Name: Daira Age: Puppy DOB: 10/18/25 Gender: female Breed: Border Collie/ Labrador Retriever mix Weight: 21 lbs Dog friendly: yes Cat friendly: yes Child friendly: yes House trained: in progress, puppy Crate trained: in progress, puppy Energy level: Moderate Temperament: sweet, snuggly, docile, easygoing, loyal Requirement: Not rental appropriate Adoption Fee: $525+tax To adopt, go to:  www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html Hi there! I’m Daira, a sweet Border Collie and Labrador Retriever mix puppy with a heart as big as my paws. I’m new to Minnesota and still discovering all the exciting things about being an indoor pup. My distinct white-tipped front paws and question mark tail are my signature markings and make me different from my sister. For most of my young life, I lived outside on my own, so every cozy new experience now feels extra special and exciting to me. I’m a curious little explorer at heart — I love sniffing out new corners, chasing a bouncy toy, or investigating a new sound. I also have a soft, cuddly side and adore curling up on a warm bed or snuggling on the couch for quiet time with my people. Sometimes I’ll nuzzle in close just to make sure I’m part of whatever is happening, and I always appreciate gentle pets and love-filled attention. I get along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and kids, and I have a calm, friendly nature that makes it easy for me to bond with new friends. I’m still learning house training and crate training, but I’m making steady progress and respond well to patience, structure, and positive encouragement. I enjoy short walks, play sessions, and discovering new sights and smells, and I’m looking forward to learning even more as I grow. I dream of a family who will share life’s adventures with me — from playing in the yard, going on safe walks, learning new tricks, to quiet evenings curled up together. I’m loyal, loving, and full of potential, and I want a home where I can be a true part of the family, sharing love, laughter, and lots of cuddles along the way. To adopt, go to: http://www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html Some stars take a little longer to find their sky… and Natz has been patiently waiting for his wish to come true. Natz isn’t the kind of dog who rushes headfirst into the world. He watches first. He listens. He takes his time—because when Natz gives his heart, he gives it completely. When Natz made the long journey from Alabama to Minnesota, everything felt unfamiliar. New sights, new sounds, new people. At first, he wasn’t sure who to trust. But after a few quiet days, something shifted. He realized he was safe. He realized these humans were kind. And once that trust settled in, it was as if a snuggle switch flipped—revealing the deeply affectionate, loyal soul he had been keeping close. Natz may be shy at first, but give him a few minutes and he’ll lean in for pets, soaking up every bit of affection. He’s learning puppy manners quickly (he’s already picking up “sit”), loves going on walks, and is working on curbing his enthusiasm on leash. He does great in his crate, though he prefers spending his time roaming freely through the house or yard, always keeping track of where his people are. There’s a sweetness to Natz’s cautious nature. It isn’t fear—it’s thoughtfulness. He values security, routine, and connection. Once he bonds with his family, his loyalty is undeniable. He has joyful bursts of puppy energy, and when playtime is done, he’s more than ready to settle in for cozy snuggles. From Natz himself: He doesn’t rush into things. He likes to be sure. But once he knows he’s safe, once he knows you’re his, your voice becomes his comfort and your presence becomes his home. Curled up beside you, the world suddenly feels a lot less big.   February 1, 2026, 12:57 pm

Story
Name:  Kip Age:  4.5 years Gender:  Male Breed:  Border Collie  Weight:  37 lbs Dog friendly:  Yes Cat friendly:  Yes- dog-savvy cat's please who like to play! Child friendly: Yes- older considerate children, please House trained:  Yes Crate trained:  Yes Energy level:  Moderate  Temperament:  Friendly, Affectionate, Eager to Please Home Requirements:  Not rental  appropriate  Adoption Fee:  $275+tax To adopt, go to: www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html From the Foster Family: Kip is a sweet, affectionate boy who has overcome a difficult past and is ready to shower his forever family with love! Despite having been abandoned, Kip has shown us nothing but kindness and trust. He shows zero signs of aggression and is incredibly cuddly - he'll be your constant companion and shadow. He came to us a bit anxious at first, but adjusted to our home quickly and has really blossomed. Kip is whip-smart and attentive, already knowing "sit," "down," and "shake" - and he's always eager to learn more. He listens really well and is a joy to have around. He gets along great with both our resident dogs. This boy is always ready to go go go! He has moderate to active energy and would thrive with an active family who can give him regular exercise, mental stimulation, and plenty of adventures. He's both house trained and crate trained, which makes him an easy houseguest. Kip gets a little sad and nervous when someone leaves the house. We're still working on his excitement when new people come over because he just loves meeting everyone. With his intelligence and willingness to learn, we know he'll continue to improve with consistency and positive reinforcement. Kip deserves a patient, loving home that can provide him with structure, activity, and all the affection he's been missing. About Me: Hi, I'm Kip! I'm a 4.5-year-old boy who's ready to leave my past behind and focus on all the adventures ahead. I'm a smart and friendly guy who loves to learn new things and make my people proud. I know several commands already and I'm always watching for the next cue - I really want to be a good boy! I have plenty of energy for adventures, playtime, and outdoor fun - I'm basically ready to go at a moment's notice! But I also love snuggle time, and I'll happily curl up right next to you (okay, maybe on top of you) whenever possible. Personal space? Never heard of it! I get along wonderfully with other dogs, so if you have furry friends at home, we'll be best buddies in no time. What I really need is a family who can give me the love and security I've been craving. I promise to give you my whole heart in return. I'm looking for an active, patient family who can help me continue building my confidence and teach me even more cool tricks. Are you ready for a loyal, loving companion who will never leave your side?      February 8, 2026, 2:02 pm

If you sit down, he may assume cuddles are happening (he’s learning to wait for the cue “up”… but enthusiasm is hard to contain). He’s friendly with people, great on outings, good with other dogs, rides nicely in the car, and sleeps like a champ in his kennel. He loves affection, gives sweet nuzzles, and takes his naps very seriously. Pacco is a foodie and eats his meals with enthusiasm. He’s currently working on house manners, like resisting the urge to sneak a snack off the counter. He’s also improving his leash skills and learning to walk more calmly with less pulling — he’s smart, eager to learn, and getting better every day. Pacco is an alert dog and will let you know when someone arrives, but he redirects easily. He does have a high prey drive, so a home without small animals or cats is best. Affectionate, playful, and absolutely unforgettable, Pacco is looking for a dog-savvy family or person ready to laugh, train, and fall completely in love.     February 1, 2026, 12:57 pm

Story
Name: Sherlock Age: Puppy DOB: 10/11/2025 Gender: male Breed: Aussie / Collie mix Weight: 18 lbs Dog friendly: yes Cat friendly: yes Child friendly: Yes. Older children. He currently loves to jump up to say hi House trained: in progress, puppy Crate trained: yes Energy level: Puppy Temperament: loving, playful, curious, smart Requirement: Not rental appropriate  Adoption Fee: $525+tax To adopt, go to:  www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html Before he ever had the chance to learn what home truly meant, Sherlock was left behind. Now he’s safe, cared for, and ready to discover what it feels like to be chosen, loved, and part of a family forever. From the Foster Family: Sherlock was dumped at a Walmart parking lot and was wandering along the highway when a wonderful woman stopped and picked him up. He is an Aussie mix and very true to his breed. He loves to explore and will happily play with any dog that is willing to play with him. At about 14 weeks old, he is just like a baby—full of curiosity, energy, and joy. He will play hard, explore everything around him, and then settle in for a well-earned nap. Sherlock sleeps in his kennel overnight and does very well. In the morning, we head straight outside where he goes potty right away, and with a consistent schedule he should be easy to fully house train. He loves finding things to chew on, so having appropriate chew toys will help keep him busy and happy. He is full of life, eager to learn, and always ready for the next adventure. His ideal family would be one that understands herding breeds and enjoys staying active. Please fill out an application and come meet Sherlock. He will happily greet you with puppy kisses. About Me: I am told I am in Minnesota, and all I can say is it’s not Kansas anymore—actually Alabama. The white stuff on the ground is very cold and makes my feet hurt, but I’m told it will get better. I love my foster home. There are five other dogs here and I get to play with most of them. I love sniffing around, finding new things to play with, and playing tug of war with a stuffed animal and another foster dog. I’m looking for a family that can keep up with my puppy energy and take me on lots of adventures as I grow and learn. If you think we might be a good match, please fill out an application and let’s meet. Thanks for looking at my bio. Sherlock  February 5, 2026, 11:14 am
