Newt is the full package: energetic, affectionate, and always ready to bring a smile to your face with his silly antics. HUGE PLUS, he know all his basic commands, and even has a very nice paw shake! He’s the kind of pup who believes that love should be endless—whether it’s snuggles on the couch, happy tail wags, or being by your side for life’s adventures. Newt thrives on attention and wants nothing more than to be someone’s best friend. His sweet personality and playful spirit make him a wonderful companion for an active home where he’ll have the chance to run, play, and, most importantly, be cherished for the goofy, lovable boy he is. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will fill your days with joy, laughter, and unconditional love, Newt is waiting to meet you. Young children should never be left alone with dogs, and we cannot guarantee how any dog will behave with kids or other pets. Behavior seen in the shelter is just a snapshot and may change in a home. Dogs come from many backgrounds and may need training, time, and patience. Dogs should not be fed together unless you know they do not guard food. We also suggest learning about a dog's breed or mix to be sure it fits your family. Moving to a new home can be stressful for dogs. Use the Rule of 3 to help them adjust: First 3 days: Dogs may feel scared, tired, overexcited, or not want to eat. First 3 weeks: Dogs start learning routines and may show new behaviors. Keep things calm and avoid busy places. First 3 months: Dogs usually feel settled and more comfortable.
