Story
Meet Montoya! He is so ready for his future to take off. After being found in the cornfield malnourished and ridden with fleas causing skin issues. Fast forward to now and he is happy, healthy, and extraordinarily super smart. Already potty training so well, he knows basic commands, and is learning more. He is so smart it blows our minds how easy learning comes to him. He is also crate-trained. Cat, dog, big and small and people friendly. Monty will need experienced adopters willing to continue his training as he grows into an amazing pupper. Adopters with a history of raising a puppy are preferred but not a must. No, we cannot adopt the boys out together. They have been very exposed to so many children of all ages as well. They even had weekend pup dates and did fabulously awesome with 0 accidents in the home. Montoya is house and crate trained pretty well, up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, rabies, dewormed, fecal tested negative, micro-chipped, neutered, and on monthly heart-worm flea/tick prevention. Updated: 2/1/2023 www.animalhousesanctuary.org We believe training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues that arise, need to be addressed and/or rewarded. Understanding that continued training is a lifetime commitment, is very important. Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. Meet & Greets are a required before proceeding with an adoption. We DO NOT ship any of our pets.

Story
Meet Serana! This girl is not only beautiful, but she is as sweet as can be too! Serana is great with people of all ages and other dogs. She is friendly and silly, with a goofy personality. Serana is great with potty training and crate training, and is all around smart. She does have vision impairments, and this does impact her daily life. She will need to get used to her environment, and does sometimes feel a bit shy in new places. Once she has her home layout down, she is much more confident and maneuvers perfectly. She is not blind, but the ophthalmologist Diagnosed her as nearsighted. Serana is 11 months old. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm negative, and current on flea/heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $200. To Adopt Serana, apply today at farfetcheddogrescue.org!

Story
Meet Axel, a lovable 3-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix with a heart full of personality. While he enjoys playful interactions, he can sometimes jump on kids and play a bit too energetically. Axel thrives under the guidance of authority figures and absolutely lights up when meeting new people. His past tells a story of resilience; having come from a challenging previous home, Axel has developed a strong protective instinct, particularly towards women. Unfortunately, he has become wary of men due to a traumatic experience where he was kicked down the stairs. This can lead him to growl and bark at unfamiliar men or anyone approaching the door. Axel has received care at Jackman's Vet Clinic and is ready for a loving home where he can feel safe and secure. His unique personality and protective nature make him a special companion for the right person or family willing to understand his background and support him on his journey to trust. ADOPTION FEE: LOCAL $100 NON-LOCAL $140 All dogs receive at least 1 distemper/parvo and Bordetella vaccine. If possible, a heartworm test will be done, and if negative, the dog will be started on heartworm prevention. All animals receive flea and parasite prevention/treatment and will be microchipped. All animals can go home the same day as adoption. We will need your photo ID, and you will sign some documents. Adopters will also receive a copy of the animal's medical history to date. We do not do an application process. All adoptions are first-come, first-served. We do not offer holds. We do not, in most cases, require adopters to bring all their family members and dogs for a meet-and-greet. But we do highly encourage it. We are happy to introduce the new dog to your dog(s) at the shelter. No appointment necessary. We do offer home trials of dogs over 6 months of age for about a week. You will not need to pay the adoption fee (spay neuter deposit) ahead of time, but if you decide to adopt, you will need to return to the shelter to complete the paperwork and pay the adoption deposit. If you do not wish to complete the adoption, you can bring the dog back at any time during normal business hours during your home trial period. We do not allow after hours drop off.
