Meet Asia!Asia is a 9-month-old, 32-pound, sweetheart who still has some growing left to do. We believe that she could get to be around 40-45 pounds fully grown. She’s gentle, shy, and looking for a calm home that understands timid pups. Asia truly needs another confident dog in the home, so that will be required. With another dog, she relaxes, follows their lead, and feels much braver with a canine friend by her side. She has not had the opportunity to meet with a lot of families since coming from Oklahoma, so proper introductions with family will be needed to make sure she is the right fit.If you have a soft spot for sweet, sensitive dogs who just need a little time and reassurance, Asia might be the girl. "She ran calling "WILD.....FIRE"!! That is a haunting song.... I promise, though..I am not a HAUNTER!! But I may love to run around and around and AROUND :) I am a puppy! I am so sweet and cuddly, when i finish running around ;) I have plenty of energy so you HAVE to be ready to burn it off with mental and physical exercise. I am SMART too! Teach me who you want me to be and I will learn! I was found with 4 siblings living (dumped) at the Home Depot...but it was a LUCKY BREAK, cause we were seen by the husband of a rescuer and we got SAVED! Now I am in my foster home and learning the "ropes" ;) Potty training is getting better every day, I mean our foster mom takes us out often for potty control and I am really working hard to wait for the next jaunt outside! I also am crate training too! I don't like to pee or poop where I sleep- as long as I don't eat right before bed and go outside as soon as I wake up I am doing great!! I seriously am ready for my family, I LOVE to play and am great with all dogs big, small, old or babies. AND i have one half BLUE EYE!! The better to see you with, my new family! :) ADOPT ME SOON!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Hi, I’m Gabe! I’m a 1-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix, and shelter life has me feeling pretty anxious. I’m really hoping someone will bail me out so I can finally relax and let my true personality shine. Once I feel safe, I’m a very affectionate boy who loves being close to his person. I’ll do best in a calm home without other pets or small children, where I can settle in and build confidence at my own pace. With a little patience and love, I know I can be a loyal, loving companion. Maybe you’re the one I’ve been waiting for If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2603748##
