how charming he needs to be to win you over. When out in the yards, he runs all over with a smirk across his face, enticing those around to join the fun. One of his favorite activities is playing ball, showcasing his speed while proudly bringing the ball back, triumphantly. He loves adventures with his Satchel's Woof Pack leader; having an air conditioned truck ride, followed by a long walk to explore before heading back to the shelter. Toys are also a fun pasttime, squeakers or a good stuffed Kong with peanut butter keep this guy happy. Apollo can be affectionate, showing it in his own way by leaning up against your legs, and is always ready for scratches, but is not a fan of full on embracement. He has made several human friends here at Satchel's. With such a large personality, an experienced owner would be ideal for this exceptional dog.
