Story
Hi there, I’m Luca, a 3-year-old Collie weighing 62 pounds, and I’m just about the sweetest guy you’ll ever meet. I was brought to the shelter on 08/22/2024 after my owner was arrested, and now I’m here, hoping for a fresh start with someone who’ll love me as much as I’ll love them. Life’s been a little rough lately, but I haven’t let that dampen my spirit. I love belly rubs (seriously, they’re the best!), and I already know how to sit and lay down like a pro. I’m neutered, my shots are all up to date, so I’m ready to go home and be the loyal, loving companion you’ve been searching for. You can meet me in cage #108, ID 661315. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle boy who’s ready to fill your life with love and belly rubs, I’m your guy. Let’s make it official! Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

LOOKING FOR MY PERFECT MATCH:  Approx. 5 years old / Approx. 67 lbs.    Hello, I’m Smiley!  Take one look at my pic, and you will know why my Mostly Mutts name suits me – lol.   I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and have been busy charming the volunteers with my cuteness and personality ever since.  I bet you will love me too!  I am doing some guarding of my room/crate, and my trainer would be happy to tell you more about that. Let’s meet soon and see if I am your new furry family member!  I got to spend some time in the foster/training program offsite and learned a lot! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met dogs recently at Mostly Mutts and was friendly with them as long as we were playing away from my room or crate, which I guard. If you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet with my trainer. / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, but because I guard my room/crate, and have bitten over this, so if you have older teens such as 15+ that know not to take things from me, or reach into my crate, let’s meet. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I have a super sweet and loving disposition.  I’m playful, friendly and – true to my collie mix – pretty smart, too!  When the play is done, I also love to chill with my people.  / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts, although I do guard my crate.  My trainer is working with me on this and has taught me to ‘sit’ and wait in my ‘place’ while my crate is cleaned.  Still, items should not be taken from my crate with me present.  / My potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home.     • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like toys and am always ready for some play time with my people!  The volunteers say I am ‘all smiles’ when out and about on my walks.  My first shelter bath was scary for me, but I did much better the second time and loved the brushing of my coat that went with it – which is good, because I do need a good brushing from time to time.  Being near my people makes me a happy guy – especially when belly rubs are involved.  Recently, I took my job as ‘front desk assistant’ at the shelter very seriously – placing my paws on the volunteers’ laps to let them know they are loved!  I am happiest when away from my crate, and when I am outside, I am a super happy go lucky guy! / Other than the above-mentioned guarding of my room/crate, I can’t think of any other dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.   • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.  I have a significant underbite, but it doesn’t bother me, and some even say it makes me cuter.  I am looking for a great home where I will be a cherished family member!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  September 17, 2024, 7:19 am

Story
My mother recently adopted this sweet Smooth Coat Collie. Unfortunately, my mother has recently fell ill & has been unable to give her the proper care & attention needed. I’ve been working with her on getting her leash & house trained, but we have come to the conclusion that the best thing for her would be to find another loving home. We are working on getting her shots to date. She is living with another a cat currently. She does get excited & reactive when she sees other dogs but is not aggressive at all. Let me know if you have any questions

Story
Kopa is a female 6 year old Australian Cattle Dog mix, who is such a sweet and well-mannered lady! She is easy on a leash and a wonderful companion, such that it is a true joy to go on walks together. Kopa is fairly laid back, so she mainly likes to walk around and explore in the fenced-in park rather than run a lot. When giving her a treat, she does these precious little hops to reach up and get one. And even cuter, she wags her little nub of a tail when she’s happy about something … we call them “nub wiggles”, and they are sure to make you happy too! At 6 years old, it is heartbreaking to see this sweet girl at the shelter, patiently waiting for her forever home. Please come meet Kopa, and give her the loving home that she SO deserves! The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip.Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA. Phone: 770-214-3590. The hours of operation are: Monday through Wednesday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Thursday 12:30 pm till 6:00 pm; Friday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Saturday 9:00 am till 4:00 pm.
