With a personality as strong as the one he is named after, eight-year-old Apollo is a legend all his own. He is full of fiery spirit and is eager to go and do almost everything. He is very handsome and knows just how charming he needs to be to win you over. When out in the yards, he runs all over with a smirk across his face, enticing those around to join the fun. One of his favorite activities is playing ball, showcasing his speed while proudly bringing the ball back, triumphantly. He loves adventures with his Satchel's Woof Pack leader; having an air conditioned truck ride, followed by a long walk to explore before heading back to the shelter. Toys are also a fun pasttime, squeakers or a good stuffed Kong with peanut butter keep this guy happy. Apollo can be affectionate, showing it in his own way by leaning up against your legs, and is always ready for scratches, but is not a fan of full on embracement. He has made several human friends here at Satchel's. With such a large personality, an experienced owner would be ideal for this exceptional dog. Meet Peggy. Although Peggy was born with a congenital deformity where her front leg did not fully develop, this does not hold her back from doing anything! She is always excited to get out of the shelter with her Woof Pack leader, Jen, showing off her love of life. Going on leash walks, romping around the agility yard, playing fetch, and displaying her ease at running in the yard. She looks like she should be able to fly with those ears! Peggy can be shy at first when meeting new people but give her a few minutes and she’s your friend. This chill girl loves belly rubs and is looking for “her” person to hang out with. She doesn’t much care for other four-legged beings and would likely do best in a single pet home where she can soak up all the attention. Peggy is the perfect size for people looking for that medium-sized dog – just 40 lbs! This handsome boy is 3-year-old Moby and he's waiting for you at Satchel's! Moby can be a little shy of strangers but warms up quickly. He enjoys his walks with volunteers, followed by a nice cool down in the kiddie pool while he waits at the gate for his turn to return to his kennel. Moby is full of energy and is currently working with a trainer to learn basic understanding of what is acceptable behavior. Note from a volunteer: "Moby is a darling and very smart. He’s a “back scratch” grass loving boy who prefers water over land any day. He should’ve been a fish 🐠."
