Name: Natz Age:  1 year Gender: male Breed: Labrador Retriever/ Collie Mix Weight: 37 lbs Dog friendly: yes Cat friendly: yes Child friendly: yes House trained: yes Crate trained: yes Energy level: moderate Temperament: sweet, intelligent, reserved, loyal Requirement: Not suited for apartment living, but would thrive in a town home or condo Adoption Fee: $400+tax   To adopt, go to: http://www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html   From the Foster Family:    Natz  and his brother N iklas  (also with  Mending Spirits )  recently made the trip to Minnesota from Alabama. When Natz first arrived he was very unsure of us and his surroundings. It took him a couple of days to realize that we could be trusted and then it was like a snuggle switch was flipped.  Natz  is shy at first, but give him a few minutes and he is trusting to have you pet him. He is learning puppy manners like “sit” very quickly. H e  loves going on walks and is learning to curb his enthusiasm while on a leash .  He does  great  in his crate but spends most of his time roaming free in the house or yard.  He loves pets and snuggles. Despite h is  more reserved approach, N atz’  loyalty is undeniable. Once he forms a bond with h is  family, he becomes incredibly affectionate. H is  cautiousness gives h im  a sweet, thoughtful quality—he’s a dog who values security and routine, and once he knows he’s in a safe, loving environment, h is  personality shines through in little bursts of happiness. H e has a lot of puppy energy but when he is done playing for the day he is ready for cozy snuggling.  From Natz: I don’t rush into things. I like to take my time, figuring out if something feels right. It’s not that I’m scared; I just like to be sure. My humans? They’re the best. I know their voices, their scents, and I trust them with everything. I love to be close to them and look around to make sure they are close to me. When I curl up next to them, everything feels safe. The world can be big, and I’m still figuring it all out, but as long as they’re near, I feel like I can handle whatever comes my way.    August 15, 2025, 8:38 pm

Lickity Split is full of love and personality. She enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring, and playing with a variety of toys. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is gentle around children, making her a true family-friendly companion. Lickity Split is very food motivated, which makes training both fun and effective—she is smart and picks up new commands quickly. She is making excellent progress with house training and is already crate trained, showing she can be trusted when left alone for short periods. One of her favorite things is cuddling with her humans; she loves attention and thrives on affection. She’s also quite playful and has a silly side—she even won a costume contest! Lickity Split adapts well to new environments and routines, making her a flexible and easygoing companion for the right home.
