Story
This is Triton! He is a very energetic and happy dog. We adopted him from IndyHumane in May 2023. Some of his quirky traits are: - ZOOMIES! - Will sing with you - Loves to play! With humans and with other doggies - LOVES Kong toys!! They’re the only indestructible toy we’ve found. Triton is always looking for time outside, and time to play with his people. He’s not much of a cuddler but will love to lay in the bed with you. He gets along great with my senior dog, and my senior cat! He’s great around children (12+ is all I’ve witnessed). He is very weary of Men, it takes him a day or two to get used to men. He is not aggressive by any means, but will bark and growl with food which is something new we’ve been noticing. He is a big puller on a leash, which is something we struggled to keep up with. Overall he is a very sweet and fun dog, we are looking for someone that can play fetch with him, give him time outside and can help attend to his behavioral needs.

Story
Lisl is a 9 1/2 year old pure bred Border Collie with a lot of life left in her. She is friendly and a little shy in a very sweet way, absolutely loves her people, and is always ready to greet her family at the door. She is very much crate trained and loves spending time in her crate. (Crate and all dog accessories will go with new owner.) We bought her from a breeder in Ohio when she was two months old, and she has been a wonderful pet for nearly a decade. We have some changes coming to our family and are reluctantly needing to find her a good home. We also have her sister and litter mate, Sadie, available. Please check her listing!

Story
Meet Auggie! This 6-month-old Mini Australian Shepherd was rescued from a kill shelter, and hes ready to start his happily-ever-after. Auggie may be shy and timid at first, but give him a little time and hell trust you completelythen flip right over for his favorite thing: belly rubs. Augustus came to ARPO after being owner-surrendered with his two brothers and landed on the euthanasia list at an overcrowded shelter before being saved. Now, hes ready for the second chance he so deserves and a forever family to love him for life. Hes working hard on potty training and even learning to ring the bell. Treat-motivated and smart, hes catching on to commands quickly. Auggie loves other dogs, adores kids, and would thrive in a patient, loving home where he can continue to blossom. Neutered, microchipped, and full of potentialAuggie is ready to find his person. Story
Meet Hannah, a 1-year-old Catahoula/Cattle Dog mix and the sweetest Velcro dog you will ever met. Hannah is the very definition of the 3-3-3 rule. For a typical rescue dog, it takes 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to understand they are home, 3 months to understand they are a family member at home. For Hannah it might be a bit longer in her new home to adjust due to hearing disability and her past. However, as her foster mom, I can tell you that she is absolutely worth the wait. She will be very cautious and unsure, but she is not aggressive or reactive. She needs a family that will put in the time and patience for Hannah to be her silly, sweet self. She will take longer to adjust to men because of her past interactions with them. It took Hannah about 4-5 months to freely walk around the house without trying to hide. Now she walks and hangs out with the whole family. A little history about Hannah. She was born deaf but has good vision. She was neglected and possibly abused the first year of her life in the home of a backyard breeder. She was then surrenderedto a shelter. She was living on borrowed time due to capacity concerns andwas extremely scared and confused. We had to give this girl a chance to blossom, and she is quickly becoming this sweet and happy Velcro dog. In the past five months inside her foster home, she has gained so much confidence and has become such a sweet girl. She loves listening to music loudly in the car on the way for a pup cup, especially Enyas Caribbean Moon. She probably likes to feel thevibrations or the beat. She does generally well in the car and has now learned to hop in and out with no problems. She loves her walks and will walk right next to you. Sometimes a little too close where she will accidentallystep on the back of my feet but she just wants to be so close so she feels safe on our walks. After a good long walk she enjoys sitting on the couch watching TV (with subtitles) with her foster family. Hannah's favorite genres are sci-fi, cooking shows, and rom-coms. She doesn't seem to like Stanley Tucci and she growls when he pops on the screen. We won't fault her for that. She has started vibration collar, light, and sign language training and is doing very well. When she feels safe, and confident with the humans around her, she is eager to learn. She knows stay, off, and we are working on sit and come here. She LOVES fetch and would like a home with plenty of indoor and outdoor toys to play with. She loves a good chew at night to settle in. She looks to her doggie foster siblingsfor her queues and mimics what theydo. Hannah wants to be in a pack. She will need a home with another dog friend that can be her forever companion and most importantly her guide and leader. This is a must. If you do not have a second dog, might we suggest Wapiti, another foster in ARPO. She felt very safe with him. She also needs a 5-6 completely fenced in yard for her protection. No holes or gaps. Due to her past, she is very wary and cautiousof male figures and slow to come around them, but shows promise with repeatedexposure. Her favorite special treats are Cheetos, Cheek chips (From Hollywood feed), and doggie icecream. She has perfect potty manners and will let you know when she needs to go. She is crate trained, and her crate is her safespace that needs to be respected and not used as a punishment. She is doing very well living in a home with big and little dogs and several cats. She is respectfulof the cats and if there is a patient feline in the home that loves to snuggle in bed with her, she would be over the moon. Hannah being deaf doesn't define Hannah. She is kind, sweet and needs a patient loving home that will appreciate her and make her feel safe for the rest of herlife.Hannah will take some time and patience, but she is well worth it. She is a diamond in the ruff :). Home inspection will be required as part of the finalization of adoption of Hannah.Transportation is available for the perfect home.
