Story
**Meet Stoney!** Stoney is a unique 4-year-old, 49-pound mix of 18 different breeds—a true one-of-a-kind mutt! He was returned to our care after his handicapped owner passed away. Stoney is a well-trained, loving dog who is potty trained, crate trained, and knows several commands. He walks beautifully on a leash and would thrive as the only dog in a quiet home with a single person. While he gets along well with most alpha female dogs, Stoney is best suited as a solo pet. He’s a little overweight right now, but with a bit of exercise and attention, he’ll be back to his healthy weight in no time. If you’re looking for a loyal companion to share your calm and quiet space, Stoney could be the perfect fit for you!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is currently spending time in a foster home. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please contact fosterinquiry@arl-iowa.org.---- A calm lady who will come up to people for pets and attention - Doesn't love going in and out of a crate, but has been able to be free in the house in her foster home without problems - Has been doing well with potty training in her foster home, just remember any dog may take time to adjust to a new schedule - Is still nervous about everyday things like walking on a leash, hardwood floors and going through doorways, but is making great progress in her foster home and just needs a patient family to help her continue to gain confidence! - May do best with a fenced-in yard - Likes playing outside with other dogs in her foster home, may benefit from a dog friend in her new home to help show her the ropes - Came from a situation where they did not get the socialization and exposure to the world that dogs typically get from a young age. Because of this, they may struggle with new situations, may show uncertainty with novel everyday objects, may need help understanding leashes, and will need patience and structure with housetraining. All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Tan Weight: 56.1 Age: 3yrs 3mths 1wks

- Smiley boy who is friendly and loves to meet people- Prefers to explore and do their own thing here in the shelter, but will likely open up more once they're in a home environment and have had time to decompress - Tends to be a linebacker-type player with other dogs, which some dogs may not appreciate; will likely do best with a select group of rough-and-tumble dog friends with a similar play style (dog intro recommended) - Tends to be socially awkward with other dogs (dog intro recommended) The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Story
Meet Magellan! He had been living on the street for a few months when someone asked if we could take him in. He’s sooooo happy and bouncy! He weighs 51 pounds and is about a year old, still a baby with sparkling white teeth! He is GREAT with the other dogs in the yard, but plays a little too rough for smaller dogs. He has a chill disposition and isn’t dominant with the other dogs. Magellan is super smart and did great during his brief time in a temporary home. He learned sit and down quickly, and he does well in his crate. He loves to cuddle. Magellan loves to play! He would be a great addition to any home!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats.
