Name: Natz Age:  1 year Gender: male Breed: Labrador Retriever/ Collie Mix Weight: 37 lbs Dog friendly: yes Cat friendly: yes Child friendly: yes House trained: yes Crate trained: yes Energy level: moderate Temperament: sweet, intelligent, reserved, loyal Requirement: Not suited for apartment living, but would thrive in a town home or condo Adoption Fee: $400+tax   To adopt, go to: http://www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html   From the Foster Family:    Natz  and his brother N iklas  (also with  Mending Spirits )  recently made the trip to Minnesota from Alabama. When Natz first arrived he was very unsure of us and his surroundings. It took him a couple of days to realize that we could be trusted and then it was like a snuggle switch was flipped.  Natz  is shy at first, but give him a few minutes and he is trusting to have you pet him. He is learning puppy manners like “sit” very quickly. H e  loves going on walks and is learning to curb his enthusiasm while on a leash .  He does  great  in his crate but spends most of his time roaming free in the house or yard.  He loves pets and snuggles. Despite h is  more reserved approach, N atz’  loyalty is undeniable. Once he forms a bond with h is  family, he becomes incredibly affectionate. H is  cautiousness gives h im  a sweet, thoughtful quality—he’s a dog who values security and routine, and once he knows he’s in a safe, loving environment, h is  personality shines through in little bursts of happiness. H e has a lot of puppy energy but when he is done playing for the day he is ready for cozy snuggling.  From Natz: I don’t rush into things. I like to take my time, figuring out if something feels right. It’s not that I’m scared; I just like to be sure. My humans? They’re the best. I know their voices, their scents, and I trust them with everything. I love to be close to them and look around to make sure they are close to me. When I curl up next to them, everything feels safe. The world can be big, and I’m still figuring it all out, but as long as they’re near, I feel like I can handle whatever comes my way.    August 15, 2025, 8:38 pm

Hi, my name is Mona and I am from Oklahoma! From her foster: Meet Mona! Mona is a 7-month-old Collie/Australian Shepherd mix with a big personality and an even bigger love for people. She settled into her foster home quickly and wants to be part of everything you’re doing. Mona is very smart and has already started picking up basic commands, showing just how eager she is to learn. She loves going on walks, playing in the snow, and romping around with dogs of all sizes, especially her foster’s small dog. Mona is on the higher-energy side and will do best with an active home that can give her plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. While she can get hyped up easily, she also settles down well. She’s been doing great with potty training, has had only one accident, and sleeps quietly in her crate at night. Mona is spayed, nearly done with her meds, and ready for her forever home!

Hi, my name is Ringo, and I am from Tennessee! From his foster: Ringo is a sweet young dog. He is quiet, gentle and submissive. He approaches new people and things cautiously, head down, until he figures out the situation. Then his tail starts slowly wagging and he comes over for some pets. Ringo will take quickly to some training. He’s a smart boy who’s a good listener. He runs to you when he’s called, and doesn’t like to be too far out of your view when he’s out in the yard. He enjoys hanging out with my resident dog. While Ringo’s social skills are a little awkward at his young age, he gives things a try. He responds nicely to any feedback he gets from my dog, and either backs off or starts to play, depending on the vibe. He has been playing nicely with my dog outside. Taking turns chasing each other, doing play bows, rolling on the ground to let the other dog wrestle with him, and vice versa. Ringo has not been around cats or kids yet. On walks, he is protective of me when he sees other dogs and people, but he responds really well to redirection and praise when he feels safe. He is a loving dog who wants to be with his people and be happy!
