Story
I’ve had Sybil for a while now, which is OK with me as she is my best and easiest dog in the kennel. But, she is ready for her forever home and her forever person. She was a bit of a challenge when I got her, but she has recovered and then some. I did do a fair amount of training work with her, she is a easy student and a very quick study. She loves being out in her yard seeing the world, barking at deer, romping w/the other dogs when we go by on our walks and most of all, hunting mice. Which is a bit annoying as she does create some good holes. Sybil is good on a leash and I enjoy our walks together. She’s an energetic dog, but not a hyper dog. She is the only dog in my kennel not to bark when i walk the other dogs. She calmly waits for her turn. Sybil is independent, but also loves her person and will be a dedicated dog. She likes people but seems to meet women better than men. Which isn’t unusual. She also does well with other dogs with a proper introduction. She does seem to be choosey though, likes and dislikes dogs for reason I can’t understand. Sybil isn’t an anybody dog. She is very smart and needs someone who is a bit dog savvy and will be the alpha leader. Being the alpha leader is not a physical thing, it’s how you think, your attitude, and demeanor. She’s an awesome dog. And she would like her forever home. If that someone is you and you would like to meet her.

Story
Meet Ned!Ned came to us after being found as a stray, so much of his history is still a mystery. We estimate him to be around 2 years old, though that is our best guess.Breed-wise, Ned is a bit of a puzzle too. We believe he may have some Rough Collie in his mix, especially because of his distinctive long, slender nose that doesn’t always show well in photos. We also suspect there may be some Coonhound in there somewhere. Whatever his DNA says, it certainly created one very handsome and very sweet dog.Ned is incredibly well mannered and has what we can only describe as an old-soul personality. He is gentle, easygoing, and seems to take everything in stride. He knows some basic commands, loves meeting people, and truly does not seem to know a stranger. He will happily walk right up to someone new looking for attention and affection. The wonderful woman who found Ned cared for him for several weeks before he came to the shelter. During that time, he did great with her other dogs, children, and even her chickens! Cats are currently unknown since there were none in the home. Based on his gentle nature, we are hopeful he may do well with them too, but we will update his bio if we learn otherwise.Ned is one of those dogs who just seems easy to be around. Sweet, steady, friendly, and quietly charming, he is ready to trade his days as a stray for a home and family of his own.His adoption fee is $200 and this includes his neuter, vaccines, heartworm tested negative, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention, and a microchip that we register for you.
