Story
Lily Mae is a classic gorgeous rough collie. Just about a year old, she is full of energy, but her ultimate goal is to be a lap dog. She loves to wrestle and run in the yard with her foster siblings and play tug of war, but then she wants to be cuddled and loved by her human. Lily Mae thinks toys are great, particularly jolly balls and anything meant for chewing or tugging. She’s house trained, is pretty good on a leash, and is working on crate training. Lily Mae is hearing impaired and is learning hand signals. She quickly learned “sit” and is working on “off” and “leave it.” She needs a home with a fenced-in yard and would prefer one with another large, playful dog. No tiny kids, please, only because she doesn’t realize how big she is and is very exuberant. Lily Mae is very sweet, very loving, and very Velcro. She’s being fostered in the St. Louis area.  ##1974523##

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Valentino is the kind of dog that wants to be best friends with every person that he meets. He's been at CARE since May and while being in a noisy shelter for so long has been very stressful for him, he's also become a huge favorite of so many staff members and volunteers over that time, who love him for his winning personality and his big heart. He's been doing great in his foster home. This young lovable boy is learning so many things. He is potty trained and crate trained, and knows basic commands. Valentino is playful and fun! He loves his walks and is a big sniffer. He really loves it when you scatter treats on the ground for him to sniff around and find, which he always does because he is also so, so smart. He also loves to play with his stuffies, run around and is very good at all kinds of puzzles and training games. But Valentino's most favorite thing to do is to cuddle. He's a total lap dog, and you won't meet a dog that will appreciate your scratches and affection more. Valentino is starting training for dog reactivity, which he's unfortunately developed as a result of being in the stressful shelter environment for so long. Tasty treats and good things to sniff are key for this boy. Valentino will truly make the perfect best bud. He's so deserving, and he has so much love to give! Please consider giving Valentino his forever home!

Story
Each of our pets has a unique story, but they all share one thing in common: they need a loving, caring, and nurturing home to thrive in. One of these pets is Inga, a charming and affectionate girl who has been waiting for her forever home since February 2022. Inga is a lively and intelligent pup who adores outdoor activities such as running, hiking, and playing fetch. She has already mastered a few tricks and is housebroken, but she could use some guidance on remaining calm during car rides. To help her socialize with other dogs, Inga has been receiving training and will continue to receive lifetime training from our partner, Good Dog Enrichment and Training. Please come and meet this lovely gal and shower her with the love and care she truly deserves. With Inga by your side, you'll have a loyal and loving companion for life!
