Story
This handsome boy is 3-year-old Moby and he's waiting for you at Satchel's! Moby can be a little shy of strangers but warms up quickly. He enjoys his walks with volunteers, followed by a nice cool down in the kiddie pool while he waits at the gate for his turn to return to his kennel. Moby is full of energy and is currently working with a trainer to learn basic understanding of what is acceptable behavior. Note from a volunteer: "Moby is a darling and very smart. He’s a “back scratch” grass loving boy who prefers water over land any day. He should’ve been a fish 🐠." For an appointment to meet Moby, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) found at satchelslastresort.org.

(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)

Good with dogs, Needs special attention, Needs experienced adopter,
Story
Ember is a sweet border collie with the most loyal heart. She's a total velcro dog who'll follow her foster everywhere and just wants to be by your side. She loves her daily walks and car rides, meeting new people and at night she settles down quietly in her bed (or yours if you let her!). What makes Ember special is that she's not your typical high-energy border collie. She's got a calmer, gentler vibe while still being an active, happy girl. She's just learning what toys are and how to play with them, which is pretty adorable to watch. She walks beautifully on leash and gets along well with other dogs and has little to no prey drive. Ember would do best with someone who has border collie experience or is really dog-savvy, since she'll need an owner who understands how much these dogs love their people. One thing to know: Ember is heartworm positive, but don't let that stop you from meeting her. We'll work with you to get her the treatment she needs.

Story
Onyx is a happy, playful Australian Cattle Dog with a loving personality. He has been around kids his whole life and does great with them. He is fully house-trained and used to being part of a family environment. Onyx is a smart, loyal boy who thrives on attention and activity. As our children have grown older, they’re involved in more outdoor sports, and with us working full time, we aren’t able to give Onyx the time, exercise, and mental stimulation he truly deserves. We’ve noticed he’s feeling a bit sad and would do best in a home where he can get more one-on-one time and activity. We love Onyx very much and want to find him a home where he can be happy, engaged, and loved. He would be a wonderful companion for an active individual or family who understands the needs of an Australian Cattle Dog.

Story
With a personality as strong as the one he is named after, eight-year-old Apollo is a legend all his own. He is full of fiery spirit and is eager to go and do almost everything. He is very handsome and knows just how charming he needs to be to win you over. When out in the yards, he runs all over with a smirk across his face, enticing those around to join the fun. One of his favorite activities is playing ball, showcasing his speed while proudly bringing the ball back, triumphantly. He loves adventures with his Satchel's Woof Pack leader; having an air conditioned truck ride, followed by a long walk to explore before heading back to the shelter. Toys are also a fun pasttime, squeakers or a good stuffed Kong with peanut butter keep this guy happy. Apollo can be affectionate, showing it in his own way by leaning up against your legs, and is always ready for scratches, but is not a fan of full on embracement. He has made several human friends here at Satchel's. With such a large personality, an experienced owner would be ideal for this exceptional dog. Adventure, excitement and a world of opportunity, Apollo would make a wonderful addition to the right home, come see for yourself at Satchel's Last Resort! For an appointment to meet Apollo, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) found on our website, www.satchelslastresort.org, and an adoption counselor will get back to you.
