Story
Meet Montoya! He is so ready for his future to take off. After being found in the cornfield malnourished and ridden with fleas causing skin issues. Fast forward to now and he is happy, healthy, and extraordinarily super smart. Already potty training so well, he knows basic commands, and is learning more. He is so smart it blows our minds how easy learning comes to him. He is also crate-trained. Cat, dog, big and small and people friendly. Monty will need experienced adopters willing to continue his training as he grows into an amazing pupper. Adopters with a history of raising a puppy are preferred but not a must. No, we cannot adopt the boys out together. They have been very exposed to so many children of all ages as well. They even had weekend pup dates and did fabulously awesome with 0 accidents in the home. Montoya is house and crate trained pretty well, up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, rabies, dewormed, fecal tested negative, micro-chipped, neutered, and on monthly heart-worm flea/tick prevention. Updated: 2/1/2023 www.animalhousesanctuary.org We believe training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues that arise, need to be addressed and/or rewarded. Understanding that continued training is a lifetime commitment, is very important. Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. Meet & Greets are a required before proceeding with an adoption. We DO NOT ship any of our pets.

Hunter`s Compatibility:Dogs - Yes, plays very well with others!Cats - Not for HunterKids - Yes, 8+If Hunter had a catchphrase, it’d be “Go big or go home.” This happy, goofy guy brings full-on enthusiasm to everything he does—fetch, snuggles, zoomies, you name it. He’s smart, social, and full of opinions and charm, always ready for adventure and guaranteed to make you laugh.Crate-trained, housebroken, and enrichment-obsessed, Hunter loves snuffle mats, puzzle toys, frozen Kongs, and rope toys. He’s also a world-class cuddler who will gladly turn into a weighted blanket if you sit still long enough. He’s working on leash manners and can get amped about cars, joggers, and squirrels, but with positive reinforcement and consistency, he’s eager to learn.Hunter lived with another dog and did well in daycare, though he can be a bit protective over food and toys. With proper management, he might enjoy a canine sibling. He hasn’t lived with cats, and kids should be 8+ and dog-savvy.Hunter is a lovable goofball who’s ready for a home that can shower him with love and belly rubs. Come meet him today and see if he’s the one for you!
