Story
Meet Montoya! He is so ready for his future to take off. After being found in the cornfield malnourished and ridden with fleas causing skin issues. Fast forward to now and he is happy, healthy, and extraordinarily super smart. Already potty training so well, he knows basic commands, and is learning more. He is so smart it blows our minds how easy learning comes to him. He is also crate-trained. Cat, dog, big and small and people friendly. Monty will need experienced adopters willing to continue his training as he grows into an amazing pupper. Adopters with a history of raising a puppy are preferred but not a must. No, we cannot adopt the boys out together. They have been very exposed to so many children of all ages as well. They even had weekend pup dates and did fabulously awesome with 0 accidents in the home. Montoya is house and crate trained pretty well, up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, rabies, dewormed, fecal tested negative, micro-chipped, neutered, and on monthly heart-worm flea/tick prevention. Updated: 2/1/2023 www.animalhousesanctuary.org We believe training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues that arise, need to be addressed and/or rewarded. Understanding that continued training is a lifetime commitment, is very important. Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. Meet & Greets are a required before proceeding with an adoption. We DO NOT ship any of our pets.

Story
Meet Serana! This girl is not only beautiful, but she is as sweet as can be too! Serana is great with people of all ages and other dogs. She is friendly and silly, with a goofy personality. Serana is great with potty training and crate training, and is all around smart. She does have vision impairments, and this does impact her daily life. She will need to get used to her environment, and does sometimes feel a bit shy in new places. Once she has her home layout down, she is much more confident and maneuvers perfectly. She is not blind, but the ophthalmologist Diagnosed her as nearsighted. Serana is 11 months old. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm negative, and current on flea/heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $200. To Adopt Serana, apply today at farfetcheddogrescue.org!

Story
We are looking for a new home for our beautiful, affectionate dog who has been deeply loved and well cared for. He is a nearly 3-year-old pup with a sweet, loyal personality. He has done well with our young children and has never shown aggression towards others. We believe he would thrive in a household with a large space for him to run and play, as well as stay active in other ways. He has not been around cats. His puppy energy has mellowed over the past year but he still has some of that border collie personality. Most days, he’s happy lounging on the couch (about 80% of the time) and then enjoying bursts of play indoors or outside. He especially loves being near his people and often follows my husband from room to room. He is smart, very food-motivated, loves to chew, and does well with appropriate toys. He is crate-trained and goes in willingly with treats when we leave the house.

Rizzo’s Compatibility:Dogs - Bring yours by and we’ll see if they click!Cats - YesKids - Yes, 8+Rizzo is a handsome cattledog mix who is housebroken, crate trained, and knows all the important stuff like sit, lie down, give paw, and how to gaze lovingly into your soul. He’s a social eater (he likes to dine near his people like the little gentleman he is) and an expert napper who takes his sunbathing schedule very seriously. Rizzo`s foster mom states that he enjoys running with her, and they`ve even started doing Couch to 5k together!Rizzo has been an excellent office buddy here at HSHC and a devoted companion to the people who’ve taken the time to get to know him. He’s hoping for a calm and steady home where guests are few, and he can really settle in as someone’s best friend. He may not be the life of the party, but if you prefer quiet mornings, loyal company, and a dog who thinks the sun rises and sets with you... Rizzo is already halfway in love. Come meet him and see if the feeling’s mutual!

Lola Moon’s Compatibility:Dogs - YesCats - Prefers no catsKids - Yes, dog savvy teens are a great fitLola Moon is a smart, affectionate girl with a gentle nature that shines once she feels settled. She recently spent time in foster care, where she showed us just how wonderful she can be in a home.In foster, Lola Moon was completely housebroken, nondestructive, and an excellent house guest. She settled in beautifully, slept through the night, and did well both having her own space and sharing a bedroom. She lived with four other dogs and did great. Lola Moon was a little unsure around a larger dog at first, but with time and patience, she warmed up and coexisted happily. She also did very well on walks and enjoyed spending time out and about with her people. She may take a day or two to feel comfortable with new faces, but once she does, she seeks out affection and enjoys being close to her people. When Lola Moon bonds with you, she bonds deeply.Lola Moon would do best in a calm, consistent home with dog savvy teens and adults who appreciate a loyal, steady companion. She has completed a board and train program, knows her basic cues, and thrives with positive reinforcement and routine.Lola Moon is ready for adoption and would love to meet you. Visit the shelter to learn more and spend some time with her.
