Story
This handsome boy is 3-year-old Moby and he's waiting for you at Satchel's! Moby can be a little shy of strangers but warms up quickly. He enjoys his walks with volunteers, followed by a nice cool down in the kiddie pool while he waits at the gate for his turn to return to his kennel. Moby is full of energy and is currently working with a trainer to learn basic understanding of what is acceptable behavior. Note from a volunteer: "Moby is a darling and very smart. He’s a “back scratch” grass loving boy who prefers water over land any day. He should’ve been a fish 🐠." For an appointment to meet Moby, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) found at satchelslastresort.org.

Story
🚨Border Collie/Herding Dog Experienced Foster or Foster to Adopt Needed. 🔹Pets Name: Penelope 🔹Age/DOB: 2 years old 🔹Gender: Female 🔹Spayed: Yes 🔹Weight: 50lbs 🔹Breed / Breeds: Border Collie Penelope is a very smart sweet border with typical herding tendencies. She has been on sheep and done very well. She is house broken leash trained. Does not like a crate but will go in , Needs work with crate training. Penny is a dog that needs someone who can set boundaries in a positive firm consistent manner. Typical of herders, she will try to control if she senses you are not in charge. She knows commands, she is motion activated as are most herders. We are working with that and she can be reactive with other dogs, thus the need for a dog savvy handler. She would do best in a home with one other dog or no other dogs for those less experienced. Fenced yard is a must, as is a knowledgeable border collie person . She would do well where she could work stock. She will be in the port charlotte area. 📩 Apply to foster or foster to adopt at the link below! ewenityfarmsbch.com

Story
She is a wonderful dog. Full of energy and super smart. She was house trained within the first few days. This sweet baby was found in Georgia with another puppy that someone had discarded. While she started off with a rough life. She’s ready to go now with all of her shots and she has been spayed and chipped. She is ready for her new loving home. We guess her age is about 9 months old. She needs a home that is active and has people that are home regularly. With our work schedules, we are not here enough for her and don’t like to leave her in the crate for long periods of time. She is too energetic for that. We also need someone who has a fenced in yard. Perhaps someone who likes to take the dog for a walk or run would be wonderful for her.

Story
With a personality as strong as the one he is named after, eight-year-old Apollo is a legend all his own. He is full of fiery spirit and is eager to go and do almost everything. He is very handsome and knows just how charming he needs to be to win you over. When out in the yards, he runs all over with a smirk across his face, enticing those around to join the fun. One of his favorite activities is playing ball, showcasing his speed while proudly bringing the ball back, triumphantly. He loves adventures with his Satchel's Woof Pack leader; having an air conditioned truck ride, followed by a long walk to explore before heading back to the shelter. Toys are also a fun pasttime, squeakers or a good stuffed Kong with peanut butter keep this guy happy. Apollo can be affectionate, showing it in his own way by leaning up against your legs, and is always ready for scratches, but is not a fan of full on embracement. He has made several human friends here at Satchel's. With such a large personality, an experienced owner would be ideal for this exceptional dog. Adventure, excitement and a world of opportunity, Apollo would make a wonderful addition to the right home, come see for yourself at Satchel's Last Resort! For an appointment to meet Apollo, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) found on our website, www.satchelslastresort.org, and an adoption counselor will get back to you.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Peggy. Although Peggy was born with a congenital deformity where her front leg did not fully develop, this does not hold her back from doing anything! She is always excited to get out of the shelter with her Woof Pack leader, Jen, showing off her love of life. Going on leash walks, romping around the agility yard, playing fetch, and displaying her ease at running in the yard. She looks like she should be able to fly with those ears! Peggy can be shy at first when meeting new people but give her a few minutes and she’s your friend. This chill girl loves belly rubs and is looking for “her” person to hang out with. She doesn’t much care for other four-legged beings and would likely do best in a single pet home where she can soak up all the attention. Peggy is the perfect size for people looking for that medium-sized dog – just 40 lbs! For an appointment to meet Peggy, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) found at satchelslastresort.org and an adoption counselor will contact you.

Story
Meet Coco! 🐾 Coco is a beautiful 2-year-old Mini Australian Shepherd weighing 30 pounds, and she’s ready to find the perfect forever home! This sweet girl is the complete package—playful, affectionate, and incredibly loyal. She loves spending time with her people and is happiest when she’s playing fetch, wrestling with another dog, or curled up next to you for cuddles. Coco is fully house trained, knows “sit,” and is eager to learn even more. Coco has an active personality and will thrive with a family that enjoys keeping her busy through walks, playtime, hiking, or other adventures. She absolutely loves other dogs and needs a playful canine companion in her new home. Because of Coco’s history, finding the right home is extremely important. She previously escaped and spent two months surviving on her own before she was safely trapped. For that reason, we are looking for experienced, safety-conscious adopters who understand the importance of escape prevention and will be diligent about keeping her secure. Coco’s ideal home includes: * A playful resident dog. * A securely fenced yard with a 6-foot fence. * An adult-only home (no children). * A family committed to managing her safely and preventing any chance of escape. If you’re looking for a smart, loving companion who will happily play fetch all afternoon and then snuggle on the couch, Coco may be the perfect addition to your family. Coco is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. She is fostered in Clearwater and her adoption fee is $400. To apply to adopt Coco, please complete an adoption application at: www.love4pawsfl.org/adopt
