Story
I’ve had Sybil for a while now, which is OK with me as she is my best and easiest dog in the kennel. But, she is ready for her forever home and her forever person. She was a bit of a challenge when I got her, but she has recovered and then some. I did do a fair amount of training work with her, she is a easy student and a very quick study. She loves being out in her yard seeing the world, barking at deer, romping w/the other dogs when we go by on our walks and most of all, hunting mice. Which is a bit annoying as she does create some good holes. Sybil is good on a leash and I enjoy our walks together. She’s an energetic dog, but not a hyper dog. She is the only dog in my kennel not to bark when i walk the other dogs. She calmly waits for her turn. Sybil is independent, but also loves her person and will be a dedicated dog. She likes people but seems to meet women better than men. Which isn’t unusual. She also does well with other dogs with a proper introduction. She does seem to be choosey though, likes and dislikes dogs for reason I can’t understand. Sybil isn’t an anybody dog. She is very smart and needs someone who is a bit dog savvy and will be the alpha leader. Being the alpha leader is not a physical thing, it’s how you think, your attitude, and demeanor. She’s an awesome dog. And she would like her forever home. If that someone is you and you would like to meet her.

PLEASE NOTE! WE ARE A TEXAS-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN TEXAS AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO YOUR STATE ONCE ADOPTED. Our application can be found at haydudeequine.org. **Hi, I’m Callie! ❤️** I’m a happy 18-month-old Collie mix girl weighing about 50 pounds, and I’m looking for my forever family! I have these big pointy ears that I love to perk up when I see people, a fluffy sable coat that’s super soft for cuddles, and I’m almost always smiling with my tongue hanging out because life is just so good. I’m the gentlest girl you’ll ever meet — I really don’t have a mean bone in my body. I’m sweet, calm, and easygoing. I love everyone I meet and I’m great with kids and other pets. I already know all the important house rules: I’m fully housebroken, I’m a champion at using the dog door, and I’m super chill in my kennel when you need me to be. I just want to be near my people, whether that’s snuggling on the couch or going for nice walks. I promise to be your loyal, loving companion who fills your home with wags, cuddles, and plenty of smiles. All I want is a family who will love me back and give me the forever home I’ve been dreaming about. Please know that by adopting me, you’re committing to giving me a safe, loving home with good veterinary care and lots of patience while I settle in. In return, I’ll give you my whole heart every single day. Ready to bring me home? I can’t wait to meet you! 🐾

Meet Bonnie! (*Coming Soon! Available 7/31) Bonnie is a 2-year-young hound-ish mix — think spaniel/setter/beagle/border collie, hailing from southern rural Missouri. She's currently in a foster home with another medium-sized dog and elementary-age kids, and does great with everyone. Bonnie has flexible energy. She's an expert at play bows with a classic push/pull play style, but she's just as happy settling in for couch cuddles. Story
SHIPSEY Hey, I'm Shipsey! Check me out, I'm an absolute sweetheart! I'm 1.5 years old, a female with a unique mix of collie, pitty, and hound. I've got the sweetest personality and I just LOVE my toys and sunbathing in the yard! Here's the scoop on me: Super sweet and affectionate-major snuggler alert! Already potty and crate-trained, so I've got those basics down. Good with dogs, but I'd do best in a home with older kids. I've got moderate energy, so I like to play but also know how to chill. A yard is a must for me because I love to stretch my legs and enjoy the outdoors! Eager to please-so I'm always ready to learn and make my humans proud! I'm currently living with a foster and loving life, but I keep hearing that I deserve a forever family of my own. I've got these beautiful white socks on my front paws and a lovely white chest that makes me stand out from the crowd. Story
Nancy is a young Australian cattle dog who would just love to sit on your lap and be cuddled all day. She’s smart and full of personality with spurts of play time then lots of chill time.  Nancy is about 3 or 4 years old. She is completely house trained and is excellent in her crate. She’s good on a leash and knows several commands including “sit” and “kennel.” She is particularly motivated if treats are involved! Nancy loves other dogs but can get pretty rowdy when she plays. She would be great with a dog buddy as long as the dog is accepting, playful, and not easily offended by silly antics. One of Nancy’s favorite things is to talk to all her favorite toys. Nancy needs a home with a fenced-in yard and would prefer someone who has herding dog experience. Nancy has trouble navigating stairs and needs a home with no steps. No kids under 10 please. Nancy is being fostered in the St. Louis area. Please fill out an application: https://www.speakrescue.com/pre-adoption-form ##1270950##

Story
Gabriel came to us from a rural shelter in the Carolinas. This young dog had been seriously injured after being hit by a car. The impact broke his leg and caused his eye to pop out. Although veterinarians were able to save his eye, he wasn’t able to see out of it, so it eventually had to be removed. He has recovered quickly from that procedure as well as surgery to fix his leg. Although Gabriel is only a couple years old, he totally acts like a puppy. He is extremely curious, energetic, and playful, but also loves to snuggle. He adores playing tug, thinks chew toys are fantastic, and has a blast with stuffed toys and his Jolly Ball. Gabriel is doing great with potty training and is working on leash and crate manners. He’s a quick learner and knows sit, kennel up, and hush. He is goofy and can be rowdy, but he totally wants to be a good boy. Gabriel is good with dogs that like to play as hard as he does. He needs a home with a fenced-in yard. He’d be fine as an only dog or would have fun with a well-matched dog pal. He’d love a family who might be interested in dog sports or other fun activities and who will spend time continuing to teach him how to be a great dog.  Gabriel wants to play and wants to be loved and cuddled. He certainly deserves it after his traumatic experiences. He’s being fostered in the St. Louis area. Please fill out an application: https://www.speakrescue.com/pre-adoption-form ##1864447##

Story
Handsome Drift turns heads wherever he goes. But this 1-year-old Baussie (border collie-Australian shepherd) is not just gorgeous; he’s also brilliant, athletic, and so, so sweet. Drift loves to run and jump and play with all his dog buddies, but he’s also incredibly happy snuggling with his human pals. He’s so agile and fast that he likely would be amazing at agility or sports. Drift is great with other dogs. He has such a calm, easy way about him that he easily makes lots of new friends. Drift is hearing impaired and he is learning hand signals. He quickly figured out sit, come, and up. He’s completely potty trained, is great in a crate and on a leash, and is completely trustworthy in the house. Drift would thrive in an active home where he can stay busy and be part of the fun. He loves his human and wants to be right there, doing what you do. Drift has had a complete recovery from having a non-functioning kidney removed. It does not change his active lifestyle at all. Drift requires a physical, fenced yard and really would love someone who understands the brains and energy of a herding dog. He would love a friendly dog buddy. This sweet and handsome boy is being fostered in St. Louis. Please fill out an application at: https://www.speakrescue.com/pre-adoption-form ##2780632##
