Story
Lily Mae is a classic gorgeous rough collie. Just about a year old, she is full of energy, but her ultimate goal is to be a lap dog. She loves to wrestle and run in the yard with her foster siblings and play tug of war, but then she wants to be cuddled and loved by her human. Lily Mae thinks toys are great, particularly jolly balls and anything meant for chewing or tugging. She’s house trained, is pretty good on a leash, and is working on crate training. Lily Mae is hearing impaired and is learning hand signals. She quickly learned “sit” and is working on “off” and “leave it.” She needs a home with a fenced-in yard and would prefer one with another large, playful dog. No tiny kids, please, only because she doesn’t realize how big she is and is very exuberant. Lily Mae is very sweet, very loving, and very Velcro. She’s being fostered in the St. Louis area.  ##1974523##

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Valentino is the kind of dog that wants to be best friends with every person that he meets. He's been in a foster home since January 2024, but before that was very stressed at the shelter for many months. He became a favorite of many staff members and volunteers over that time, who love him for his winning personality and his big heart. He's really grown so much during his time in foster and now it's hard to believe he's been looking for his forever home for over a year now. Valentino is sweet, smart, funny and loving. His foster mom says they love him so much, but he's truly ready for and so deserving of a forever family! He is crate-trained, potty-trained and knows many commands (sit, down, place, touch, paw/shake, off) and loves to play confidence building training games. His foster mom is convinced he can learn anything because he's so smart, and says he also has a lot of potential to be an agility dog. Valentino's favorite things are walks, sniffing, snuggling, stuffy toys, snacks (cheese!) and car rides. He also loves going to training once a week, where he is working on having neutral behaviors around other dogs. Unfortunately he developed some reactivity as a result of being in the stressful shelter environment for so long, but has made so much progress towards potentially having doggy friends. Tasty treats and good things to sniff are key for this boy. He's the very best snuggler and will let you know when he needs pets, which is all the time! You won't meet a dog that will appreciate your affection more. He just wants to be near you. Valentino is still young so he is active, playful, fun and so silly! And he walks well on leash once he gets the initial excitement out. He is 100% good boy, his Wisdom DNA test said he is also 33% Staffordshire Terrier, 27% American Pit Bull Terrier and 24% Golden Retriever with some Border Collie and Australian Shepherd sprinkled in there. Valentino will truly make the perfect best bud. He's so deserving, and he has so much love to give! Please consider giving this special boy his forever home!

Story
Each of our pets has a unique story, but they all share one thing in common: they need a loving, caring, and nurturing home to thrive in. One of these pets is Inga, a charming and affectionate girl who has been waiting for her forever home since February 2022. Inga is a lively and intelligent pup who adores outdoor activities such as running, hiking, and playing fetch. She has already mastered a few tricks and is housebroken, but she could use some guidance on remaining calm during car rides. To help her socialize with other dogs, Inga has been receiving training and will continue to receive lifetime training from our partner, Good Dog Enrichment and Training. Please come and meet this lovely gal and shower her with the love and care she truly deserves. With Inga by your side, you'll have a loyal and loving companion for life!
